HISTORY

Scarlet Grace Salvatore was born on October 24th 2008 to Ethan and Grace Salvatore in Greenwich, London. Scarlet was named after the blood moon that occurred at the start of that year, when it was believed she was conceived.

Scarlet's mother Grace is a descendant of the Everbone family, a pureblood family well known in the wizarding world. Born to English and French parents, Grace was raised in Paris, France, to ensure her acceptance into the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic where her father was convinced she would receive an unparalleled education. Grace had always hated living in France and longed to travel, and so, much against her mothers wishes, she left for England upon graduation from Beauxbatons intent on tracing the relatives her parents had left behind in England.

Her father Ethan Salvatore and his brother Alex were the last remaining members of the Salvatore lineage until Scarlet was born, the Salvatore's being a reclusive pureblood family much less well known to the wizarding world. Although believed to be a much older family than the Everbones, the origins of the Salvatore bloodline has been lost to history, probably in accordance to the family's wishes. Unlike Grace, Ethan attended Hogwarts where he excelled in Defence Against the Dark Arts and so it was no surprise that he began training as an auror after graduating.

Scarlet and Ethan both graduated their respective schools in the summer of 1999, and it was not until a chance meeting in 2005 that they fell in love. In England, Grace tracked her grandmother back to Greenwich in London, there her enthusiasm for the Care of Magical Creatures was utilised in her creature sanctuary whilst she trained as an Investigator for the Beast Division at the Ministry of Magic. Within a few years the two were both heavily involved with their respective divisions in the Ministry.

During August of 2005 Ethan received an urgent owl from his brother concerning the upcoming full moon, concerning Alex's impending transformation. When the two brothers were teenagers they had gone on a camping trip together, during which Alex was attacked by a creature later revealed to be a werewolf. As a result, on graduating from Hogwarts, her uncle bought a cabin in New Forest in the south of England, where with the help of wolfsbane potion, he would spend spend his subsequent transformations. Scarlet's father would often visit his brother around the time of his transformations as a precaution and to provide support. Unbeknown to the Ethan, he was not going to be the only one visiting his brother that August, elsewhere in the Ministry, Grace was given an assignment to check in on a werewolf. It was there in in the forest that Grace came across the brothers, where she fell for Ethan's unconditional love for his brother, a result of which, Scarlet was born three years later.

Scarlet's early childhood was spent surrounded by family, her parent's house in Greenwich was a short distance to her grandparents house in London, this as well as being home schooled by her mother meant that she was accustomed to magic being used on a daily basis. Some time before her first instance of magic at the age of six, Scarlet and her parents moved to a house within the New Forest to be closer to Alex as his transformations started to result in him travelling greater distances during the full moon. When she was not being home schooled, Scarlet spent her days exploring the New Forest in which their house was located, and in the years before starting Hogwarts, pouring over her father's case files from the Ministry when no-one was looking. Her father had always told her that their house was far enough in the forest that no muggle would find them, and too far for any wizard to bother and come look for them. However this remote location also meant that Scarlet made few new friends here, so spent most of her time with her cat Ashur.

After her first instance of magic, Scarlet had been counting down the days till her eleventh birthday and they day on which she would receive her Hogwarts letter, and when she finally spotted the owl gliding through the trees on that crisp October morning she could not have been more ecstatic. On arrival at Hogwarts she was doubting the fact that she would belong in any other house aside Ravenclaw as only two other Salvatore's in history had been sorted outside this house. When the sorting hat however placed her in Slytherin she understood then that this is where she belonged, Scarlet wanted to do more than draw out the family's legacy in Ravenclaw, she wanted to create one of her own.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC

From the moment she started to walk, Scarlet's parents had eagerly anticipated the day she would exhibit some indication of magical ability, but it was not until her cat Ashur became stuck up a tree that, unbeknown to her, the Quill of Acceptance and Book of Admittance scribbled down Scarlet's name. She was six years old and playing in the garden at the time when she heard the high pitched cries of Ashur from the top of the towering pine tree. Coaxing him down allowed him to move to lower branches, but he soon found himself on a weak branch that immediately snapped with his weight. As he fell Scarlet cried out his name and that is when the nearby trampoline quickly dragged across to his landing position, scooping up the now shaken Ashur, she then ran inside where she excitedly recited the events to her parents.

PERSONALITY Scarlet often relied on the company of her cat, Ashur, whilst she was growing up, and as a result could become shy and timid in social situations, however on being sorted into Slytherin she became determined to increase her confidence. Her childhood however has also made her very independent and resilient, so during her time at Hogwarts it is unlikely that she will give up on either friendships or studious pursuits. With her parents both being purebloods of respectable wizard families, Scarlet often feels as though it is her duty to make them proud and live up to the family name, so it is likely she focus on finishing Hogwarts with the best grades possible.

APPEARANCE Scarlet has inherited her dark coloured hair from her father, it falls in loose natural waves and it's colour seemingly made darker by her lighter skin and grey eyes. At 4ft 11.7in, she is taller than most her age, though her parents assure her they were just the same and she that she has just had an earlier growth spurt than others. Despite her height, her facial features remain small and quaint, much the same of other eleven year old girls. Though she loves the dark ember of the Slytherin uniform, when she is not wearing it, she will likely be found in leggings and a comfy top, spending her days exploring the forest around her house forced a habit of choosing comfort over style.

At the age of six, Scarlet’s father, Ethan Salvatore, moved the family to be closer to his brother, and her uncle, Alex, within New Forest in the south of England. On the night of a full moon, during which the two teenage brothers had taken a camping trip to Scotland, Alex’s keen interest in Astronomy prompted him to leave the tent and find a better spot to study the sky. He soon reached the summit of one of the smaller mountains and began to sketch the star’s arrangement. The creature approached from behind, and even if Alex had noticed it earlier, his position at the cliff’s edge left him with nowhere to run. Before he had time to react, to raise his wand in defence, the werewolf made one sweeping attack, his claws digging deep into Alex’s back. In many ways, the resulting effect of Alex falling forward into the ravine at the base of the summit saved his life, but during every subsequent full moon Alex had wished the beast had followed him and finished the job.

Scarlet’s parents had always supported her uncle around the times of his transformations, and she became used to being alone during full moons whilst they would visit her uncle. With her mother being a Beast Investigator at the Ministry and having a deep love of magical creatures, Scarlet grew up on stories of Goblins, Trolls and Pixies, but as a probable result of her uncle, she hadn’t been told about werewolves.

It was on the night of one particular full moon, at the age of nine, when Scarlet’s curiosity would change her life forever. Bored of the same routine of playing with her cat Ashur, reading and then going to bed, that night Scarlet decided to follow her parents deeper into the woods. Her parents eventually reached a clearing occupied by a small log cabin and a couple of fallen trees, Scarlet lingered behind a large oak on the edge of the clearing as her parents entered the cabin. At first she didn’t pay much attention to the dark shape that darted across her peripheral vision, but on looking closer at the oak tree that she was slumped against she noticed a deep gash in the wood and began to feel great unease. On hearing a bush rustling somewhere behind her, Scarlet decided she didn’t care what trouble it would get her into, but she was going after her parents into the cabin; she didn’t want to be alone anymore. Just as she was entered the clearing, the door of the cabin burst open and her parents, panic stricken, rushed outside. The next second was a blur, Scarlet remembered her mother screaming at her to duck, but it wasn’t until she heard the crashing of the werewolf behind her, breaking branches in his stride, that she knew she had to drop. Her father’s wand erupted in a blinding red light and the werewolf slumped from mid-air into a pile of black fur in front of her. Her mother brought Scarlet to her feet to check her for injuries, only stopping to say, “everything is going to be okay”, and when she found the bite on Scarlet’s shoulder she hugged her and said again, “everything is going to be okay.”

Scarlet came to learn all about werewolves in the weeks that followed that night, and unlike her uncle, came to enjoy her transformations, hours spent with her uncle learning to track and hunt, to control and make the most of her abilities. When in human form, no one would believe that she was a werewolf, her tall, slender figure along with her quiet nature act as a perfect mask. Scarlet has truly embraced her Lycanthropy which she has come to see as a gift and is hoping to find students at Hogwarts that share this idea.

As she had down for most of her childhood, Scarlet kept her hair down most days and often opted for a casual shirt, sweater or hoodie. She largely kept to herself, opting to focus on her classes, she extended her trust only to a handful of friends.

Born on the 17th of June 1982, Ethan was raised in the London borough of Greenwich with his younger brother, Alex.

Ethan was sorted into Ravenclaw for his time spent at Hogwarts, here he excelled in Defence Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration and developed a curiosity into the study of dark magical artefacts. He also became a valued member of the Ravenclaw duelling club through which he became a proficient dueller. Whilst his younger brother was too young to remember, his mother's death was believed to cause him to sleepwalk for a breif period of time between the ages of 7 and 8. His mother was an Auror for the Ministry and was killed in what was found to be an unfortunate accident when she was hit by a stray curse from a fellow Auror.

Upon graduating from Hogwarts, fuelled by both his passion for Defence Against the Dark Arts and likely a wish to follow in his mother's footsteps, Ethan was accepted as a trainee Auror after receiving grades of Outstanding or Exceeding Expectations in all his N.E.W.T.s. During training for which he outperformed in his Battle Instinct, Duelling in the Dark and History of the Dark Arts courses. Ethan met Grace when visiting his brother, a lycanthrope, and when the time came to purchase a home together they chose to remain close to Ethan's brother.

Born as Grace Everbone on the 22nd of August 1982 to parents Sophia and Pierre in England, Grace spent most of her childhood in France where her family later moved. She has a younger sister, Lily, and older brother Hugo.

Grace's parents were always splitting their time between France and England, it just so happened that her father's work meant that prior to the birth of her older brother, Hugo they chose the settle in London semi-permanently. As such, Grace was born in England, and spent her earliest years in it's busy capital, but when Hugo was nearing school age, they all relocated back to France, to the Everbone estate. Grace was sorted into house Bellefeuille when she attended Beauxbatons, and although she loved her time at the school, she never felt at home in France.

Immediately after graduating from Beauxbatons, Grace set off for Greece with three of her closest friends from Beauxbatons, where she spent the next year observing, tracking and studying the magical creatures native to the region, including Chimaeras, Griffins and Merpeople. When the group decided to head home, Grace instead travelled to England where she returned to London, seeking out her grandmother whom had lived there whilst she was a girl. Grace discovered that her grandmother was the founder of a magical creature sanctuary just outside the city, so spent her time helping out there whilst she completed her training in the Ministry's Beast Division as an Investigator.

Born on the 3rd of January 1985, Alex is the younger brother of Ethan and uncle to Scarlet, his and Ethan's mother was killed not long after his birth.

Aside from this brother, Alex found that he tended not to get on well with other people, specifically other students whilst attending Hogwarts. The loss of his mother at a very young age, and his subsequent youth spent with largely just his father and brother, hardened him prematurely, with this felt stronger after contracting Lycanthropy at the age of thirteen. Like his brother he was sorted into Ravenclaw, but unlike him, actively chose to stay away from many extra curricular activities, instead developing his interest in Astronomy and Herbology. He left school with reasonable grades, a mix of Exceeds Expectations and Acceptable in all but his favourite subjects.

A career as an Astronomer was not a difficult choice for Alex, the perks for him being the fact that he spent the majority of his time working from home and writing up and reporting his findings back to his employer. This allowed him to settle into a small house, some would call cabin, in New Forest in the South of England, here being away from the bustle of busy cities was best for both his work and peace of mind. Being a werewolf became routine to manage, using the Wolfsbane potions he took regularly before his transformation and being in a more remote part of the country meant he quickly felt at ease having to deal with his condition alone. After accidentally infecting his niece with the Lycanthropy disease, he promised his brother and step sister that he would do everything in his power to help her through her transformations and teach her everything he knew about the condition. For a long time afterwards, Alex felt a lot of hate towards himself and what he had in essence forced her to become, but she in time saw it as a gift and fate that she should share it with him.

Born on the 19th of May 1993 in France, Lily is the younger sister of Grace and Hugo. She is the only one of the three Everbone children to have been born in France.

By the time Lily was born, Hugo had already started Beauxbatons and the family had already made the move to France, this made Lily, more so than any of her siblings, much more accustom to the French lifestyle, and she found it much easier to fit in there. Lily was sorted into house Pappilonlisse, an accurate reflection of her love of the arts, of the core subjects she only really enjoyed Potions and Astronomy, instead she much preferred spending time on the core concentrations the school offered, especially Art History, Literature and all aspects of Composition.

She knew from a very young age that she wanted to work in the creative arts, and stayed true to her passion on graduating. Being very close to her sister, and wanting to be apart of her niece's childhood, who had been born towards the end of her time at Beauxbatons, she too made the move the England after graduation. She originally took a role as a columnist for the Daily Prophet whilst working on her own fictional work in her spare time, but was soon able to quit this when she was offered a publishing deal. She has enjoyed that the freedom of being able to work from home for her job has meant she would spend lots of time around her family in London, whilst still taking frequent trips to visit her parents and brother in France.

Born in England on the 27th of October 1980, Hugo is older brother to Grace and Lily, since the passing of his great-grandfather, he is the only living Everbone to display the Parselmouth ability.

Like his great-grandfather before him, Hugo was born a Parselmouth, the ability was known to be a part of the Everbone family, but was rarely seen. Hugo was nine years old when his parents moved the family to France, at Beauxbatons he was sorted into house Ombrelune, meaning each of the Everbone children belonged to different houses, unusual but not surprising considering the siblings differing personalities. Like Scarlet's father, Hugo excelled in subjects such as Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions, aspiring to join the French Ministry.

Hugo did indeed continue onto the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France or French Ministry of Magic after graduating where he trained as an Auror, eventually securing a permanent job there. It was here he met Aurelie Rousseau, another French Auror, the two were together for only a year before Hugo proposed and both reside in Paris, and in September of 2008, Aurelie gave birth to his son, Valentin Everbone.

Born on the 30th of February 1959 as Sophia Harrow, she was raised in England with her two older brothers, George and Theodore.

Sophia is the youngest of three children, being the younger sibling of her two brothers, George and Theodore. Sophia attended Hogwarts, as did her brothers, and like them, was sorted into Ravenclaw. It was here that she quickly realised her skills in Quidditch and found her love for the sport, and was subsequently selected to play as a chaser for her house team in her second year, a position she held throughout her time at the school, eventually taking on the role as captain.

Owing to her natural talent for the sport, Sophia decided to pursue a professional career in Quidditch and was offered a contract with the Wimbourne Wasps. She remained with the team for twelve years, during which time she met Pierre Everbone during a party following one of the team's matches. Following Sophia's retirement from the sport as a player, she sought work as a coach, a role which she was able to continue when her and Pierre moved to France with their two children at the time.

Born in France on the 11th of November 1957, Pierre is the only child of Evelyn and Lawrence Everbone and since the untimely passing of his father has managed the Everbone family assets and estate on request of his mother.

Pierre was born in France to affluent pureblood parents, and was raised in the Everbone estate located in Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche bordering Paris. Like Hugo, Pierre belonged to Ombrelune house during his time at Beauxbatons and maintained a very high academic record, and unlike his future wife did not excel in team sports, though did enjoy broom racing. During the summer before his final year at Beauxbatons, he obtained a volunteering role at the hospital in Paris through which he furthered his interest in medicine.

Pierre's studies continued after graduating whilst he worked to become a Physician. Despite the wealth in the family, Pierre was driven to acquire his own wealth, though was happy to accept the property and other assets from his father's inheritance. It may have been influence from his father or just his lifestyle growing up, but Wesley adopted a slight blood-purist mind set growing up, one that although shared with his wife, was not passed onto his daughters at least. Pierre met Sophia on a visit to England with some colleagues when the group attended an afterparty for a Quidditch match they watched, at the time, Sophia convinced Wesley to stay in England, but later moved back to France where they have remained ever since.

Born in France on the 2nd of March 1931 as Evelyn Laurent to French parents, she attended Beauxbatons as the same time as Lawrence Everbone whom she later married.

Evelyn Laurent grew up in a rural region of France, her father made his name as a farmer on the family's tree farm, their wood used in the manufacture of wands and broomsticks. Growing up in the countryside and through her time at Beauxbatons, Evelyn became particularly interested in the study of magical creatures. Aside from the time she spent with or at least learning about creatures, she had no real enthusiasm for many other subjects and was often described by her professors as a student with potential but no direction.

During her time at Beauxbatons, she grew particularly close to another student, Lawrence Everbone and the two struck up a romantic relationship during their final year. Unbeknownst to Evelyn, Lawrence carried with his family name, a great deal of wealth from his grandparents investments in both property and business in both the muggle and wizarding world. Together they bought the family's main residence in France, the Everbone estate, in which they raised Pierre. The untimely passing of Lawrence however, caused a shift in Evelyn's priorities and she decided to move to England, where her son's family were at the time living, leaving the Everbone estate empty. Here she finally followed her passion and established a creature sanctuary where she and her volunteers would help rehabilitate creatures into the wild where they could.
