The Pack First Meeting Club

Scarlet was so excited to receive the owl informing her of the first meeting of the werewolf club. When starting out at Hogwarts she was worried that she wouldn't be able to find other students that understood what it was like to have to undergo the transformation every full moon, and that if she tried to speak about it with non-wolves they would just be afraid and too scared to be around her.

As she made her way up the staircase from the Slytherin common room to the classroom stated in the owl, Scarlet grew more curious about the other members of the club. It had only been about two years since she was bitten, but Scarlet has been through so many full moons already and had her uncle to help her through them all - after all he owed it to her after being the one that bit her. She thought of all the questions she was going to ask, how long had they been werewolves, how were they turned and did they even like being one? At the very least, she knew that she didn't have to worry about the thought of being alone during her first transformation at Hogwarts.

Scarlet had finally reached the door to the classroom, she couldn't hear much from inside and suspected she might be one of the first to arrive. Pushing through the door, she entered a small classrooms, the majority of the tables and chairs were pushed up against the walls leaving a small circle of chairs in the centre of the room. She couldn't help but smile on seeing the assortment of cookies that had been provided on a separate table, Scarlet got the feeling that the club would be the welcoming and accepting environment she had hoped it would be.

"hello, welcome to the pack! The meeting will began soon, there are cookies on the table over there and we'll happy to have you as a member!"

A fellow Slytherin she knew to be Henry Knight, the co-leader and beta of the pack, welcomed her into the room, she smiled back at him,

"Hi, I'm Scarlet, it's nice to finally meet a member of the pack in person. I can't wait to get started!"

She sat down in the chair nearest to the door looking forward to the arrival of the others; eyeing the plate of cookies, she wondered how long it would be before she would make a grab for the chocolate chip one perched at the top of the pile.

Miranda had hurried from her final class of the day to her dorm, mostly so she could leave her school books and other supplies in a safe spot while she went to the first Pack meeting. She was confident - well, as confident as a constantly worrying Ravenclaw student could get - that the meeting would go well. After all, if it failed after all of the work she'd put into it...well, that would incredibly irritating. Hopefully at least some of the members would show up. That would be enough for her to work with, right? Just a few, that was all she asked.

After a few confusing moments when she got turned around following the wrong corridor (it was the portrait she'd used as a markers fault - he'd moved into a different painting), Miranda finally succeeded in locating the empty classroom where the meeting would be held.

As she stepped inside the door, much to her delight, the Ravenclaw immediately spotted another student inside with Henry, obviously a Slytherin...which meant she had to be the one called Scarlet, right? Miranda had an easier time remembering her name than any of the others, mostly because she was the only Slytherin in their group as of yet other than Henry. In fact, pretty much all of their members were from Gryffindor, now that she thought about it. An interesting fact, if nothing else.

"Hello there!" Miranda exclaimed upon entry, a wide smile on her face. Okay, maybe she was acting a bit too excited, but it was mostly because she was ecstatic to see proof that things weren't going to go belly up immediately, at least. No doubt it might be a bit weird if no one else showed up and it just ended up being the three of them, but that was a start! And the probability that at least a couple more would show was pretty good. "It's nice to see that someone came," she continued, pretty much voicing the thoughts she'd just had. "You're...Scarlet, right?" Miranda fervently hoped she'd guessed correctly, because it probably wouldn't be the best start if she ended up mixing everyone's names up.

It had been a few minutes, and at least one cookie, since Scarlet had arrived for the first meeting. She was looking at the rest of the empty chairs and began to wonder how many others would be turning up, she wasn't even sure how many other students were part of the pack. Scarlet hoped that some were first years, though she was looking forward to hearing from the older years what it was like turning at Hogwarts, she'd heard they get access to some sort of safe house within the grounds.

Scarlet turned her head towards the door as she heard it opening, a beaming Ravenclaw girl stepped into the room, "Hello there!" the girl said, Scarlet noticed her scanning the room, probably noting the turn out so far. Scarlet only knew Henry and the President, Miranda, by name, but couldn't be sure whether this was her, just then, the girl said, "it's nice to see that someone came." Scarlet thought she was probably the 'someone' meaning it was safe to assume the Ravenclaw was Miranda.

Looking now at Scarlet, the girl asked, "you're...Scarlet, right?"

"Yeah that's me... Miranda is it?" The girl smiled back at her. She had so many questions she wanted to ask the two of them, of course, bombarding the pair with all of them at the same time wouldn't be the best idea, but there was no harm in putting out a few questions whilst they were waiting for the others to show.

"So, call it an icebreaker...you two have both been here a year, being a werewolf at Hogwarts, what's it like...I mean with the transformations and other students and stuff?" She hoped either Henry or Miranda would be able to reassure her about the upcoming year.

Aurélie had been anxious and excited all day. From the moment she woke up, went to the Owlery and read the owl that invited her to The Pack’s first meeting. Henry had told her about the club of werewolves and had advised her to join. Aurélie was afraid at first about opening up about her condition but after considering she would get to meet other werewolf students, she was convinced.

Shortly after classes ended Aurélie found her way to her dorm and changed from her Gryffindor school robes to something a bit more comfortable. Out of her wardrobe she picked a bright red sweater that reached just to her waist and a pair of high-waisted black jeans. She paired them with white sneakers and put her hair up in a messy bun. With her hair up and out of her face, the light reflected off her pearl earrings and made her eyes seem golden. Right, off we go! Should I take the invite with me? No, Henry knows who I am.. I hope he’s there already because I don’t know anyone else. Before she left her dorm, she grabbed her scarf in Gryffindor colours and draped it around her neck.

The young student made her way out and to the classroom where the invite told her to be. As she got closer to the classroom, she saw Henry standing by the door greeting a girl with blonde hair. Thankfully Henry is already here. And I’m not late! Aurélie walked up to both of them and said “Hi Henry.” She then turned to the girl who had impressive grey eyes and introduced herself; “Hi, I’m Aurélie.” A blush appeared on Aurélie’s cheeks, she was a little nervous to meet the others and she was also nervous to see Henry again. Ever since their last meet-up, he had popped up in her thoughts quite often. If not daily. Focus Auri. The blonde girl seemed nervous too and she looked around as if she expecting something but Aurélie had no idea what since she had just arrived. One more glance and a smile at Henry and Aurélie walked inside the classroom to meet the others.

Inside the room all tables were pushed aside and in the centre someone placed a circle of chairs. One girl with dark hair was already seated and eagerly looked at a plate of cookies. Another student was there as well. She had blonde wavy hair and seemed quite tan. Aurélie addressed both of the girl as she entered the room and spoke aloud; “Hello, I’m Aurélie.” Not knowing what else to say, the Gryffindor took a seat close to the brunette but left one empty chair between them. The busy day had taken a lot of energy from Aurélie so she couldn’t help but let out a soft yawn. Although the classroom didn’t feel specifically cold or hot, being tired made Aurélie feel a tad chilly so she wrapped her hands in her red and gold scarf.

"Hey, Henry." The Ravenclaw grinned in the boy's direction, then turned to speak with the other, mostly unfamiliar girl. "That's right," Miranda said in response to Scarlet's assumption on her name. She was a bit surprised that the other girl knew what she was called at all, but quickly surmised the correct answer. Before she could answer Scarlet's next words, Henry beat her to it, and she simply ended up nodding alongside the explanation. The Wolfsbane potions were pretty much the most useful thing she'd ever come across (at least in her eyes). Keeping your own mind was a definite improvement over the mindlessness one experienced when transforming without it, and much safer as well, both for the drinker and whoever was nearby.

A nearby noise made her look up, and Miranda was glad to see two more girls enter the room, one after another. The one with golden eyes and dark brown hair introduced herself as Aurélie, while the other, another Gryffindor from the look of her robes, decided to get right to the point. However, her question seemed to be intended for Henry, so Miranda didn't bother trying to formulate an answer, although the girl's nervous tone made the Ravenclaw want to reassure her. After all, the whole point of the club was to alleviate fear of their...otherness, and either grow tolerant of it, or at least learn that not all things needed to be undertaken alone.

Miranda turned to glance around the room quickly, her expression one of joyful triumph. Apparently the majority of her worries had been for naught - it looked like the turn-out had been good, compared to what she'd been dreading. And from what she saw, it seemed like the majority of the attendees weren't overly nervous, excluding the one unnamed girl. Sure, many had plenty of questions, but that was perfectly natural seeing as plenty were first years, and weren't exactly used to having their transformations at Hogwarts, if they were used to having them at all.

Aurélie noticed more people were like herself than she expected. Most of the students in the meeting were girls, she noted. A ravenclaw, gryffindors and slytherins. Aurélie was happy there was quite the diversity of students. Thinking about how she would always have these people to rely on or go to when she needed guidance, she started feeling more comfortable about her attendance to Hogwarts already.

Suddenly, Henry popped up next to her and said; “Aurélie it’s good to see you, I feel like I’ve barely seen you since the start of term. We definitely have to meet later.” To which Aurélie smiled kindly and responded; “Yeah, we should certainly catch up.” The Slytherin hugged her tight before announcing information about the meeting to the whole group. As Henry spoke softer now to Aurélie; “There’s someone I want you to meet.”, he rested his arm around her shoulders and pointed at a girl called Miranda. They stepped closer to the girl and Henry introduced them to each other. “Aurélie, this is Miranda, the werewolf who I told you about. And Miranda, this is Aurélie a truly amazing person.” Aurélie couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed by Henry’s introduction of her. She rolled her eyes at him and faced Miranda. She stretched out her hand to the Ravenclaw and said; “He is exaggerating. It’s nice to meet you Miranda. Henry told me about you and how you two started this club. I’m so glad you invited me today. It’s all very new for me, being a werewolf and staying in Hogwarts too.” Aurélie looked at the pretty blonde in front of her and thought how she looked like a very likeable person. Her wavy blonde hair and athletic build made an intimidating impression on Aurélie.
