32.9cm, Chestnut Wood, Unicorn Hair Whippy, ideal for casting defensive and protective charms, it suits wizards who have a clear mind and heart. WOOD; Reducio This is a most curious, multi-faceted wood, which varies greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and takes a great deal of colour from the personality that possesses it. The wand of chestnut is attracted to witches and wizards who are skilled tamers of magical beasts, those who possess great gifts in Herbology, and those who are natural fliers. However, when paired with dragon heartstring, it may find its best match among those who are overfond of luxury and material things, and less scrupulous than they should be about how they are obtained. Conversely, three successive heads of the Wizengamot have possessed chestnut and unicorn wands, for this combination shows a predilection for those concerned with all manner of justice. CORE; Reducio Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing.

─personality: Lively seems to be the only word that fits Tina. This girl never seems to run out of energy, and channels it through chaos and rash decision making, often to the detriment of herself and others. She is rambunctious, excitable and extremely talkative; this trait in particular can make her difficult to chat to, as she has a tendency to prattle on without allowing others to get a word in. Whilst she's a little air-headed, and certainly not the brightest, her heart is in the right place, and she does her best to remain optimistic and be kind to everyone. Being such an empathetic young girl, feelings - both positive and negative - affect Tina very strongly. She’s the loudest to laugh, but also the quickest to cry, and this hyper-sensitivity makes her unequipped to handle stressful situations with poise. Additionally, she has a jealous disposition, and becomes spiteful towards others very quickly, whether it be envy of their possessions, their talents or their appearance. This is due to deep-seated insecurities and feelings of inadequacy, but she finds comfort and reassurance in her friends.

Tina stands at a modest 4’7 and has retained her youthful, rounded features from the year before. She has brown skin, large black eyes and a smile that never seems to fade. Her hair is worn natural; thick, curly and black, reaching about her shoulders. Recently, she’s been experimenting with different hairstyles like buns and braids.

ミ★ HISTORY ───

─pre-hogwarts Reducio Martyna was born in Lancaster on July 18th 2009 to Spanish muggles. Her parents met in school, and ended up together after Marcos (her father) broke up with his at the time girlfriend to be with Alana (her mother). They were married relatively quickly, and moved away from their home in Barcelona shortly after Alana gave birth to Tina's older sister Lucina. This was because Marcos found work in England after becoming unemployed. Both her parents worked very hard to get themselves to a stable position - her mother working part-time in order to look after Lucie and her father working full - until four years later, Tina was born. Neither of Tina's parents were magical; neither of her grandparents are, either. In fact, the whole family appeared to be very normal and uninteresting! Her father Marcos studied fine art in school, although had little time to nurture this hobby as a potential career thanks to his full-time teaching job, and her mother worked in sales. Truly, the family have no idea why these magical abilities have surfaced now, or where they've come from in the family tree. In the coming years, Alana Romero would have four other successful pregnancies, resulting in Tina's siblings Patrick, Sophia, Isabel and Ezra. Tina is most friendly with her brother Patrick, mostly due to the small gap in ages, however the whole Romero family is very close as a whole and always has been. Their home environment was a loving one and, despite money being short, each child felt that they had everything they needed. Any struggles with money were kept hidden from Tina and her siblings by Marcos and Alana. The only ways in which the children felt burdened by their parents financial position was in the lack of extracurricular activities they could participate in, both in and out of the house. There were no games consoles (technology is the magic of the muggle world), no clubs, no going to the cinema as a family or going out for a meal. Things like this only made Tina grow closer with her brothers and sisters, with them as her main company throughout the day. Additionally, whilst she wasn’t an academic like Lucie or Pat, Tina was very popular in school, and made up for the lack of company beyond their small community by befriending everyone she could. Finding out that Lucie was magical was devastating for Tina. Her sister was a huge source of jealousy growing up for a multitude of reasons. For one, she was very pretty, and much prettier than Tina perceived herself. Two, she was very intelligent, with scores on tests that Tina couldn't even begin to aspire to. Three, she was the first child, a role which comes with many perks. For example, Lucie was taught Spanish before Alana and Marcos decided it was too difficult to keep up; she always got the new things, which were then handed down to Tina and her siblings; she was praised the most, being their wonderful first miracle. None of this 'special treatment' was intentional on her parents behalf, but Tina couldn't help but envy the way Lucie was treated. By no means did Tina dislike her current life, but with all these wonderful, impossible things Lucie was going to experience, obviously she'd be upset. Of course, it was this flurry of emotions that led to her first display of magic, and thus acceptance into Hogwarts. When Tina received that letter on her eleventh birthday, she was absolutely ecstatic! She had already done extensive research on Hogwarts in her own time, and also had Lucie, who would reluctantly relay information about the place whenever she returned home. Her new life was just around the corner, and she couldn’t wait!

─the magic Reducio As mentioned before, the Romero family had no known connection to magic, which was why it was such a surprise when Lucie was told, on her eleventh birthday, that she was a witch. It was just gone noon that day, and everybody was sat around the table eating cake and watching Lucie open her cards and presents. Tina was just enjoying being able to celebrate. Birthdays always had this magical (pun intended) feeling about them and she loved it! Furthermore, Lucie was having some of her very cool, older school friends over that night for a sleepover, which meant Tina could spend time trying to get their attention (this was something that Lucie was very much not looking forward to). Everything was going smoothly, until that fated knock at the door. Marcos had gotten up to answer it, but didn't recognise the lady standing outside. She didn't look out of the ordinary at all - dressed in normal, everyday clothes, with plain hair and makeup. There was nothing unusual about her appearance, and yet she still seemed strange. She welcomed herself in, introduced herself, and declared that Marcos and Alana's oldest daughter was, in fact, a witch. Of course, like any sane person, Marcos laughed this off. Alana didn't find it so funny, but her light mood led to her shuffling the stranger out in a much calmer manner than you might expect of her. Lucie was also unperturbed by this. She was far to reasonable of an eleven year old to even consider such a thing to be true, dismissing it as a funny little birthday surprise from her parents. Tina and her siblings, however, were beyond excited. It didn't take long for Patrick to start asking Lucie to do a trick, Tina pulling on her sisters sleeve. Magic was real! This was any child's dream! Alana and Marcos, becoming increasingly frustrated at this point, asked the stranger to leave, more firm now. She didn't listen, of course. It was her duty to Hogwarts to tell the Romero's what was going on with their daughter. She started probing them with questions. Has Lucie ever done anything out of the ordinary? Something that seemed impossible, but that they'd just decided to overlook. Her parents considered this for a moment, but remained reluctant. Finally, their eccentric visitor, left with no choice, closed the door behind her and performed some simple transfiguration spells on the furniture laying around their hallway. This was, of course, completely mystifying to the children. To their parents, it was horrifying. After a small panic, the witch turned everything back, and helped guide them around to a more productive conversation. It took a while, but eventually Alana and Marcos were convinced, and everyone seemed very excited. That was, until, the news came that Lucie would be able to go to Hogwarts, a magic school, and that none of her siblings could come. Tina had never felt such disappointment in her life. Magic was real, but only Lucie could do it? She immediately left the room where everyone was, making a point that she was very upset, and stormed upstairs. Tears poured out of her eyes: angry tears. She slammed the door behind her, leaned back against it, and started sobbing. It wasn't fair. After all that, she couldn't have it. Lucie was magical and she wasn't. Just like the visitor had said, her sister had displayed signs of magic throughout her childhood, which notified the ministry of her abilities. Tina, on the other hand, couldn't think of a single time she'd done something like that! Hell, it was just Lucie! Not even her mama or papa had done something like that, but Lucie had! Gosh, she really had to have everything didn't she? Rage welled up inside her. She hated feeling jealous like this, but it really wasn't fair. When Marcos had come up to see what was wrong a couple minutes later, Tina yelled for him to go away and slammed her fist against the door so hard her skin broke. That was when it happened. Over the other side of the room, her window shattered, scattering broken glass all over her bed and carpet. Tina screamed. Something horrifying was happening and she knew it! She pulled the door open, running outside and immediately clinging to her father, panting and out of breath. The visitor loomed by, taking a note rather ominously. Although it took her a minute to calm down and realise, that display of magic was what proved her worthy of Hogwarts.

Alana is a pretty cold and distant character, something which Tina has struggled to accept. Previously very free-spirited and kind, Alana seemed to grow more stressed and closed off around the time that she had to pick up more hours at work. These days, it seems as though she spends more time with her work colleagues than her children. Although Tina and Sophie still have a decent connection with her, Lucie seems to ignore her mother entirely. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that she knows very little about magic...

Marcos is the heart and soul of the family. However exhausted and stressed he might be after a long day of work, you’d never know. He’s always there for his children, dedicating time to playing games with them each night, no matter what time he has to wake up the next morning. He’s a very strong person, also, and would rarely be caught upset, preferring to brush it off and continue being the gentle giant of the family. Lately, he seems more disconnected from Alana than ever, but any problems that there might be between them are kept private.

Lucie is a no nonsense sort of girl Tina has always been incredibly jealous of her, for a number of reasons. She was always the smart one, always the pretty one, and always the popular one. When the girls were younger, Lucie could be quite mean to Tina, but she played without complaint, naturally docile. Recently, however, Lucie has had a bit of a shift in personality. Being away from home means they didn’t see each other much, but it’s more than that. The tensions between Alana and Lucie are obvious. Painfully obvious.

She instantly found herself admiring his confidence and knowledge when they met, and him being mean to her only seemed to make this admiration grow! She fully intends to make it up to him for the way he (very bitterly) defended her from Ollivander's wrath.

She can't help but wonder: has she done something wrong? ★ Lindsey Springhall | cool From what Tina's seen of her, she's pretty stoic (but in like, a cool older sibling way). She's also almost definitely going out with Wyatt Starkey! ★ Frost Cira | idolised One of Tina's prefects, Tina thinks Frost is the prettiest girl she's ever seen. She is such a good baker too! Tina wants to be just like her one day, and just won't stop staring. ★ Dewey Hughes | wimp Dewey will pretty much go along with whatever she says, Tina has come to learn. She can't really complain; he's smart, academic and very good at problem solving, even if he lacks the backbone make up for it.

They've been buddy buddy from day one when they met on the train, although their conflicting personalities certainly make their relationship an explosive one. Nevertheless, these girls pull through every falling-out they have, and come back together stronger than ever. ★ Hanako Tone | total creep After an unfortunate start to the Masquerade Ball, Tina somehow ended up lumped in with the mysterious fish-boy that is Hanako Tone. She knew he was a total weirdo from the moment he pulled out that creepy paper bag and plonked it on her head. What she doesn't know is that they're more connected than they appear. ★ Arissa Wright | gossip buddy Head of the Gossip Association (consisting of only Tina and her), the Hufflepuff can't help but wonder where Arissa gets all her intel from. No one can deny it makes for good conversation between the two, of course, but that girl must be a real sneak... ★ Wyatt Starkey | not sure At first, he was kinda cute. Then, an asshole. Now, Tina isn't sure what to make of him. She doesn't think his family are evil murderers anymore at the very least, and he sometimes says funny things. What more can you ask for, really? ★ Ruby Cazares | warming to Tina has encountered Ruby a couple times now, but always when she's making trouble. Would it be so hard for the girl to find her doing something productive or kind instead of making mischief? Despite the reputation she seems to be building for herself, Ruby is quite tolerant and reasonable, compared to other prefects at least. Part of her wonders if maybe she's liked by Ruby. ...Nah. ★ Elizabeth Isaacs | despised Simply put, Elizabeth Isaacs is vile. A disgusting, snakey, horrible girl who one day is going to get everything she deserves. Tina cannot stand her; the very thought of her makes the Hufflepuff swell with rage.
