Personality

Asteria is quite a self-confident and independent young girl. She prefers to do her own thing much of the time and she rarely cares what others think of it. Her hot-headed and sarcastic temperament can be a bit overwhelming at points but once you get to know her, she'll be a caring and loyal friend who is good at giving logical advice. Her loyalty is very selective, however, she is quite slow to trust new people.

Meeting new people doesn't really scare Asteria. She isn't the most talkative and bubbly person ever and she prefers to stick to those who she knows well rather than those she considers strangers. If someone talks to her then she would almost always reply, sometimes with a witty comeback if she deems it necessary. Her attitude might seem a bit rude, stuck-up, and aloof at points but most of the time it's not purposeful unless she truly despises someone and finds them intolerable.

Appearance

With her natural appearance, Asteria is a scrawnily built girl who barely reaches 4'10 in height. She has light blond hair that reaches her armpits and a round face. Her eyes are on the smaller size but aren't anything unusual. They are green colored for the most part but they also have a hint of blue in them. Her skin is quite pale and burns easily in the summer. When dressed in muggle attire, Asteria prefers to wear casual clothing, mainly t-shirts, running shorts, and leggings but she also has a jean jacket that she almost always has on when it gets cold enough.

History

Asteria Knight was born on a dull and rainy day in October to Madeleine and Oliver Knight. Madeleine was a healer and had attended Beauxbatons as a child in the Ombrelune house. Oliver, however, was a muggle author who enjoyed writing stories for his children. They lived in a smallish-sized townhouse in the heart of London for the first eleven years of her life with two cats, George and Butterscotch, and her younger sister, Lyra who was born when she was three.

When she was just a toddler, her Metamorphmagus abilities began to show up. At first, they were subtle, only one feature at a time but as she got older, her abilities only grew more and more obvious. Soon enough, her appearance was changing based on her mood. She spent time perfecting her ability and soon enough, she could change her features on her own, although not all at once and not without exhaustion afterward. Most of the time Asteria just let her features be, she didn't really have a reason to do otherwise. Sometimes she did like to play around with it though. It was a good source of entertainment when she was bored but that was really the only time she used it.

When she was five, Asteria had gone to the park with her family when she had her first brush with magic. She had been playing with her favorite toy, a purple stuffed cat who was named Elizabeth when she had accidentally dropped it into a bramble full of thorns. When it was falling, she tried to grasp for it and it floated right back into her hand. After seeing this, she ran to go show her father who didn't really know what to do with the situation and told her to ask her mother about it. Upon hearing the story, Madeleine instantly recognized it as magic and was quite proud of Asteria's feat.
