Background

Callie’s origins find themselves rooted firmly in the muggle world, largely free from any hint of magical influence. After all there was very little magic of the traditional variety to be found on a family farm just outside Inverness...unless you counted Ralph the escape artist chicken as a wizard in his own right. For years the family lived in blissful ignorance of the wizarding world, instead focusing their attention on the very real reality of caring for both a farm and a young family. Despite having relatives spanning the globe, the Jensen’s rarely ever allowed themselves to be away from home for long. Running a farm was a lot of work, work that rarely ever allowed for time off. Subsequently both Callie and her older brother Adrian were often left to entertain themselves in the vast countryside and boy, there was a lot of it to explore. So much in fact that it didn’t take long for Callie to develop an adventurous soul in the embrace of the nearby forest.

Disregarding the occasional broken bone from a tree climb gone wrong, life was rather uneventful for Callie. That is until one winter evening Callie opted to venture into the deeper reaches of the forest in an attempt to avoid helping with setting the table. Their attempt at avoiding the perils of household chores was going quite well..until they found themselves confronted by a stream blocking their way back to dinner. Naturally even considering to go around the stream was out of the option as tonight was taco night and to dream of being late to such an affair was a crime in itself. So the siblings instead opted for the more dangerous option of crossing the stream over an old log. The ordeal went spectacularly for Adrian but for Callie? Not so much. Alas her clumsy nature got the better of her when she tripped over her own feet, sending her plummeting to the stream below. The girl let out a scream in anticipation of the cold waters...but the chill never came.

Instead she found herself hovering mere inches above the ice cold water.

Naturally nobody but Callie even believed something like that had happened. Instead they mostly wrote it off as another of her wild and wonderful stories..until the letter from Hogwarts showed up in the form of an older cousin and head of Slytherin by the name of Nora. Now any thoughts of leading a plain old muggle life was thrown out of the window and Callie? Well, she was as excited about the whole affair as ever.

Personality

Callie has very little qualms about putting herself out there and does her utmost to tackle life with her signature bubbly attitude. She has very little time for dwelling on the darker side of life and tries her best to see the good in every person, even if they have not done much to deserve it. However, she is not beyond being petty or confrontational as if she has an issue with the person, she would much rather just say it to their face than let things stew. Ever since becoming close friends with Thomas Baines she has even grown a little meaner, by her standards anyway. Callie has very little trouble striking up a conversation with anyone as the real issue lies in getting her to be quiet. This can prove to be a little much for those who lean towards a more introverted nature, but Callie does her best to reign things in if she notices any discomfort. After all she is more than aware that her extroverted nature is not everyone’s cup of tea. However beneath it all Callie cannot shake the feeling of inferiority to compared to some of her peers. She knows it’s illogical to think herself inferior due to circumstances of birth, but she can’t help but feel two steps behind those who grew up with magic. Despite her grades painting a very different picture Callie believes herself to be an imposter in a world she doesn’t at all belong in.

Appearance

Callie isn’t particularly tall and if anything can be classed as oddly short for her age. For what she lacks in height she makes up for in bruises thanks to her annoyingly clumsy nature which she seems to refuse to grow out of. Not that she cared too much anyway, she has much bigger things to worry about than appearance.

Such carelessness extends to her thin blonde hair which is usually pulled into a haphazard bun these days. On the rare occasion she allows it to hang freely it extends just past her shoulders since she regards long hair in general as an annoyance. Callie doesn’t have brilliant eyesight and in her first two years in Hogwarts relied heavily on her glasses which were often the victim of a repair charm or two. However ever since a glasses related incident in the Ravenclaw tower she’s taken to wearing contact lenses but her glasses continue to make an occasional appearance. Underneath these spectacles lies a vast array of freckles, pale blue eyes and more often than not a wide toothy grin.

Callie's school robes seem to always be slightly too big for her judging by the way she has to roll up the sleeves constantly. Despite this the girl seems to take some degree of pride in ensuring her uniform is kept neat and tidy even if she doesn't afford the same privilege to her hair. This neglect extends to her footwear which have similarly seen better days and are occasionally covered in dried mud. Pinned next to the crest on the robe usually resides two pins which Callie received as a gift before departing for Hogwarts. More specifically one pin depicts a rather delighted looking frog and the other a sleeping eevee, both of which were gifted to Callie prior to her arrival at Hogwarts.

When not wearing uniform Callie usually sticks to the tried and tested attire of a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Of course Callie takes an immense amount of pride in her growing selection of graphic tees, especially her collection of Pokemon themed ones.

Ellen Jensen // Callie and her mother are incredibly close, with Callie often sharing just about everything with her mother. Ellen is also partly to blame for Callie's curious nature through the endless encouragement of her adventures - even when they result in injuries.

Mark Jensen // Callie is not as close with her father in comparison with her mother but she loves him all the same. While the pair do not see each other often thanks to the incredible amount of work it takes to run a farm, the pair love and respect each other no less.

Adrian Jensen // Callie and her older brother are as thick as thieves and are often up to something or another. While Adrian is slightly jealous of Callie's future within the wizarding world he does not hold this against his sister, continuing to love her all the same.

Hjørdis Jensen // While she didn't get to see her cousin a lot before coming to Hogwarts, Callie had looked up to the woman her entire life. Not getting to see her often seems to have only deepened Callie's adoration and love for the head of Slytherin. Callie tries her hardest to stay out of trouble in fear of one of Nora's infamous lectures.

Phel Atwood (Ravenclaw) // Callie first met Phel on the Hogwarts Express and has been friends with the boy ever since, often pestering him with her endless array of questions about the wizarding world.

Thomas Baines (Ravenclaw) // Duelling partner and close friend who Callie happened to meet aboard the Hogwarts Express. While some view Thomas as some kind of bully Callie doesn't view him in the same light - even if he can be quite annoying sometimes.

Elias Weare (Ravenclaw) // Another fellow Ravenclaw that Callie met on the Hogwarts Express, who Callie also enjoys perstering. Callie finds entertainment in Elias' and Thomas' rivalry but has been known to break up their fights on occasion.

Brendan Rose (Ravenclaw) // Callie has known Brendan for a fair few years as he is a family friend. While he doesn't see the boy as often as she would like Callie is over the moon the boy is also attending Hogwarts.

Sylvie O'Niell (Gryffindor) // Callie met Sylvie in one of the classes the pair share together and get along like a house on fire. Callie very much enjoys her company and finds excitement in their various escapades.

Miranda Everest (Ravenclaw) // Callie and Miranda met under strange circumstances. Namely by Miranda falling down from a tree infront of Callie. Thankfully the pair got on brilliantly and Miranda made it through the encounter unscathed.

May Moonstar (Hufflepuff) // Yet another person Callie had the pleasure of meeting in the abandoned toilets and got along with spectacularly. Even if Callie managed to get injured when the pair first met.

Through The Years

First Year | 2019-2020
Callie's first year in Hogwarts was one filled with firsts, as is common with any muggleborn attending Hogwarts for the first time. Having been informed of her magical nature by her cousin Nora, Callie attended Hogwarts for the very first time and met numerous odd personalities across the way. Most notably is her closest and most annoying friends Thomas Baines and Elias Weare who she pestered with every question she could think of. Whilst in her first year Callie started to develop a mild insecurity about her own spellcasting capabilities despite achieving outstanding grades across the board.

Second Year | 2020 - 2021
At the beginning of her second year Callie witnessed Thestrals for the first time and dove right into researching the creatures in an attempt to prove her doubting friend Phel wrong. To try and combat her growing insecurity about her spellcasting capability Callie also signed up for the duelling club which quickly turned into an obsession. The girl enjoyed victory in her first two forays into the world of duelling but her luck seemed to run out towards the end of the year. Within the span of a month or so the girl lost both her duel and had the good fortune to be kebabed by a cursed spider in the common room....fun right?
