Lunar Year LanternsWith the Lunar New Year approaching on January 25th, 2020, Professor Cy and the Gryffindor prefect Griseldis Edelhardt want to bring a bit of their culture to Hogwarts!
Three groups of 5-7 students with no prerequisites are invited to Cy's classroom to make paper lanterns, try their hand at a little calligraphy, and taste some Nian Gao, courtesy of Gris, as she gives retellings of various folk tales connected to the culture of CNY—the folk stories of the Chinese Zodiac, the Nian Monster, and the Rat Wedding, one for each group.
At the end of the errand, Cy will distribute a 紅包，or red envelope, containing 8 sickles to each participant who completes a word count of 800 words, another tradition that she hopes everyone will enjoy!How do I claim this Errand?
Just post saying which group you want to be in! Each group and its current participants are listed below. Keep in mind that each group will be told a different folktale! I did some research and found Piérre is an Earth/Metal Rat, which is kind of cool... (His original inspiritation, by happenstance, is a perfect twelve years older than him, being 23 and a Fire rat! Haha!)
