Describe why this fits your character:
Having lived in a rather rural neighbourhood her childhood was rather ... lonely. There were only a few children that were the same age as her and although she had a friend or two, they were never always around. So Macia had to look for something that would entertain her during the days and weeks of holidays. She found distraction in the garden.

Which first started as some basic weeping and collecting of dry leaves quickly developed into a deep passion of tending for flowers and admiring the beauty of the wilderness. Her mother in a weaker moment had assigned Marcia a small patch in the garden, where she could plant whatever she wanted. At first she ran around, collected flowers she would find somewhere growing wild on the street and put them into her little patch. Then she would grab berries and burry them into the earth. She then wanted to make her little garden more beautiful by decorating it. Who wouldn't want a nice looking garden with flowers, berry bushes and some stones?

The stones she would find weren't beautiful or pretty, but they were many, so she used them to garnish her little patch.

Things were different when her mother would take her and her brother to visit their grandparents. The MacCuthais lived far north of Scotland in solitude but with a big mansion and a wide unkept area. Naturally, everything was exciting so Marcia wandered through the mansion and saw the potential for decoration in everything. She saw a teapot with flowers which she wanted to take with her. She could already imagine putting some earth in it and plant some ivy. Then there were stones, more beautiful than anything she would find at home on the streets.

Of course, she knew stealing was not permitted, so she walked to her Grandmother with everything she would find and ask if she could have it. Marcia had to learn that the answer was more often "no" than "yes", but sometimes her Grandmother would smile at her and nod, allowing her to take things with her. Instead of a teapot, she would get a chipped cup, that she later would use as a little water fountain. Instead of the beautiful shiny stones, she was allowed to have some bangs that were hanging at the curtains. What she never got, however, was that statue in the entry, that was completely grown over. Her mother had told her, that statue was already unrecognizable during her childhood, so she could tell Marcia what the statue was depicting. Marcia had promised her Grandfather she would take care of the wild ivy and clean it if she could get the statue, that would look so nicely beside her patch, but he had just ruffled her hair and sent her away with a kiss.

Even without the statue, her pockets were usually filled with things she had gotten or found on her way. Everything was useful in her mind and most of the things would find a place in her little garden. And even the things that wouldn't ... well ... nobody wanted them so she used them to make her room prettier. Maybe the statue would someday fit in her room if she wasn't allowed to have it for her garden?

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for:
First Year: Perfectionist:
Reducio
Describe why this fits your character: Perfectionists are found in almost every race on Earth. Muggles even have their share of Perfectionists. Wizard Perfectionists want everything perfect including the spells they produce.

Lallie has been a perfectionist for almost her entire life. You could even say it's a bit of an addiction. In fact, it is by all accounts an addiction.

When Lallie was a small girl she didn't have a care in the world. She would run around carelessly, playing with her friends and just enjoying life without the void of existence and the cruelness of the world hanging over the small Lallie's head yet. Then her parents started butting into her life.

"Leo's got into Gifted at your age." "Leo was taking math with the older kids at your age" "Oh I remember Leo got a 42/40 on that exam. What did you get, a 40/40?"

These voices would ring in and out of Lallie's head for most of her childhood. Her parents would always compare everything she did to the way her older brother, Leo, did it. It was as if her parents would never think anything Lallie did was good enough. Leo was a child prodigy, god forbid Lallie didn't follow in his footsteps and become a child prodigy too.

Lallie wanted to please her parents though, as most children do her age. It started out tame, Lallie would put so much effort into everything she worked on. This allowed her to soar in her classes but of course, her parents only saw how she failed in comparison to Leo.

Lallie wasn't about to give up though. She put all her blood, sweat, and tears into everything she did. She worked so hard for such a hard time she naturally experienced burnout. She sunk deeper and why'll she was able to keep her grades afloat for a time her grades and her work slowly dropped.

Her teachers noticed this and talked to her parents about it. Her parents looked so disappointed in her. Their smart girl's grades had dropped. Seeing that look in their eyes made something snap in her head.

'You'll never be good enough for your parents.' 'You're just a trashy version of your brother.' 'How can you be so stupid as to let your grades drop?'

This voice was different from her parents' voices, it was deep, warped and evil sounding.  The way Lallie's life turned out she developed a deep-rooted inferiority complex. Everything she did was never good enough, everything she did she told herself she could do better, even if she couldn't.

Lallie doesn't blame her parents or her brother for this. This wasn't their fault, it wasn't anyone's fault. She still loves her parents and her brother. They are very loving and nurturing even if her parents could sometimes be too critical.

That's how Lallie became a Perfectionist. A bitter psychological self-hatred rooted deeply in her brain. While many were Perfectionists to strive to be better, Lallie was a Perfectionist because it was an addiction. Now it's everything she does down to how she uses the magic ingrained in her.

Second Year: Perfectionist #2:
Reducio
Describe why this fits your character: As learned in Lallie's first year Lallie has an inferiority complex caused by her parents. They constantly compared her to her brother, Leo, and made Lallie feel like she was never good enough. That made Lallie develop an inferiority complex, rewiring her brain making her think everything she did wasn't good enough.

Something happened in her First Year at Hogwarts. Lallie met someone, someone who changed something inside her. This person was the first person Lallie has ever really liked in a romantic sense. That difference changed something inside of Lallie, it made her feel differently about herself. It was as if this person cut through part of Lallie's inferiority complex, something about them was more important to Lallie than that voice.

At first, nothing much changed other than Lallie somehow managed to stand up to the voice inside her head when she was comforting this person. After a while, though, she grew closer to the person and suddenly another voice came in her head whenever she was around them. This voice was nicer, it put reason into Lallie's head, and most importantly it countered the bad voice

'Don't beat yourself over everything you say to them. They clearly don't mind''Don't listen to that. You're a good person.'

It was as if this weight was lifted from Lallie when she was with this person, she could just be herself. That is until she went away from this person. The good voice in her head kept the bad one at bay when Lallie was with them but it disappeared when she wasn't. Ever since the appearance of the good voice, the bad voice has become worse, more hostile when it's in Lallie's head. Almost animal-like in its survival instincts.

'It's your fault your mom double-crosser. She probably wanted to make you miserable which caused the rest of your  family to be miserable''Why do you have to be such a weakling? You'll get no where in life if you're just a scrawny sitck.'

It was awful, Lallie hated it so much. She found herself constantly in the bathroom sobbing her eyes out as the voice in her head constantly screamed at her every little thing that was wrong with her. Lallie's inferiority complex was spiraling out of control and she didn't realize how bad it was getting.

Lallie did what she always did ever since this thing showed up in her brain. She listened to it, she wanted to get better, even if she knew deep down she would never be satisfied. She focused all her attention on her studies and spells. She's pushed herself so she rarely fails at casting a spell, but of course, it is never enough for her.

The voice in her head keeps pushing and pushing, Lallie keeps working and working. She says she's a Perfectionist but really it's much deeper than that. The way her brain has been rewired refuses her to not do everything perfectly, unless she want to punish herself. The sad truth is that Lallie is stuck in a viscous Inferiority complex that refuses her to do anything less than perfect.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Binding Mark
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Often, it’s said that where there is rage, fear lurks beneath. Above all else, Savannah Rose is afraid. The 11-year-old spent the vast majority of her short life, with no idea who she is. Her birth certificate says that she is the daughter of Veronica Rose, the space for her father’s name blank. The odd scars on her body from being pushed down steps and dragged through parking lots suggest otherwise; that she has no mother. No family to care for her, to worry about her when she’s 7 years old and lost in her own neighbourhood. There’s no one to check in on the girl when she’s 9 years old and spending 14 hours alone in the library. So, if she’s not her mother’s daughter, who is she?

A freak perhaps. Glass explodes in glittering shards when she screams. When tears drip down her face, leaving burning, wet tracks across her cheeks—the room trembles. With her knees drawn up and hugged tightly to her chest, face burrowed in the shallow cranny between her skinny legs—her bed shakes as violently, in sync with the raspy, heaving sobs that leave her mouth. The wooden twin bed frame rattles roughly against the floor, leaving deep scrapes in the dark panelling. She couldn’t control the things that happened when she was upset, the tears always came no matter how hard she tried to stifle them.

It was only a few weeks before her 11th birthday that she learned the truth and it was then, for the first time in her life that she had a modicum of certainty about who she was. Savannah could now look in the mirror at her reflection, that according to her mother, was far too like her father’s—and she could smile. She wasn’t a freak, she wasn’t Veronica’s. She was a witch. A magical creature. She had power and by God, she was determined to learn how to use it.

But don't forget fear breeds anger.

Savannah’s train ride to Hogwarts was spent alone. She occupied a single, empty cabin and during the two-hour journey to the highlands of Scotland, she fell victim to her own anxiety. It seized her with the same lightning speed a snake attacked a mouse. And its grip was crippling. The only thing she could do to keep from succumbing to tears, was turn to her anger, a little bubbling cauldron in her belly. The girl was terrified that she would arrive at Hogwarts the one place—no the only place she ever believed that she could belong to, and they would turn her away. Tears welled in her eyes at the mere thought of rejection.

Instead of crying, Savannah increased the fire that now blazed beneath the cauldron in her stomach and as her rage bubbled over her tears receded, and the hurt burned away.

They would try to tell her that she wasn’t magical enough. That she was too stupid and weak to be a part of their magical school and by the time the train slowed to a stop, Savannah had buried her tears and discovered a newfound resolve. She’d prove them all wrong and burn that beautiful castle to the ground before she allowed anyone to kick her out. She was enough and she’d show them all.

Savannah made her first pair of friends and her millionth enemy in the library. Tatiana Crane & Marla Quinlan—the first two people to ever understand her. While they also were exposed to her passion and brilliance, the two young women have also been privy to her temper, to the untamed cruelty that swims beneath the surface of her skin. They saw it all—everything she was, and still, they remained at her side. Such an experience should have made her happy, confident in her relationship with her new friends. Instead,  after it tempered her rage, cooling her down just enough to let that oily beast come slithering back into her mind, her anxiety returned to eat at her confidence.
What if they weren’t truly her friends? What if they didn’t accept her and were just lying to her face? What if they were plotting to get her expelled from Hogwarts?

What if--

The ability to brand a person gave her a technique to channel her fear, her slippery anxieties that crept into her mind when her guard was down. After all, if a person willing submitted to her mark—how could they ever leave her, hurt her? If they accepted her in their hearts, just as much as she accepted them, their bond would be unbreakable. And Savannah considered nothing more valuable than the relationships she would cultivate with her wizarding kinfolk.

The mark-- It would be a symbol of her strength. It meant that someone else had deemed her worthy enough to publicly express their loyalty, and perhaps even their love. The child knows no greater form of expression. Savannah’s two closest friends would join her on her journey down the path to greatness, proudly standing at her side the entire time.

The 11-year-old couldn’t help but wonder if that’s what love felt like. Complete and utter acceptance. The willingness to establish a bond that transcended atypical relationships. Such a connection was sublime and for a child that had never known love before, it was addictive. As Savannah’s following grows, she will be forced to make important choices. After all, how she chooses to treat her loyal followers, will inevitably temper what kind of mark the ambitious witch will leave on Wizarding society.

Name of Ability: Keen Eye
Why It Fits My Character:
Teiki has always been the explorer. Her favorite past time would be finding any place she could fit into, and just looking at it. Maybe it was the idea of secrets hiding in small, unknown places. Maybe it was the thrill of seeing something new, even if it was just a new chair that was slowly falling apart. Teiki would explore. This constant exploration helped her eyesight. In a shorter amount of time, she would be able to notice small details that others wouldn't have noticed. She also would be able to spot the differences compared to how she had seen it last. These constant explorations kept her eyesight sharp and fast. She would challenge herself to just stop. Notice the differences. Try to spot any new details out of the familiar paintings and pictures.

Maybe she got it from the games her mother made up. Liliana always challenged Teiki to puzzles whenever she found them. Word search became a game that she and her mother would compete to see who could finish the word search first. Spot the difference was a challenge to notice the changes in a well-loved, cluttered family room. For many years, Teiki constantly lost. And lost. Her mother always had better eyesight. Sometimes it was simple luck that Teiki would find the difference. But she practiced, she would take the sheets of word search from her teacher and do them at home, after she had finished the assignment. She would try to play spot the difference whenever she went outside. Soon, she caught up to her mother. The wins would swing from Teiki, to her mother, then back to Teiki as they continued to do their daily challenge.

Maybe it was when she was seven, and her mother had had twins. Making sure the cluttered house wasn't dangerous for the two newborns. Constantly keeping an eye on the babies to make sure they stayed out of trouble. The twins constant wide-eyed surprise at anything caused a lot of rushing between a nice drink to making sure the children didn't hurt themselves on the sides of tables and shelves. The word searches would be scattered around with mixed shouts as the two young ones tried to figure out what else they could grab and put into their mouths. As the twins started to be able to walk, the shouts now came from any obstacle that the twins could possibly stumble into. Teiki's exploration was now mixed with making sure Night and Daisy were fine and not about to get themselves into harm's way.

Or maybe, it was sheer luck.

Describe why this fits your character:
“No, I’m not letting you take a class just so you can beat that boy up!”
James’ father was cutting vegetables in the kitchen as James waved a flier at him.
“Well, it’s not really about that,” James pleaded, “It’s about exercise! I just think it would be a good way to keep fit,”
James’ Mum entered the room, a leg of lamb in her hands ready to put onto roast.
“Since when did you want to do exercise!?” she laughed.
James’ father responded for him, “He doesn’t, Mary.” He said, “He wants to take a MMA class so that he can beat up that boy who’s been giving him trouble at school.”
“James, we’ve told you, if you’re having trouble at school, then you need to talk to your teachers about it, and if that doesn’t work, then we can always arrange for you to go to another school.”
“No, you’re not listening Mum and Dad. Josh – well – he’s not really bothering me anymore – Pete and I- we kind of scared him off”
“Oh that sound fine then…” his father said sarcastically, placing down the knife, “So you already beat him up.”

“No! No nothing like that… he just… well, I don’t really know exactly what happened – he floated up into the air and sort of just… dropped” James mimed the strange event with his hand.

“Is that some sort of euphemism?” his Dad said.
“No!” James replied exasperated, “Look I don’t want to beat up Josh. It’s just, Pete and I want to… well we’d like to not be so weedy. We want to build up some muscle so kids won’t pick on us in the first place.”
James’ parents looked at one another meaningfully and then back to James.
“Fine,” his father said, “But I’m doing it with you”.

The next afternoon, the tall thing man and two nine year old boys stood outside a large ballet hall, tucked behind the chippy at the end of James’ street.

A large, slightly grubby looking German gentleman greeted them at the door.

“Ah yes. You are the three who wish to learn the glorious and wonderful art of dominating your fellow man.” He held a long hard stare on the three and waved a large hand at them, “Please come in, come in!”
Pete leaned over to James and whispered in his ear. “If we get murdered tonight I’m bringing you back to life an killing you again”
James snorted, “It’ll be fine! You’ll be thanking me when you’re totally ripped come summer”

Their German instructor explained to them that he had been a member of the German special forces, and explained, that he had been in more than 200 hand-to-hand combat scenarios in his career.

James silently wondered what had occurred to land him in a defunct ballet studio in Bromley but decided not to ask.

In the end, the man was actually an excellent teacher. Over the next four months, James, his Father and Pete learned how to put more power into a punch by focussing on the follow-through. How to properly keep balance during a kick. How to use somebody’s body weight against them to force them into a headlock. And how to stand appropriately so as not to be knocked down by one’s opponents.

The three came to rather enjoy their time with their German instructor and James secretly knew that if there were ever going to be another Josh, he’d be ready.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Dhampir
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

It all started with her mother, Martha, and the strange side effects Rosalyn had begun to feel more strongly than before. Martha is a Dhampir herself, with her father being a Dhampir and her mother being a full blooded vampire. Due to Rosalyn’s father, Luke, being fully human, she is only one quarter Dhampir, and isn’t aware of her family’s further history past her grandparents. Her mother doesn’t like to talk about her side of the family often, quite obviously because of the dark memories she is reminded of when doing so.

Life with Martha’s parents wasn’t an easy one, they were constantly hounded by random Dhampir’s on their choice to get together and have a child, mixing the pure lineage of the vampire with a “filthy” human. Yet Martha’s parents ignored all of the cruel remarks thrown their way, their love stronger than any string of words could ever hope to be, and together they were able to survive all hardships that came their way.

One day, when Martha was sixteen, her parents were murdered and someone had attempted to send her to her grave as well. However, she was able to get away thanks to her parents’ last ditch effort to distract their assailant. It worked and bought Martha enough time to flee, although to where she didn’t know. That’s when she ran into Luke and he helped her hide, though she didn’t have to be in hiding for long. Her parents’ killer was found shortly after their deaths, and was a pure blood vampire that wanted to cleanse the vampire name by taking out all those who weren’t pure.

For some reason or another, Martha didn’t hold any resentment or hatred for the man who took away her parents, instead she wept for him. He was incredibly misguided in her eyes, and it was sad to see someone so far gone that it broke her already shattered heart more.

Rosalyn’s parents decided to keep her speciality a secret from her for most of her life, not wanting word to spread about what she was for fear of her becoming a target as well. Thus she wasn’t told of what she really was until she was eight and began showing signs of both her parents’ heritage, such as her first magic instance and her fainting from not getting enough nutrients to sustain her abnormal self.

At first the news tore at her, weighing heavily on her heart. She didn’t know whether to consider it a blessing or a curse that she was anything but just human, and that she had to rely on blood to keep herself alive even if she was still mostly human made her feel sick. Despite having had it for so many years, she had been blissfully ignorant to the fact that it was blood because her parents disguised it far too well for her to notice any difference. What was even stranger was how she had missed the signs from everyone in her family, including little Theo. Since he had awakened his magic very early, the signs of the Dhampir side of him grew even stronger than before (or just even more prominent to Rosalyn’s new lens).

The aspects of her race that are evident on her are the pale, corpse-like and sensitive to sun-light skin and grey tinted eyes, however hers are more blue with just hints of grey in the mix. She is also missing her canines in a sense for if a regular person were to look at her, although the gap where they would be is quite small since she herself is petite enough.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Keen Eye:

Glen had always been a very curious boy – he wanted to see everything, because everything was fascinating. He was always on the lookout for interesting things – a strange marking in a wall, a possible hidden door, an odd tree in a forest... It didn't matter much to him, if it was at all something useful, he just cared if it was interesting to him. Over the years he found many things that way – like an old chipped roman coin one day when he was four. The family had been on one of their day trips into the countryside – they did that from time to time as Glen's father liked hiking – and Glen had thought he'd seen something twinkle in the water of the stream they were crossing. Twenty minutes and a completely sodden Glen and Coinneach (one could almost call Glen half-drowned, really) later, Glen proudly held said coin in his fist.

He also – as long as he didn't get distracted by something more fascinating – had had a tendency to win games of hide and seek in his childhood. If something was out of place be it broken branches, an overturned garbage tin or some slightly moved furniture, he'd always go to check it out and ended up finding his playmates – quite frankly he was sometimes almost disappointed that it wasn't anything or anyone more interesting.

He'd found some cheap (often broken but easily fixed) jewellery in Oban a couple of times and gave it to his sister – well, apart from the time he found a wedding ring. He'd given that one to his parents to see if they could find a way to return it to their owner. A wedding ring shouldn't be lost, he figured. Besides, it wasn't even that pretty – well, it was dull. Or boring rather, given that it was a gleaming but simple band of gold, so the colour couldn't really  be called dull...

He'd also found some nice river stones, and some good pieces of wood for whittling – he had a small box hidden in his room (alright, no, the box was in plain sight but hidden sounded far more interesting and mysterious so it was officially his 'hidden box of treasures') where he collected the the small things he'd found over the years, including one of his proudest finds: a set of cufflinks in the form of pigs (who even wore an outfit that needed cufflinks to the Highland Games?)

On vacation, he once found a trap door in the forest once that was hidden by rocks – it led to a tunnel leading to the monastery they'd just visited twenty minutes ago. They'd left there and driven a few kilometres away only to stop for lunch in the car by the roadside. Glen had originally wandered off to pee in the bushes, but well, a trap door was more interesting than a toilet break – although this time he'd had the presence of mind to call his parents over before trying to jump down the door.

Glen was always on the lookout for more interesting things to find – and coming to Hogwarts just opened up a slew of new even more fascinating things to find in his opinion so he was keeping his eyes peeled. Word Count:555
Fearless:
Reducio
As mentioned before, Glen had always been a very curious boy – he wanted to see everything, because everything was fascinating. Danger rarely figured into things. Oh, it wasn't that Glen was fearless per se, he was definitely stilll capable of fear – especially if he got caught in his head and went down an overthinking spiral (like the time at the lake during the Blossomfest) but his fear response was often faulty if he saw something interesting as he was to focused on what ever fascinating thing he'd found to think about fear or danger, really.

Like the time with the roman coin... It hadn't occurred to the four year old Glen that he could not swim yet, that the stream may be small but not that shallow and he was tiny... he saw something shiny and so he jumped in to look for it.

There was another time, when he was around eight (well, he was 7 years and 10 months, according to his iya but in his mind two months from his eigth birthday was close enough, so it counted as eight) when the family had gone on another of their trips and he'd seen a frog that looked injured and followed into the forest when it hopped away as he walked closer to see it better. When he meandered back to where he'd run off on his family half an hour later, his mother was in near hysterics – he could hear her yelling for him from ways away but at that moment he was only worried that the loud noise would scare his new friend – but his father was almost used to his wandering off by now. He had that frog as a pet for to years before it died of old age.

Fear of strangers... Why? He knew his parents had told him not to talk to strangers, but... they had the most fascinating and strange stories to tell – especially tourists – so why wouldn't he talk to them? (It was probably sheer dumb luck that none of the ones he talked with tried to lure him somewhere else as he probably would have indeed followed them if he thought it was interesting when he was younger – and to be quite honest, that was likely still the case. When he'd heard rumours that a hag had kidnapped a student during the Blossom fest, for a moment he had been disappointed that he didn't get that opportunity...)

Scared of snakes or spiders? Why, they were quite fascinating creatures, didn't you know? The  only exception where probably Buzzards (yes, with a Capital B) because those things were just plain old evil and should be feared if nothing else. But he hadn't encountered one of those in years, so who knew.

Darkness? Wasn't scary at all, it was simply annoying because it meant he couldn't see and so would potentially miss whatever there was to see. Though it was also fascinating how different many things looked in the dark. And how it affected your other senses if you couldn't see. It was even helpful occasionally, like the times he blindfolded himself because he wanted to whittle something and he needed to familiarize himself with how something felt as well as how it looked. It was a trick his mother had taught him.

Loud noises? Hey, there must be something going on over there, so let's check it out!

Falling? Wasn't great but falling because he tripped used to happen a lot so he was used to it and falling down from somewhere? Well, new place to explore right there.

Wide open spaces? A whole world to explore. Enclosed spaces? Good place for hidden things, so what is there to find? Or otherwise, a good place to curl up and read or whittle in peace from younger sisters...

The world was far to fascinating to bother with fears. (And Glen tended to be too distracted anyway.)Word Count:661 (-18 quoted from Keen Eyes)
Spell Spread:
Reducio
As Glen had the tendency to overthink things once he did get lost in his head it only stood to reason that it would carry over to his casting (or duelling in this case) ability. A duel one on one was bad enough – so many spells to use, so many possibilities – but a duel like the one with his fellow Slytherins... It was so much worse if he not only had to contemplate the spells but also which opponent to attack.

In a way it was like soccer or certain other ball games back in Muggle primary school. Occasionally (it wasn't that common, seriously!) he would be too undecided, too distracted by his thoughts of who to pass the ball to that he was just as likely to either miss both (all) the teammates he contemplated passing the ball too or he would end up throwing a curve ball because he subconciously attempted to pass the ball to both and therefore aimed in such a way that they were both in the path the ball was thrown (or kicked).

Such a thing didn't happen in the aforementioned duel but he had accidentally managed to set fire to two seperate paper targets when he was practising Incendio once before – quite frankly it had startled him quite severely at the time but he had been more annoyed by his inability to aim the spell correctly and that he did not even properly notice that the two targets hadn't been connected in any way and had actually been placed far enough apart that the flames of the one aflame could not jump over to set fire to the second one. He had eventually managed to improve his aim but he was still quite frustrated at the end of that practice session.

Of course, more often than not his absent-mindedness and distractions led to his spells either not working in the first place or – if he was really unlucky – backfiring on him instead of hitting the target. It also didn't help that he – again, occasionally – got a bit overzealous in his spell casting and pushed far more power into a spell than it actually needed to succeed. Which was definitely not a good thing in most cases as he had learned quickly. For some reason, Lumos a normally fairly easy spell did not cooperate with him for the longest time. He had no end of troubles trying to get that spell to work properly, from his wand not lighting up at all to the tip of his wand being slightly shiny and seemingly maybe reflecting the light in the room to one time completely overpowering it when he actually made it work so that he almost blinded himself – he couldn't see anything but starsfor almost an hour afterwards.Word Count: 473

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Lovely Creature
Describe why this fits your character:

Dhampirs are known to be ugly, deadlike looking creatures. But Nico has learned from her family for generations, how to use make up to look.. normal. Make-up is part of her everyday routine, she never went anywhere without it. It's like art, she mastered it so well. Since the little girl was born, mother helped out to make anything that made her look dead, was masked away with a tad of foundation.
As soon as Nico was old enough, the little Dhampir had to learn the secrets and tricks to maquillage from her caring mom. Angelique used to wear make-up even when she was an aquaria performer. She made sure no water would smudge her perfect hot look. And so, Nico learned how to daintly tap her skin and erase any wrinkles and inpure marks. Even though, without her make-up, she looks dead, close to a corpse, she'd still be a beautiful one. Her iceblue eyes and bright red hair let her pale skin stand out. Anywhere she goes, she's easily noticed as her precense feels different but the same goes for her looks. She's been blessed with the hot looks from mom, who's a human.

The redheads days at Primary School were quite intense as she got picked on regulary. Her ethereal looks made even the kids their parents feel uncomforably attracted or enchanted by her. She looked beautiful. The perfect little girl that could be the main star of a sugarry cereal brand or the adorable covergirl for children magazines. Her classmates couldn't stand it and tried to destroy her flawless aura. The poor girl had no clue that she had this effect and could only quietly sob when she tried her best to hide her bloody tears.

Her main look that she sticked with was a very natural palet with bright red eyeshadow details. Her skin would be spotless except her signature beautymark: a lil spot abover her lip, to the left of her nose. It gave her smile something magical and distracting. Her red hair was brushed perfectly and swayed with every step she took. Her eyebrows were drawn and cared for in a perfect symmetrical way.

The clothes she picked and wore, always accentuated her slender figure and rather long legs. She had the looks of a model. Nico was never a child who knew she was pretty, she just knew the right ways to perfectly hide her weary deadlike skin.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Seer
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): The gift of magic is bestowed only upon blessed individuals, those that will have the best chance to shape the world in whatever way they see fit. Within that secular group of people, exists an even smaller, yet potentially more powerful gene that requires magic to gush from the host - The gene that decides which wizard has the gift to become a Seer.

In the Langley family, this gene has skipped a few generations until Cyrus was born. Unbeknownst to him, his families have a rather extensive lineage of Seers, going so far back as to be boring Cyrus with the details, and consequently never bothering to learn the names of the old ones. For all he cared, the Seers were nothing more than false prophets smart enough to prey on those that were gullible enough to believe in their tricks. Not him, though, Cyrus would never fall for such common misconceptions. He was far too smart to fall for such simple trickery which deceived so many people, even his parents, who he looked up to.

Throughout his life though, there have been strange occurrences that in ordinary circumstances would not seem entirely possible without the assistance of magic. Scrunched balls of paper that mysteriously entered the bin in ONE shot! Heck, there was even one time when his alarm bells started screaming outside, causing him to the step to the side. Lo and behold, when he looked back to where he was initially standing, he saw freshly produced bird poop now exploded over the concrete pavement, but not his glorious mane of hair.

Though, this recessive gene of Seers is a prominent reason as to why the Langley family have been known to act elitist towards outside families that carry no trace of this trait. Within the pureblood kingdom, they are a more refined breed of wizards that are not only of great fortune and ambition, but capable of producing people capable of glancing into the future. Brief glimpses, mind you, but enough so to be able to affect their actions in order to result in desirable outcomes. In fact, from what he could remember from his parents rambling on the family tree, the Seers had been the primary ones in order to catapult their business and finances due to, perhaps, not entirely legal glimpses into the future which affected their decision making when it came to both goals and gambling. That was what intrigued the young boy the most about them, the ability to gain so much from something that was seemingly so unimpressive. Would he be able to carry their family business even further if he was to carry this gene?

While Cyrus is unaware that he is a host of this gene, he has been shown to display a curious amount of luck throughout his time of being old enough to walk. Moreso than merely landing goals in trash bins and avoiding bird poop. There have been situations in which Cyrus merely felt a tingle run down his spine, prompting him to completely avoid a course of action he had once been intent on, although this did take a rather obscene amount of trial and errors to correlate the spine chill to the immediate presence of danger. Over time, he gains more command over the special gene he has inherited from his family, and his mind constantly works itself into ways to develop both prestige and glory in the eyes of fellow wizards, who knows just how far he will utilise his Seer blood in order to gain more renown in the wizarding kingdom?

Lovely Creature

You are so incredibly beautiful, it is hard to take ones eyes off of you.

Prerequisite: None

Effect: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch.

If taken by a Veela, this is increased by +1.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): [Wc: 920 words, 5,062 characters]
So, frankly speaking, the race fits the character eerily well, the ability fits the race eerily well and I'm going to explain exactly why, how it works and what it does to him and his surroundings. First of all, Alex as has been depicted in his background story manifested his magic in form of subconscious charm, and when I say "charm" I don't mean the school of magic but rather personal charm, he was easily attracting, calming and even to a degree manipulating other kids because they wanted to draw his attention, be accepted by him or leave a good impression on him. While he was unaware that it was done magically, he was completely convinced that it was his own personal charm. That lead him a fairly easy life. Blessed with good from his mother's side, much like most Veela, or part Veela, Alex is naturally blond, as a kid he was just precious, people just couldn't leave him alone, it bothered him but he learned to live with it.

He would find himself accompanied through out the majority of his days growing up with a small gallery of friends, they would follow him around wherever he went, while at times it proved to be inconvenient, he grown to accept it and make some use of it. Thanks to his look and soft spoken voice, he managed to get away with... Pretty much anything, he didn't even have to lie about it, as long as he apologized it was immediately forgiven, well until it came to the attention of his mother. There was a trait he inherited from her that he didn't particularly like, it scared most of the people around him too, that being his temper. On some occasions, often when things didn't go his way, he would go into a fever-like state and throw all common sense out of the window, he'd start abusing anyone who would dare to cross him, some say that his expression would contort to a twisted ugly thing, making it so much more terrifying. While he would at least try to keep this trait of his hidden and gain control over it, at times it would break loose regardless, his closest friends knew how to stop it from happening, they understood what triggered it and tried to calm him down in advance, that sadly would only make things worst at first but eventually it got better, he managed to get a grip and pull himself back, even if its momentarily to somehow mend the situation.

Though, while he became angry, something about him would change beyond his expression, it was... A feeling of sorts, some might call it an aura, a welling power possibly (that'd be the equivalent to Veela's Temperamental quality when it comes to magic, with his anger his magic intensifies as well). As Alex grew up, his looks would improve as well, he didn't do anything special, he was distracting, people who glanced at him would find themselves staring at him for quite some time before snapping out of it. Alex was quite aware of that and accepted it as just one of those facts of life. Alex though had a slight difficulty in his everyday life, and that being mirrors. He loved how he looked, just like anyone else, and there lays the problem. He would end up staring at his own face through a mirror every time he had to wash his face, he doesn't even dare to look into his own eyes, the gem-like emerald eyes would entrance him.

Though, while some things came easy to him considering his good looks and his charming "personality", there were some hardships as well, it was something he wouldn't really notice through out his time growing up, possibly because everyone in his tiny neighborhood already knew him, while being at Hogwarts, he'd draw attention of all sorts of people, some of these children had a hard time restraining themselves, others were a bit more shy about it but still just as diligent. The people who would face him were easy, he could just wave them off with promises that he would keep in touch with them, the others however were a bit more difficult to deal with, mostly because they would keep themselves mostly hidden and never approach Alex directly. On various occasions he found out that some of his things have gone missing, he already has few things as it is considering he has pretty much no parental funding considering his mother likely has no clue where he is still. Its always small things, like a shoelace, loose hair, some paper, his quill and some of his books. He have yet to figure out where they go, but he is convinced that there is a thieving elf wondering around the Gryffindor dormitories and steal random things from the students. In reality, Alex has managed to attract some stalkers who would secretly follow him around. At least one of them had to be from the same house as him, otherwise they wouldn't be able to get his things that easily.

Alex is unaware of what he is, he thinks he is simply a half-blood human, he never learned about the fact that his own mother is actually a Veela, making him a Half-Veela. Though, were he to know, it'd surely explain why she would sometimes disappear for a month or so and come back home as if nothing happened, excusing it as a trip she just had to take.
