History/Background Story:

Before Hogwarts:
Emily was born on 8th September 2011 to a pure muggle family. She grew up in Belfast under the care of her maid while her parents spent long periods of time away from home due to their demanding work (her mother as a fashion designer, her father as a businessman). Her mother would be home once a week while her father would visit only twice a year. She thrived both at home and in primary school, surrounded by good friends and had learnt to be a down-to-earth person, as her parents' absence didn't mean the forced wealthy standards she would've been subjected to had it not been for her maid. However, due to the repercussions of her parents' work, she'd often switch between schools in Belfast and London. Despite it all thanks to her maid's guidance - whom she affectionately calls "Auntie" - she has become kind, compassionate and a keen reader, often borrowing books from libraries to satisfy her desire for knowledge.
She encountered her first instance of magic when she was 10, where at school she was picked on for how she dressed and for her family's wealth. A sudden outburst of frustration caused a nearby mirror to shatter to pieces without anyone getting hurt. She received her letter to Hogwarts not long afterwards. On the train ride to Hogwarts, she would study the textbooks she had to buy for compulsory study in order to better understand the Wizarding World, as she had little prior knowledge and wished to know more. She also managed to make a friend along the way there, bonding over their similarities between familial backgrounds and learning more about the Wizarding World through their experience. At the Sorting Ceremony of 2023/24, she was Sorted into the House of Hufflepuff and was thus a formally registered student at Hogwarts.

First Year
After being sorted into Hufflepuff, Emily quickly settled into her new life at Hogwarts. As an avid reader, she spent most of her time reading in the library, borrowing books for revision as her lack of knowledge of the Wizarding World made her feel like she was behind everyone else. However, she found she was quickly able to catch on with lessons quite quickly and her reading revision slowly evolved into one of pleasure. In the short time she had been at Hogwarts so far, she'd made a close friendship with the House of Ravenclaw (and the same companion she had met on the train) and met an acquaintance from the House of Gryffindor on her first day in the library. In her lessons so far, she'd received top grades for nearly most of the homework she had received marks for so far.
