Description

If it first succeeds, try, try again. Or something like that. Finley is once again organizing a “polar plunge” in the Great Lake, a freezing dip in the ice cold water in the dead of winter. Why? For the thrill, for camaraderie, or perhaps to start the fresh year with a clear mindset. And also help Finley with a little bit of cleaning.

Once students arrive at the lakeshore, they'll be given a small stone by Finley, who found hundreds of these stones piled up in the corridors after returning from holiday break (seems like some pranksters were certainly bored and busy during their winter holiday in the castle). The caretaker will then instruct them to write something on the stones that they are leaving behind as the new year begins. A bad relationship, a bad habit, or maybe even a fear they've let hold them back

A portion of the lake has been marked off for the event (with water shallow enough to ensure that even the weakest of swimmers will be just fine), while Finley stands by to guide, encourage, and supervise the adventurous plungers. Students will gather on the bank and, on Finley’s signal, will rush into the freezing water, dropping their stone and letting it sink and roll to the bottom of the lake. Once they emerge, they’ll be given a pair of fuzzy slippers to help warm them up, and an encouraging “well done” from Finley.
