Faye Flynn lived in the outskirts of Manchester her whole life, in a farm not far from a small village. After her birth, her mother left, nobody knew why, but many of the townsfolk believed it was because of Faye, for different colored eyes weren't considered natural, and many thought it might've been the reason why her mother left. Faye lived her life with her older sister Maia, who is about 9 years older than her, along with a baby boy of 2 years named Kieran, who was actually the son of Mr. Meletino, Faye’s godfather, and his wife, Davis' and Faye's mother's best friends. They would baby-sit Kieran while his parents were at work, and soon enough, he became like family. Her father, Davis Flynn, was an energetic man, who was strong even after the departure of his wife. He would work in the fields of their farm, playing with Faye at any chance he got, and taught her all that he knew. In doing so, Faye spent most of her childhood outside, climbing trees, feeding the animals, just being active almost all the time. She would leave right after breakfast and return at supper time, usually either completely drenched in water or covered mud. This, however, didn’t help the rumors about Faye in the village. People would talk about how “unlady-like” her behavior was, and they wouldn’t let their children get close to her, afraid they might act the same way. So when Faye and her family came to the village to sell their crops, rarely anyone would buy the food that was from a family with an abnormal kid, in fear that their kids might learn from Faye and act like her. Faye would even tried to change herself so that people would buy their crops, but it was in vain. However, thankfully, Mr. Meletino, would buy their food for his shop, and that money was just enough for Faye and her family to get by. But each day, Davis worked extremely hard for his family, and sadly got sick one day. He passed just weeks before Faye’s 7th birthday, and that was the hardest thing that Faye had ever experienced. She felt as though she would never be happy again, but with the help of Maia, Mr. Meletino, and Mrs. Meletino, who had promised to help the girls as long as they needed, she was able to move on just enough to go outside and live again, but still kept that sadness with her. At the end of each day, she would talk to her dad, just as though he was right in front of her, and told him about her day. The girls then started living with Mr. and Mrs. Meletino in their house on top of their bakery and began working in bakery, as compensation for their help, but only in the back with Mrs. Meletino, which was Faye’s suggestion, for if people knew she was working there, they wouldn’t want the food. So Faye and her sister worked there for some years until Maia went to college. Faye was homeschooled by Mrs. Meletino, and still lived happily, but that was also when the other kids started making fun of her eyes instead of ignoring her. Faye didn’t care much, for she was happy with her life, and honestly liked her eyes. She even dyed half her hair green to show that. And when Maia came back, they both started living in their old house and farm. Maia had gotten a job, and they still helped out at the bakery.

When Faye first got her letter, she and Maia thought it was a prank at first, but showed it to Mr. and Mrs. Meletino with concern about the detailed address. And that's when the two girls figured out that their disappearing mother was a witch.
The Meletino's and Faye's father had all knew from the beginning, but couldn't tell Faye and Maia for that was their mother's wish. As an Auror, Faye's mother's dream job was dangerous, and she knew that. She tried to keep her work and personal life separate, but after having Faye, there was a job that compromised that. Knowing there would be more jobs like that, she left to ensure the safety of her family.
Maia was confused on why she wasn't a witch and had never experienced magic. The Meletino's told her that her parents had found out she was a squib, and brought her into normal school. They reassured her that they were never disappointed in her, but actually impressed at how she was able to comprehend things so well in muggle school.
After hearing this, Faye understood, yet still felt betrayed. Her mother had still left their family. She hadn't been there during important moments, such as Faye's first walk or word. And knowing how much this meant to her, the people closest to her knew, but didn't tell her. All of this hurt Faye, maybe even more than before.

First Instance of Magic:

When she was 6 years old, when her dad was still alive, she was working on the farm, and it was her first time feeding the animals. Holding a huge bag of pig food, she tripped and spilled it all on the ground. It made a huge noise and her dad came running over, making her scared that her dad would not let her do it again. But when he reached, she turned to him and then back at the mess to see that it had disappeared.
