Willow was born on February 26, 2011, and grew up in Ballygrant, Scotland. She was born to two loving parents. Frey and Alexander. Her mother Frey is a muggle; however, Frey's younger sister is a witch. Now Alexander is a full-blooded wizard. He comes from a well-off family, however that life was never for Alexander. He instilled this lesson in his three children the importance of working hard and enjoying the simpler things in life. It does not take much to make Willow happy, she enjoys the little things in life.
Another thing she got from her father is her love for creatures. Her father is a magizoologist, however, he focuses more on the treatment side of the focus. Having said this there are countless different and mostly harmless creatures running around the Penk home. Willow grew up her entire life with these creatures running around and watching her parents nurse them back to health most of the time. When she isn't playing with the different creatures she can be seen exploring around their home or just playing outside. When she is not doing any of these above things then she is reading up in her room. This is much of what her life was like as a child. Her older brother, Evan, was going through his schooling years as Willow was growing up so she does not have a strong connection to her older brother compared to her younger brother Lewis. Lewis can be found most of the time following Willow around which can sometimes annoy her.
An interesting thing about the Penk lineage is that they have a metamorphmagus gene that runs through the family. It is usually inherited by the second eldest child and skips every two generations. Her father is the second eldest child and inherited this trait. When Willow was born the signs of her being a metamorphmagus were present. When this happened, her father was strict with her by teaching her that she should not use her abilities until she can figure out what her identity is. He says this because 'it is easy to lose oneself when pretending to be another.' As stated before, Alexander is the second born. He has one older brother who had passed away due to an accident as a child and a younger brother who had taken over the family business and lives an extravagant life with his wife and two children. The Penk family can be recognized by their hazel-colored eyes. Alexander has dark blond hair with hazel eyes. His face started to become wrinkled around his lips and forehead from many years of smiling. He is a rather outgoing man with lots of love for his children and the creatures under his care.
Willow's mother's name is Frey. Willow looks much like her mother. Frey has long brown hair, which she always has tied in a bun on her head to keep it from getting dirty. Frey also has beautifully painted freckles along her cheekbones and a crooked nose. Her eyes are a dark green almost brown color. She is the eldest of two siblings. Frey comes from a muggle family; however, Frey's younger sister was a muggle-born. Frey's sister was a big factor in how Frey and Alexander met after he had graduated from Hogwarts back in their time. Frey is a warm and loving person. She was born and raised in Ballygrant. She also enjoys a simple life, and she loves to grow plants. She enjoys watching her plants grow and being able to eat her hard work at the end of the growing season. Frey's love for plants was not inherited by Willow. Willow can grow plants if she is needed to, but she does not enjoy it at all.
Growing up Willow had a pretty carefree lifestyle from playing outside almost all day with her younger brother. She did have a few distant neighbors one of which was a magical family like hers, so she would occasionally play with him However, the neighbor's child was mean some of the time so she would avoid the little boy occasionally. Her mother told her that he was just like that because he had a crush on her, but she simply thought her mother was wrong. The boy was a year older than her but after he left for Hogwarts, they were unable to play with each other since then.
When it comes to Willow's education before Hogwarts she was taught at home mainly by her stay-at-home mother. Her mother was a teacher for the village before meeting Alexander. When Frey had given birth to her three children, she decided that she wanted to stay at home and raise them. She started teaching them from a young age things like reading, writing, maths, and other basic schooling subjects.
Willow has many likes and dislikes as any normal person would. Willow enjoys playing with the different magical creatures that she watched her parents nurse back to health. She enjoys reading when she does not feel like going outside to play or when Lewis was bothering her. Willow is mostly a happy and easy-going child who does not fuss too much about anything. She is hardworking and will jump up and help her mother whenever she calls without whining or complaining. Willow has a very caring side to her for people she feels emotionally attached to and will become quite the loyal friend. When it comes to things Willow does not like she is rather unfond of gardening or caring for plants. Another thing is unfond are people who go out of their way to be mean to others.
The first instance of magic appeared when she was first born. A few hours after she was born Willow's bald head suddenly grew bright blue hair before it disappeared, confirming she had inherited the Penk family metamorphmagus gene. Both her parents where proud of their baby Willow at this time. Outside of the accidental and small instances where she would change her appearance her second appearance of magic occurred when she fell from a tree when she was a child. All the way down the tree she seemed to bounce off of the branches landing safely on the ground. Her mother witnessed this with a terrified face from the first-floor window as she was just picking Lewis up from his evening nap. When she had witnessed this, she panicked greatly almost dropping Lewis in her rush to get to Willow, who was laughing on the ground.
