Sunny grew up in the suburbs of a small town in Scotland with his two parents and sister, Jennifer, a prodigy at piano. His sister, along with the few friends he had, were everything to him, and they pushed him to be more outgoing. However, there was a fire, and it took their house along with Jennifer.
Later on, his family moved from Scotland to Cardiff, Wales, by the sea in an attempt to move on. He became more quiet than usual after being removed from his friends and the loss of his sister, and spent most of his time staring out at the sea with glassy eyes.

When he was about six years old and practicing the violin, Sunny almost dropped it, but in his haste managed to stop it's fall with a bit of magic. He told his sister and parents, and they were overjoyed.
