Akemi is a very bubbly and social person, so she's very quick to make friends. Her optimistic and kawaii attitude is what made, and makes her pretty popular, like her older sister. During bad times, she always tries to lighten the mood. She's a very loyal friend, though this can have impacts on her as she can sometimes tend to worry more about her friends rather than herself. Some things that annoy her though are people that are extremely pushy and insensitive. At first, she'll try to keep calm and be nice to those people, but when it becomes too much for her, she ignores them and gets irritated very easily.

The Yamamoto's were well known around Osaka. They were a powerful pureblood family that had been around for centuries. Because of this reputation, Suzuki and Yua Yamamoto made sure that their three sons, Asahi, Haruto, and Hinata were the best out of the best in their classes at Mahoutokoro.
Out of all of his brothers, Hinata was the one that seemed to have the most potential. He aced all of his classes and seemed to be a teachers' favorite, so his parents decided to push him to become an Auror.
Not wanting to disappoint, Hinata graduated and set off on his new career and moved to London. As he was there he met a very beautiful lady named Anne, and they fell in love.
As soon as Hinata's parents heard about this, they were enraged that their perfect son was dating a muggle. It would ruin the reputation that they had been able to hold for centuries. They blackmailed their son and swore to eliminate Anne if they stayed together any longer.
Hinata ignored his parents' threat and married Anne, later having their first kid, Kira Yamamoto. The married pair then moved to Manchester, England, and disconnected completely from Hinata's parents.
Because of the disconnection, it wasn't until 6 years later that they found out about the marriage and child. Full of rage, Hinata's father traveled to Manchester to kill Kira, not knowing that Anne and Hinata now had another daughter. . . Akemi.
Late at night, Hinata's father snuck into infant Akemi's room and attempted to eliminate her with a knife, thinking that he could hide his tracks by not using magic when Anne walked in. The two stared at each other in shock before Akemi's grandfather left through the window.
The couple obviously moved after that and never told the incident to their daughters, causing Akemi to become suspicious of what really happened in her family.
Before Akemi came to Hogwarts, she would spend her time playing volleyball, hanging out with her elder sister Kira (when she was back home from school), and riding her bike around town. Most of her friends were from her volleyball team and neighborhood. Being the extroverted person she was, she was commonly known to welcome new neighbors with freshly baked cookies and would show them around the community.
Since her elder sister was almost never home, Akemi would spend most of her time going to school, journeying on business trips with her parents, or when she was older, just staying at home alone.
This, of course, made Akemi bored most of the time, which lead her to start writing letters almost daily to Kira and read more about magic and spells.

𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎

Akemi's first instance of magic was when she was six years old. She was running around in the house and accidentally ran into a very expensive vase, causing it to fall down and shatter into pieces.
As she panicked about getting in trouble with her parents, the vase pieces suddenly floated up from the floor and started forming together like a puzzle. Within seconds, the vase was completely fixed and resting as it was before on the tabletop.
