The celebration of the Yuletide has come around to the hallowed halls of Hogwarts once more. This time there would be no deadly ball, no impending darkness lurking around the hallways. No, no. This time a couple of Prefects and Professors had teamed up to happily deck the halls. On the 18th of December there would be Snowflake Crafting. On the 19th of December there would be evening Cookie Decorating in the Great Hall. On the 20th of December there would be bauble making (those baubles would be seen the next day in their Common Room after drying). Both culminating on the 21st where a designated staff member would light the Yule Log.

The Yule Log is an ancient tradition, with several different ways of carrying it out depending on where you're from. For Hogwarts, we'll be lighting a single log (that will be supervised, I see you pyromaniacs) to celebrate the coming of longer days of sun.

We hope this will be a wonderful day of students coming together and celebrating, no matter what religion they observe (if any). After a long beginning of the year this is a way for everyone to forget their worries and celebrate even when we're in the darkest part of the year.
