November's Contest is OPEN

The description contest continues! Winners will earn 3 House Points, 1 Galleon and bragging rights - as well as being credited for their work.

We welcome our newest Professor of Potions Brian Barlow (account still to be made). Brian comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We are fortunate and excited to be working with him as we develop our Potions System as well as expand the Potions curriculum over the next few months. Professor Barlow has a lot of work ahead of him, when you see his account created please give him a warm shout out in greeting.

We welcome two new staff members to the team:

Eliseo Céspedes, better known as Ethen Emerys from House Hufflepuff has become our newest Grounds Keeper. He has a unique style that will certainly shake things up a bit in this community. we are happy to have him and excited to see what will come.

Kelsey Brumby, better known as Flash Holmwood from House Slytherin has become our newest School Nurse. A job not for the faint-hearted. His hard work in the October dance as well as his relationships with his peers and active roleplay will certainly prove to be assets to the community.

Please congratulate them both on their new hell roles.

Holidays

The month of December is a month of holidays. Depending on your family tradition, work expectations, region, religious association and culture, availability of players and staff will be limited as we prioritize our families. Please be aware that homeworks will not be graded on New Years Eve, so last minute submissions will not be graded. The Professors will not be able to grade on the 31st as they celebrate the New Year. Do not submit last minute assignments to push a close race to victory, the Professors are going to be spending that time with their family. A conceited effort will be made to grade assignments in a timely manner but there is also no promises that your assignment will be graded the last 2 weeks of December due to the concentration of holidays. If you are looking to win for your house please do your homework early.

For all you aspiring healers out there, a new article has been written that will get you up to speed on all things medical you would want to know about. So, if you're looking to RP someone invested in healing magic, this is your stuff to read. You can find it here.

Voting for Top RP sites is presently broken. After a recent update, the reminder to vote has not been sent to users. Zach was made aware of this. Unfortunately that has not been fixed yet. Usually points are disseminated on this day, records show no points which is unfortunate. I have sent another owl to Zach regarding this matter. Hopefully it will be resolved shortly.

Reminder Regarding Content, Word Counts and Godmodding

Please read the site rules. This includes our content rules [no canon relationships, no godmodding canon characters, no racial/creed/gender slurs as] as well as things such as word count [200 words of your own work, so without quotes from other characters or lyrics from songs, that are in-character so that would mean OC comments do not count] and Godmodding. Repeated offenses not only wastes the staff time but it prevents the staff from developing material for the rest of the community and will result in your temporary ban if it is persistent.

A new year is upon us, so the old one will hopefully be forgotten soon. As it's tradition, we will clear the Index of inactive users on Friday. Everyone who has not logged in during the past 6 month will be taken out of the Index. This will not mean they will forever be gone from the Index. People who wish to be active again simply have to post in the registration thread anew, their trunk will be Re-activated and they will be added to the Index once more. Students who are currently active will not be affected by this during the Clearing on Friday
