Description: Ever interested in guiding the physical development and practical problem-solving skills of Hogwarts students, Rosalind has devised yet another variation of obstacle course for the students to solve. Using a carefully curated selection of weather-modifying charms, Professor Kibitzer has transformed the castle courtyard into a scene straight out of the Siberian tundra. Cold winds threaten to knock over some strategically placed saplings, mounds of snow offering no shelter from the cold wind - but they could be a useful building material. Professor Kibitzer will be observing the students to ensure nobody freezes to death, sheltered within a small area of sunlight that seems to be completely blizzard-free.

The task of the students? Get a fire going! Surely the students could manage it the one time that it's asked of them, right? The fire needs to last at least ten seconds to qualify before being blown out by the harsh winds, so locating some shelter in the hills of snow is advised. Bring your hats and mitts.

To participate, get up to 3 friends, enemies or strangers to join you in snowy cooperation. Make sure someone brings marshmallows. You can also complete this errand on your own if you would like.

You will create a thread on the Courtyard where you and your teammates will tackle the icy cold.

You can use any spells you know to assist yourself. If you don't know incendio, tear some sticks off the trees and try your best, or get creative in some other way. Participation is enough to earn the prize, so even those who fail to start a fire with sticks will be rewarded for enduring the magically-made blizzard.

Feel free to godmod as Professor Kibitzer to redirect wind and snow toward yourselves or otherwise make this challenge more of a pain than it needs to be. Hot cocoa is available from her for students who are successful.

The deadline for 600 words is the 31st of January, but you can continue roleplaying in the thread after if you want to enjoy some time around the fire. Or in the cold.
