Description

Having been a particularly snowy couple of days since the student body's return from winter break, Sylvain thought back to his Christmas here at the castle, cooped up and itching to get outside and have some fun. At the least, it was an opportunity to plan, he had thought of just the thing to help uplift any lingering and downtrodden spirits. Well at least his own if not anyone else's. Originally, he was inspired by his promise to build a snowman with Cecily but as he gathered supplies from the room of requirement his own desire to see musical snow golems, just like in the movies, propelled him further and further.

Sylvain spent at least one afternoon helping the elves in their joint efforts to clear the courtyard of twigs the day before a big snowfall. Additionally, the young wizard had pinned up enough crudely hand drawn posters to invite every single one of the other students from Hogwarts to build an army of dancing singing snowmen over the upcoming wintry weekend. His curiosities piled up as he prepared himself for the big day, but what was to be expected?

Fire. He expected there to be at least one fire.

If the other students helped him spread joy by spending the afternoon building snowmen, and the house elves managed to bring their host of fantastically unique creations to life for even a single evening, then Sylvain would promise to do his best. To understand the fleeting magic of snowman friendship was now his most important mission! Inexperienced in supervising school errands, Sylvain spent a few days asking around until he found a willing assistant who was certain of themselves. Griseldis Edelhardt, whom he thought was practically a lexicon in terms of knowledge, was someone Sylvain thought could use a fun distraction from her responsibilities and he hoped she wouldn't mind his choice of entertainment.

Instructions:

-Write at least 600 words detailing the creation of your own, unique snowman.

-After your snowman is completed you may have the house elves bring it to life and dance/sing a carol with you.

-Additionally if you provide a hand-drawn sketch of your snowman, a sketch that you drew by yourself, I will make sure the professors give you a house point for trying your hand at something new and different!

Rewards: 4x Chocolate Frogs, 2x Sickles, and an optional sketch for 1 additional House Point.

Please note: The additional house point for your sketch will be capped at one - so not each sketch but rather, limited to 1 house point in total.

IC Date: 9th of January- Feel free to start writing before then, just note that this is the day the event takes place.
