Holidays in Hogsmeade

'Tis the season! Join Phaedra for HiO's first official Hogsmeade trip. This time of the year is all about spreading joy and holiday spirit, and what better way to give back to Hogwarts' closest neighbour than community service? Don't fret; there is no hard labour involved. Activities include caroling, tree decorating, contributing to an art mural, and more. Participants will be compensated with good feelings inside (and ten sickles for spending later). This event IC takes place Saturday, December 5^th at noon, so wear your warmest clothing!

Errand Details

Prerequisite: Must be Year 3 or higher or own a Fake Permission Form to access the Hogsmeade forum + Must be registered on the Official Index (to clarify: 2nd or 1st years have IC permission to be there. The form is merely for ooc access.)
Date active: December 1 - December 30, 23:59 CT
Sign-up deadline: December 2, 23:59 CT
Group type: Optional small group threads and one mass group thread (explained more below)
Word count: 1,000 words per person
Reward: 10 sickles

Activities

There are two types of activities a volunteer can do during this errand: standard and group. Group activities include 2 to 4 people and are first come first served as the spots are limited. Standard activities do not require the participant to claim a spot.

Those doing standard tasks will remain in the mass thread (posted in Main Square) to do their errand. Groups have the option to make their thread at their assigned Hogsmeade location or their location of choice (High Street and Alleys only - no Shrieking Shack) to keep the mass thread as neat as possible. For groups, not all 1,000 words per person must be made at this location and they can make an entry post in the Main Square mass thread if they wish, but at least one post must be made at the separate location for the group member to claim the reward (200 word minimum applies). Groups are expected to create and manage their own threads with their partners.

Standard activities: To reiterate, you must stay in the mass thread. You do not have to stick with only one of these activities during the errand. An unlimited amount of people may join these as long as you reach the errand prerequisites and sign-up before the deadline.

— Clear snow near the pathways.
— Decorate small trees in the Main Square.
— Build a snowman.
— Make your mark on the community mural.
— Have a snowball fight with peers.
— Buy a hot beverage from a stall for yourself or a friend.
— Leave those hats, gloves, and coats that no longer fit in a donation box.
— Or anything else Christmas related you can think of that leaves a positive impact on Hogsmeade (and doesn't require you to leave the Main Square area).

Group activities: You must post at least once in your separate group thread, but you can make an entry post or join standard activities in the mass thread later if you wish. There are limited spots and you must reach the errand prerequisites and sign-up before the deadline.
