Melissa walked onto the courtyard with her kitten, Kato, in her arms. The last time she came out to the grounds, the grey furball ran away with another cat. She defiantly didn't want it happening again so she held her cat tightly, in case if she leapt out and ran away. Mel walked over to where she usually sat in the courtyard and sat down. She reached into her purple bag and pulled out a couple of books.

The ginger always had a few in her bag because of her love for books. You would know if you were close to her because she would always be reading in her spare time. She then put out her books in front of her cat. "Alright Kato, which book should I read?" she asked, not being too loud so others wouldn't hear her. Melissa was always very self-conscious about herself. She didn't want people to think that she always talks to herself when she's actually talking to her cat. Kato quickly pawed at the book on the right. Well this book it is, Mel thought as she opened the book and began reading. Honestly, she must have been too caught up with her book that she didn't notice the person coming towards her. Kato hissed multiple times before looking up to see the person.

Nessa glanced between the halls, her legs pumping quickly as her instincts took over just before she slammed into a girl who was walking through the Courtyard with her nose in a book. The cat that was next to her had hissed several times at it's human before they eventually collided. The monstrous phase that she'd accidentally induced wore off after a second of her bearing her teeth at the girl, a low growl rumbling up from her throat. After all, it was the day before the full moon.

"Oh my gods are you okay?!" She panicked, helping the girl gather her books before hiding her hands in her robes pockets. Her eyes were wide, wild and her brain was screaming at her to run. This wasn't a situation that she'd intended to happen, not something that she was prepared to deal with. "I-I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to knock you down, it's my bad." She stammered her way through the sentences, words failing her as she held out a hand to help the girl up from the rocky ground. She couldn't look the girl in the eye, although typically she would've stared at a person straight in the eyes, but in this situation she wasn't comfortable and didn't want to embarrass herself or let the Ravenclaw in on her secret.

Melissa didn't even have the chance to see the other girl when she got knocked over. All of her books flew out of her bag and landed on the ground with a soft thump. She quickly searched for her cat, Kato. She was just a kitten so she could've been hurt. Mel calmed down when she finally saw her little furball walking over to her. Then, she focused on the other person. The person who knocked her over. The girl quickly apologized and picked up the books from the floor. "Yeah...I'm okay," the ginger said. Then, she added, "Honestly, it's fine. I've run into multiple people already this school year!"

Melissa got up and bent down to pick up her cat. Kato was always trying to get her attention whenever she was focusing on someone or something else so she(Kato) was pawing at Mel's legs. After stroking the cat's fur for a while, she suddenly said, "I just realized I haven't introduced myself! My name's Melissa. Mel for short and this little furball," she said as she tickled Kato, "Is my cat, Kato." Melissa wasn't the type of person who is always very outgoing and all but being at Hogwarts seemed to change her a bit.
