The first game had gone...poorly. One of his beaters was a no show and for as far as Kyle could tell was no longer even at the school, His co-captain set aside her broom and left the pitch moments before the game started, and almost immediately after the game started he took a bludger to the head and was knocked out from the game leaving his team down three team members and both leadership figures right out of the gate. He had to give them credit, they did not give up and fought as hard as they could until the bitter end but when you have that kind of massive handicap there is only so much that you can do. While Kyle still blamed himself for this loss, he was not the self defeating type. If anything he had a fire in his belly now, an urge to prove to everyone that the Gryffindor team was a force to be reckoned with. Like the mighty phoenix they would rise from the ashes of their defeat stronger than ever. This was something he was going to see to personally.
Shortly after the first game ended three more members stepped down for reasons they would remain their own, and Kyle went through the list of people interested who couldn't join before and within a short matter of time had his team back up to fighting strength once more, though now more than ever it was clear more practice was needed. Just like before He sent out an Owl to everyone on the team letting them know about the meeting and for the new members he once again used the schools house elves to get their measurements and had uniforms made that would fit them perfectly before he finally went to the training pitch himself.
Kyle stood in his Crimson and Gold uniform, adorned in his beater armor missing only his helmet, with his beater bat strapped to his belt. At his side was a tinderblast, and behind him was a line of school brooms for anyone who did not own their own broom or chose not to bring it to practice. As Kyle stood there waiting for his team to arrive with his arms crossed and a look of determination stuck on his face he couldn't help but replay the moment he was removed from the last game over and over in his mind. It wasn't just his team that needed to be better, it was him as well. And he swore that he was going to do so, he would never let his team down like that ever again. Not if he had anything to say about it.

Climbing from the ashes
"Dear Grandpa!
I have news you're going to jump when you hear, no, you'll jump and fall off your chair! I am going to play Quidditch now!!!! On my favorite house's favorite team!!!! It's second string so I am going to be like a hero that flies in and saves the day when everyone else is down!!!! And I get to both watch the game and play!!!! Isn't that FANTASTIC?! And now I don't just have books and homeworks and lessons and friends, I also have practice and there will be more friends there!!!! There is going to be practice today already!!!! I am SO EXCI~late, oh no must run will fin. latr ...
She was running down the stairs -onetwothreefourleftturnfivesixsevenochonuevediezelfzwölf- counting steps in every language her mom ever taught her. There was barely enough time for language practice in her life so she just tried to think in all languages at once every single second.
-zwanzigveintiunotwentytwoOUCH- she fell right at the bottom of the stairs, but instantly got up and limped happily to the Quidditch pitch although her knee hurt a little after the fall.
-ochentayunozweiundachtzigeightythreeeeee-
"Hello am I late, I wasn't going to be late on purpose I just didn't watch the clock because I was writing a letter and lost track of time and then I fell down and hurt my knee because I was running but it doesn't hurt anymore so I don't think it's broken and I didn't mean to be late oh I also forgot to say sorry!"
Only then she took a frantic breath and realized that there was no one but herself and the captain. She wasn't late after all, her watch was just wrong.
"Wow I am not late this is so great so my watch was wrong after all and by the way, I'm Nicky are you the captain thanks so much for your owl, your owl is so cute by the way!"
And as always she stared at the person in front of her with an expression of utter excitement and enthusiasm.

Rafa wouldn’t lie. Kyle’s owl had given him a right shock.
He had nearly fell off his chair in the Great Hall when his letter had come, in fact. It had seemed a bit out of place – he had no reason to get an owl from the Quidditch Captain.
Upon reading it, he had felt as if he had finally caught his lucky break. He had heard quite a bit about the shortcomings of the Gryffindor Team – he had been quite disappointed. It had surprised him, upon hearing so many people had stepped down from the team. But perhaps it was for the best, letting other people get a chance and all.
Rafa had been interested in Quidditch for quite a while. He had had a little experience on the broom – mostly after he had arrived at Hogwarts. But that wasn’t to say he didn’t have a knack for sports. In fact, he had probably played every muggle sport known to mankind at one point or another. He was particularly good with a football, though. He had gained quite good reflexes during his endeavors, in which he was very proud. He wanted to help restore the Gryffindor House’s Quidditch reputation, and was willing to put his best foot forward to defend them. He wasted no time in sending back a reply, and soon found out that he had been promoted to First-String Chaser.
Which is what found him at the Quidditch Pitch. He had just gotten changed into his new uniform – he figured he’d need it – and had nabbed a school broom from the broom closet. (He was saving up for a nicer one, but for now, he would do what he could with what he had. ) After making sure all his affairs were in order, he promptly hurried to the pitch. He had put on a headband to push his bangs back – he figured if they were half as annoying as they were during a football game, they surely needed to be dealt with.
Upon entering the pitch, he caught sight of the Team Captain himself, along with an Old Acquaintance. Gem had told him of Kyle DeRook – he had quite the reputation for being a strong, brash fellow. He was beater, if Rafa remembered correctly – and a fine player, from what he had heard. Whatever the case, he had a healthy respect for the older Gryffindor. The other was Nicki – they ran into each other in the common room once. Literally ran into each other. It had been a rather humorous event, but they hadn’t really talked since. “Hey, man,” Rafa said, nodding at Kyle. “Nicki.” He offered her a friendly grin. Looking back at Kyle again, he asked, “Quidditch Practice, right?” He had heard Nicki mention something about being late – that wasn’t a very good start. “Not too late, right?” he said, rubbing his neck, a simple sort of look on his face. “Got a little caught up. Won’t happen again.”

Millie was really mad about losing her first match. It probably would've gone better if Marla hadn't had to leave quick, and Millie was forced to substitute for her. That being said, she definitely felt that, for the fact that she had to act quickly, she had done pretty well. The match went terrible, but they had tried their damn hardest.
When she received an owl notifying her of a meeting on the Training Pitch, Millie was really excited. She would be able to meet the new teammates, and do some training before the next match.
She pulled her hair up in a bun, and let one of her friends magic it into place. Then, she changed into her red and gold uniform, and grabbed her Shooting Star. It wasn't as great as a Firebolt or something, but it was a good broom, and one she claimed as her own.
The walk from the Gryffindor Tower to the Training Pitch was a very long one, in fact, she had no clue how she was not the last person. If it had gotten too late, she would've just hopped on her broom and flew the rest of the way to the Pitch. She couldn't risk being late to a meeting.
As she spotted her captain and a few teammates, she instantly breathed out and jogged up to them. "Hey Cap, what're we doing today?" She smiled brightly, conveniently forgetting to tell him about Illowy.

Arlis had been having a good day but it got even better when kyle sent an owl out saying they would have a practice. After losing the last game, she wanted to prove herself. Prove that she was good enough, prove that they could win. she rushed to change into her uniform and hurriedly ran out of the dorm, out of the common room, and through the halls. Why walk when she could run? The anticipation of the coming practice was enough to make her excited, and she hopped down the steps and burst outside.
Not too many people were there when she arrived and they seemed to be waiting for the others. A big smile remained on her face and her cheeks were pink from running basically the entire way. She bounced from foot to foot eager to start. she picked up one of the school brooms near Kyle and walked back round, offering him a grin. "I can't wait ter see what yeh've planned fer today!" she exclaimed with bright eyes. She brushed some hair out of her face and paused for a moment to glance around at the others and then focused back on Kyle again, waiting for his instructions.

Piérre had woken up bright and early to go out to the Quidditch Pitch. He had gotten an owl from Kyle about being accepted on the team as the second string Keeper, and was eager to head out and start practicing for a game which would be sure to come up soon. He was a little saddened to have had to give up an opportunity for Seeker, which was what he had originally wanted to be, but in Piérre’s mind, it was better to be a part of the team as opposed to sitting around like a lump.
Besides, many of the qualities a Keeper had were shared with a Seeker. They had to be nimble, quick on their feet, and able to block and dodge effortlessly, something that the little Piérre happened to be able to do with ease.
Well, he would have been at the Pitch early in the morning... had he not fallen asleep as soon as he had woken up. It wasn’t his fault. It had been dark and the sheets had been warm and he had been tired and stressed and... well, you know what? He really didn’t have an excuse.
When he had finally woken up again, a ray of sunlight had hit him smack in the face, clouting his senses and reminding him that he had someplace to be, and that he was quite late. Piérre then proceeded to fall out of bed, pull on a red Quidditch practice outfit (he didn’t really want to masquerade as another house when he was reporting to his own Quidditch practice), sprinted though the Great Hall to snatch a breadroll and a few strips of bacon, and then dashed out to the Pitch, shoving bacon in his face and sticking the biscuit in his pocket along with a single red apple.
When he came up on the group, he found that five of the members, which included his own captain were already there, interacting with one another. Well, at least he had been kind of early... kind of.
”Hey Capt’n!” Piérre panted after swallowing the bacon and getting to the rest of the group. He was a little winded from his run, and so he put his hands on his head, willing himself to breath deeply and reduce the tiredness he felt in his limbs. ”I woke up ten minutes ago, but I woke up three hours before that and then fell asleep again, and I’m so sorry for being late, I didn’t have an excuse and I’m so sorry.” all of this was said in a continuous breath almost like a full sentence and when he had finished talking, Piérre crumpled forward, putting his hands on his knees and breathing heavily. ”Just... gimme... a second... whew...”
After catching his breath, he looked up at the team again, smiling cheerfully and ruffling his hair, which was in a state of chaos. His eyes sparkled gaily, even through there were evident black marks under his eyes and he pulled out the apple, biting into it and enjoying the sweet sugars, which would then wake him up in about 3.5 seconds. Saluting, Piérre clicked his heels. ”Piérre Marchonné, second string Keeper, here and reporting for duty! Hiya team!”
