a walk at sunset
@Dymphna Teague
She walked with no final destination. The only thought on her mind was... well, nothing, to be frank. For once, Rhea's mind was absolutely blank, and for that she was grateful. This moment was a miracle, a chance for her to simply enjoy the splendor that Hogwarts presented. It had been a while since she'd gotten the opportunity to truly appreciate the grandeur of the castle, and this was her chance. Her pace was slowly, given that she had nowhere in particular to go. Every now and then, she'd pause and turn around, just to look at the castle. The farther she walked away, the smaller the castle got - which made sense, given the basic laws of physics (or whatever type of science it was, Rhea wasn't well-versed in the sciences).
Eventually, Rhea found herself approaching the Quidditch Training Pitch. It made sense that was where her legs would take her. The last time she'd been here was... a long, long time ago. Maybe partway through her first year. The place brought back nostalgic feelings. Though usually she associated nostalgia with negativity, this time it was different. Rhea closed her eyes for a second, pretended she was in a drama movie, and imagined herself flying up and around the field. The wind, whistling past her, whipping her hair into her face. She sighed in contentment, opening up her eyes. The movie feeling had passed, but that same feeling of happiness remained.
As she looked up, Rhea realized with a start that the sun was setting. Had time really passed that quick? It seemed just moments ago the sun was halfway across the sky, and it was barely 13 hours. Yet now, the sky was exploding into a mix of colours. A beautiful sight it was, though, so Rhea couldn't complain. She sat down, smack in the middle of the field, and just enjoyed being outside.
Someone looking at her would have thought her strange, and Rhea would have understand why. How peculiar would it be, to come to the pitch to practice Quidditch, only to see a small blonde girl sitting right in the middle? (Sure, Rhea had had her growth spurt over the summer, but she had only grown to around 152 cm). Rhea would have run the other direction herself. But at this moment in time, in this present situation, Rhea couldn't care less what others thought of her. The pitch brought back nothing but positive memories, and she intended to stretch that feeling out for as long as possible.
In a spur of the moment, Rhea lied down onto the grass and simply looked at the sky. Wide eyed, she tried to make out any shapes in the clouds - just like she had that one day with Rosie. Completely wrapped up in her own thoughts, Rhea felt like she was on a whole different universe - in a small bubble that refused to be popped, that kept her safe. Given her current headspace, it was unlikely she'd notice anyone approaching her.
the trouble is, if you don't risk anything -- you risk more.
