The dark corridors seemed to stretch for miles, and Carra found herself struggling to remember exactly where she was in the vast castle. With time to spare after classes, she had decided to explore the castle more, but those changing staircases had thrown her off and she wasn't sure if she was on the second or third floor anymore.

Shrugging, she moved on, maybe she'd find something interesting. The castle was wrought with rumors of secret passageways and doors that were there one day and gone the next. So Carra walked on without worry. Until she passed the self-same suit of armor for the third time. It had to be the same, it was missing the pinky on its right gauntlet, just like the last two times she had walked by.

"Seriously?" She asked the suit as if expecting it to answer, "I dinnae what game ya think you're playin', but if you're purposefully tryna get me lost, it's not gonna work." Hands-on hips she stuck her tongue out, "I always find my way out o' places, I ne'er get lost."

Famous last words. Carra walzed down the corridor once more and found herself face to face with the suit again. This time a faint flush rose to her cheeks. Circles, she was somehow going in circles, and was, indeed, lost.

She huffed at the suit of armor, daring it to laugh at her although there was no way it could, it was just a suit of armor after all, and spun on her heel beating a hasty retreat back the way she had come. Perhaps if she retraced her steps she'd stumble upon a familiar door or staircase, although she wasn't very trusting of staircases at the moment.
@Julie Shaw, it's not as long or as well written as I'd like it to be, sorry! My brain is shot all of a sudden. >.<

Tip tack, click clack, on an' on the nails will go.
The fact that the staircases were sentient and could choose to change whenever the bloody hell they well chose, was simultaneously one of the most exciting adventures the young Shaw had ever been on, and the most confusing. Every so often after class she'd stand amongst the moving stairs for an hour or so, trying to plan their movements to times of day or sort out what they wanted. Each time she came they changed their minds, as though she was a spy and they were dead-keen on making sure she never figured out their master plan. Perhaps thats exactly what it was. Today found Julie on one such mission, riding back and forth on the first floor staircase with a delighted smile on her face, her hand holding the railing with a gentle touch just in case it really did have feelings. It didn't seem too out of the brand new ordinary that it would have feelings. She wanted to know more about the castle, and after a fairly thorough exploration of the exterior and the wonderful meanderings of the Grounds, she deeply wanted to get to know the insides of her new home beyond the Hufflepuff common room.

The staircase finally ceased at a landing she had never been on, and stayed there for over the usual 10 minutes, as if telling her to get off already. She chuckled, gave the banister a grateful pat, and climbed through the door and into the corridor beyond. It was dimly lit and lined as always by a battalion of her favorite decoration, suits of armor. She wandered towards the nearest one, regarding its handsomely made armor which only had a few dings and scrapes from what she assumed was the activities they got up to whenever you weren't looking. She loved these things, having once caught one humming to himself when she'd walked backwards into a corridor the first day she'd arrived at Hogwarts, she always made it a purpose to wave pleasantly to them and offer a wide smile. It had to get boring staring at walls all day, but someone had to hold them up!

She rounded a corner, not really looking where she was going as she remarked a particularly unique statue with a missing finger on his gauntlet, and she gasped as another girl came winding towards her. She scrabbled backwards, catching the edge of a door frame to halt her progress and prevent them from bowling head first into one another, an expression of panic on her face before it was dissolved by her usual jovial grin. "Och! Heya, dinnae think I'd see another in here. My name's Julie!" Her scottish accent was sing-song in tone, much brighter and smoother than one you'd find in Glasgow or Aberdine, she righted herself and stepped back a few feet to regard the girl, intent on polite conversation. Perhaps the staircase had wanted this girl to have some company?

Julie is Clumsy, I roll a dice to see if she drops things/falls over. This does not apply to Quidditch.
