A Spoiled Cat For a Spoiled Girl Pet Finished

Anastasia Beckett had been begging her parents for a pet for ages. Specifically, a cat. She felt like that was just something that she needed. Anyways, she thought she had been behaving pretty well lately and hadn't snapped at her parents or even attempted to set them on fire. Anyway, her birthday and Christmas had just happened, so maybe her parents would be in a giving mood. For some reason, her parents were very generous with objects and not remotely generous with love or anything else that would give Ana a healthy childhood.

Ana legitimately couldn't believe that had worked. After years and years of begging, when she asked, they glanced at each other and had said yes. She knew the exact kind of cat she wanted. A Bengal. She just couldn't resist the idea of a cat that looked like a wildcat and was as intelligent as Bengals were known to be. From her research, she had concluded that Bengals were practically Ana in cat form. OOooooh, what if Anastasia became an Animagus and her form was a cat? How amazing would that be? Still, she was getting ahead of herself. She had to select and name her cat before she could turn herself into a cat and hang out with it. 

Smiling, Ana and her parents entered the shop. As soon as Ana entered, she could tell exactly which cat she was meant to have. It was a small Bengal kitten that made eye contact with her as she walked through the door, and continued to stare at her curiously as her parents spoke with the shop keepers. After a few moments of overhearing the irritating small talk her parents insisted on making, Ana wandered away. She looked at a few other cats, but the Bengal stared at her the entire time. 

Finally, she made her way over to the curious little thing and crouched to see it better. The cat mewed indignantly when she held out a hand to sniff and turned and sat down with its back to her. After about thirty seconds, the little fuzzball couldn't resist and curiously sniffed the extended fingers. It then affectionately rubbed its mouth against her hand, marking Ana as its property. Ana chuckled and waved her parents over. Now, she just had to think of a name for the kitten. It needed something beautiful but fierce. Ana already had many ideas. She liked Cleocatra but felt like the cat deserved a more serious name. Maybe Jasmine? That felt like a much too big name for such a small kitten. She decided she would name it Jasmine for when it grew into it, but for now, she'd call it Jaz.
