It's not technically robbing..?
Eris told Adam to wait outside. She had wanted to do this alone. She didn't want him knowing how much money she had planned to take out of the Rowell family vault. It was only fair she took a lot out of it, considering the fact her mother wasn't ever going to use all her money, and Eris's grandparents were dead. Well she didn't know that for a fact, but it was rumored that Erik and Athena Rowell had died of grief when their only daughter had ran away. If only they knew what their grand daughter was going to do, and what their daughter had turned out to be.
Eris climbed the steps of the marble bank, and walked through the front doors, pausing to read the engraving.
Eris frowned, reading the words. She wasn't stealing. It was her family's money after all. She was just taking it without permission. She couldn't help staring at the goblins, before walking up to one. Eris had to stare upwards and hop up and down to talk to the goblin, who was stated at a desk that was so high up that Eris's head didn't even reach the middle of it , "Hello," She paused to jump again. "I'd like to access the Rowell family vault. I'm Jane Rowell's daughter." Eris rummaged around in her pocket, pulling out an ancient looking key. She had always loved the key and how pretty it looked as a child, but after her mother had thrown it at her and told her to get out, Eris had kept it, not knowing what it was until a dorm mate pointed out to her that the key in her trunk was a key to a vault in Gringotts. She had thought it was just for show, and had kept it as a memory of her mother, but now she wondered if her mother had thrown it at Eris in the hopes that Eris would find her money and spend it. Maybe her mother cared more about Eris than it looked like
Eris hopped up and threw the key up. It slapped down on the desk hard on the desk and the goblin looked displeased. Eris simply smiled at the goblin, face breaking out into a mild blush of embarrassment at the look on his face. He took the key in long, spider like hands, gingerly turning it over, with the amount of care one might give to a baby. He looked it over, than finally nodded ."Follow me, young miss Rowell." He said, handing the girl back the key as he stood up and walked away from the desk. Eris wrinkled her nose at the name, but bit her tongue. She didn't want to correct the goblin, as he already was displeased after her throwing of the key, but followed after the goblin, planning to grab as much money as humanly possible.
The cart ride to the Rowell vault was jerky, and Eris couldn't help but enjoy it. It reminded her of the roller coasters she had gone on as a child. The cart flew past strange room, after strange room, going father down into the earth until it stopped. The goblin hopped out, and stroked a finger down what looked to be a solid wall with a transparent shiny thing. The wall gave way, exposing a room full of gold, copper, and silver coins. The Rowell fortune.
Eris stared at it in shock. She had imagined some money, but not this much. Carefully, she stepped into the room, wondering if she was a dream, before starting to pile mounds of gold and silver coins into her jacket pockets and the small bag she had brought along with her. When she finally deemed she had enough, Eris hopped back into the cart, excited to go buy a present for Adam and his family. It was the least she could do for him.
Eris climbed the steps of the marble bank, and walked through the front doors, pausing to read the engraving.
"Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there."
