Wolfie had been taught many things by her older friends back home. Proper protocol on many things. Mostly bad stuff. One of these was what she was planning to do now. Smoke. If was to be done correctly at a school it was an elaborate affair. You needed a place you knew no one would be for at least fifteen minutes. In case you were wrong you needed a lookout. Sometimes more than one. Once alerted of incoming danger you needed some place to hide or get rid of the cigarettes. A flushing toilet was useful for this. And some way of covering the smell. This required a strong deodorizing spray and a flow of air. A flow that was known to lead consistently lead away from the smokers. All of that, or a teacher on the take. Perhaps bribed with cigarettes themselves. It was organized crime really.

Unfortunately for Wolfie she was just arrived at Hogwarts. Like a mobster intending to establish la Cosa Nostra in New York city. She needed time. Learn the terrain. The pieces on the board. Do favors for others and then ask for favors back. Recruit. Recon opposing forces, their strengths. How to neutralize them. All she had instead was a deodorizing spray. There were back up strategies though. Actions to be taken in an emergency. The typical response to being so disadvantaged was simply to create distance. This too was difficult as she had classes to attend. She could also have just not smoked. But she was weak. So here Wolfie was. About to enter what looked like a haunted bathroom. How her old friends would have looked down on her. Flitting about like an amateur.

Wolfie looked both ways into the corridor outside the bathroom before crossing into the light from the doorway. It was too dark to be sure anyone was around. She certainly didn't hear anyone though. That had to be good enough. She held her breath and dived in.

It was a little spooky inside the bathroom, but must have been rather marvelous new. A large structure resembling a fountain in the middle of the entrance served as wash basins. Off to one side was a corridor. Both sides lined with stalls. No urinals. It was a girl's bathroom then. And it was also not new anymore. Tiles lay cracked and a layer of grime had accumulated over a lot of it.

Wolfie didn't mind. She made her way over to the corridor with the stalls, careful to avoid any shards of mirror or ceramic. But not very slowly. She had limited time for her excursion. One misstep kicked a piece of marble which was sent bouncing. Its sound was magnified by the silence of the space.

"Shit." Wolfie muttered to herself. More loudly than she had intended. A smaller internalized curse cursed the curse before she continued into the bathroom's corridor. Picking one of the two furthest stalls Wolfie put her hand against the door. It wouldn't budge. She tried her shoulder next. Still wouldn't. She tried the stall opposite. This one had some give but it made a godawful creaking sound. It would have to do. Putting all her weight onto her forward leg she slammed into it, opting for a louder but shorter squeak. It only opened a crack.

"Ow." Wolfie said. This time in a whisper. The action had been enough though. A space just small enough for a girl her age to squeeze through. She held her breath and smooshed herself into the stall. Wolfie then fished out a lighter from her robe. She could barely see. But she knew it was almost empty. She didn't even know Incendio either. Even if she did it would raise suspicions using incendio all over Hogwarts outside of class. She was pretty sure the teachers could track that sort of thing. So she was stuck with matches and lighters. She grabbed her spray and set it down. Then a cigarette. In her haste she didn't grip it properly and it fell out of her hand. She squinted at the floor. It wasn't where she had heard it fall. It must have bounced.

A frustrated roar came out of Wolfie. Yet she got on her hands and knees and felt around for the lost cigarette all the same. Cursing loudly. She had few left. She found lots of things that weren't a cigarette before finding one that was. Wolfie had no idea what the other things were. Didn't care either. A flame was quickly produced and she puffed away. Every few puffs she sprayed the air. This was hardly worth it. All this trouble for something she had lost all enjoyment for. This was no fun. No fun at all. Wolfie didn't even bother to stand back up. She just wallowed on the floor. She imagined sinking into it and disappearing. Today had been crap. Total crap.

"Lumos." It was faint, the girl's voice. The strange person in the bathroom wouldn't be able to hear, but they would be able to see the light coming from the wand that Eris Fawley held in her hands. Quick! Look badass. The dim light of the room did nothing to hide the brightness of Eris Fawley's hair, which was currently redder than the sun and nearly luminescent in the darkness. Shaking her head and holding her wand out, Eris stared at the shoes on the floor with an expression of interest, apparently not realizing that shoes did not have eyes to see.

Throwing herself against one of the sinks in an attempt to lean against it and look tough, Eris remembered the one-liners all superheroes offered when finding someone doing something strange. "This bathroom's abandoned for a reason." Eris said carefully. It had been luck, really, that had lead to Eris hearing a roar from inside the strange second-floor bathroom.

Or a lack of luck, if you were being technical. She had been lost in the hallways again. Even as a second year, the short child's remembrance for the hallways and corridors of Hogwarts was mediocre at best. She had giddily traversed through the halls in a vain attempt to find more secrets of the castle, yet again, to start the day off. It was one of the things that Eris could never tire of. Running around Hogwarts and flying on her broom were two hobbies that Eris cherished, even in the dark days following the fight with Ben and the absence of all her friends.

Her exploration had taken a strange turn, considering it had hardly started. After leaving the Great Hall, after another ravenous meal, she had hoped to find some friends and recruit them for the mission of haunting the halls, to raise spirits. Yet, the sound of someone cussing up a storm in a bathroom had caught Eris' attention. Not that it was really a storm of curses, she supposed. Really, she had only heard one curse, but Eris delighted in such vulgarity. Cursing and being rude were things that Dorian and Max were good at, and things that seemed to signify that you were big and mature.

Although, Eris was neither big nor was she mature. It had shocked her to hear the voice seemed American. There was no trace of the familiar voices that were often heard around the castle, all varying but unmistakeably European. However, this person sounded like Ami. American. Was it Ami? No, the voice sounded a bit different. How would she know? The voice had only spoken one word, but it did not sound British.

Just to make sure, Eris muttered "shit", once, under her breath to see if she sounded American. Pleased to hear that she didn't sound American, her pleasure turned to worry at the obvious elephant in the room.

Eris was wary at once, as her memories of a certain American hufflepuff . She hadn't seen the hufflepuff after smashing her kneecap. It had pleased Eris that Ami hadn't reported the attack to any of the professors, because what Dorian and Eris had done to her was unmistakably horrible. The events of the night came back in a fiery haze, which was strange. Eris had not expected to think about one of the first times that she had lost control at Hogwarts. She had merely hoped to investigate the bathroom and the source of an American accent.

But guilt was powerful. Eris felt guilty for the burning of the hufflepuff, the breaking of her bones, and the lies. She felt guilt, mixed with pride, but at the moment--all she felt was guilt. What if it was Ami in there, or one of her American friends, waiting to ambush and jump Eris? She was small, and even though Eris was loathe to admit it, she wasn't the best fighter. Maybe it had been a mistake to disregard the multiple offers people had made to give her knives.

Frowning and shoving her worried thoughts into a dark corner of her mind, Eris removed herself from the dilapidated sink. She had only been in the abandoned bathroom once before, which was a strange experience on its own. Remembering, fondly, a girl shorter than her and a strange affair of hugging on the floor of a broken and destroyed bathroom, Eris ventured forward.

Dodging glass and grime alike, Eris averted the light from her wand. She saw the shoes of someone in one of the stalls, but couldn't see the person. Taking a step closer and trying to point her wand through the cracks in the stall, Eris muttered a few select swears under her breath at the muck on the ground.

And so, the light from her wand went off. A determined voice could be heard, as Eris pursed her lips and muttered to herself. "S movement, yeah? Scourgify!" Where the muck had been, everything seemed to vanish. Delighted with her luck, Eris figured that it would be too risky to cast another spell. She didn't know if she could cast lumos again, so she basked in the pride of casting the cleaning charm.

Right. Now onto the matter of the stranger in the stall. Tilting her head to the side, still attempting to see into the stall, Eris pocketed her wand and crossed her arms. "I'm not a prefect, you know. It's awfully boring if you hide in that stall all day." She remarked, head already rushing with ideas of who might be in the stall.

Adam had never believed in ghosts. They were silly things when he was a kid -- nothing more than a white sheet with two holes for the eyes. That's how all of the cartoons showed them, at least, and when they weren't so lazily drawn they always seemed too nice to be real. Ghost dogs, cats, and little kids were helping out all over the TV screen in creepy movies like Coraline or the twisted one about Christmas. By the age of ten, he'd pretty much figured it all out. Ghosts were just made up for scary stories and Halloween sales. Then, he had finally come to Hogwarts, and everything had changed. As soon as he'd gotten through the front doors, he'd been face to face with at least a dozen spirits all floating around: real, actual proof that his parents and his brother hadn't been just trying to frighten him when they talked about their house ghosts.

It did make sense, if you thought about it; or more accurately, there was no reason for it to not make sense. If magic was real (and there had never been any question to Adam that it was), then ghosts were perfectly acceptable. He just wished that they didn't have to be all over the school. Although Adam knew that none of the ghosts of Hogwarts would ever hurt him, they still unnerved him greatly, to the point where he sometimes found himself taking a longer way to class to stay out of their sight. Mostly, they kept to themselves and he kept to himself, and he liked that. Adam didn't want to offend anyone, but he just really couldn't get over the creepiness of them! They were all bloody, and wounded, and even if they weren't bloody and wounded they had died tragically somehow and been left behind, which was just...too much to handle. It was the ghosts that he was perhaps most worried about at school, but ironically, it was the ghosts that drew him towards the abandoned bathroom on the second floor.

He'd been on his way to Charms when he'd been forced to change course at the sight of a pair of specters. Instead of going straight up to the third floor, he'd been forced to turn into the corridors and find another staircase up to the classroom. Adam had only taken a few steps when he'd heard the first of the noises, a muffled, angry yell from nearby. Freezing in place, he'd looked around but had been unable to see anyone who might have made such a noise. Proceeding cautiously down the hall, the next few moments had left Adam in a tense silence until he'd gotten close enough for the noises to start again. They weren't quite as angry this time around, but quieter, and it was much harder to figure out what or who might be making them. There was no doubt, though, that they were coming from the old bathroom. The sounds from inside started up more randomly this time, almost like it was a voice in a conversation. A one-sided conversation, that was -- could he be dealing with a crazy ghost? Adam had never met a crazy ghost before, but they had to be even worse than regular ghosts! Instinctively, he'd taken two steps back from the doorway to the bathroom, but caught himself on the third.

What was he doing? Adam was a prefect, an experienced one at that, and he wasn't allowed to back away from something as potentially dangerous as a crazy ghost in the school. These types of recon-and-confrontation missions never went very well for him, but what was the other option? Doing nothing? That was barely an option. Gritting his teeth and drawing his wand, Adam held it firmly in his grip and raised it in front of him, trying to seem as menacing as he could. It was hard with such a delicate weapon. Filling his mind with thoughts of what his braver Gryffindor friends would do in a situation like this, Adam steeled himself for action and pushed through into the room.

"Freeze!" he nearly called, but that was a little corny, not to mention extremely cheeky if it turned out to be something he couldn't stop. Searching the room for signs of any trouble, Adam's eyes struggled to adjust to the lack of light. Squinting to make out a rusty sconce on the wall, he pointed his wand at the top of the candle and muttered, "Incendio." The spell sputtered for a second, but the flame reached the old wick and mercifully spread to it, giving the boy just a little more to see by. Adam turned towards the row of stalls and nearly had a heart attack when he saw someone lurking there. The light flickered around her, but there was no mistaking who it was, especially through the weakened darkness: Eris Fawley.

"Eris?!" Adam called incredulously. "What are -- what are you doing here? Where's the ghost?" A swarm of thoughts like a hundred little gnats were all trying to occupy him at once, and the tips of his ears started to burn red as one pushed its way through. Was this a girls' bathroom? What else would Eris be doing here? Attempting to hide his spreading blush, Adam angled his head away from his friend but kept his wand out. "I don't think it's safe in here. If you, uh, came in with someone....it's probably better to use a working bathroom. Is everything okay?" There was too much to be addressed at once, but he was trying to get through it all. Hopefully Eris had a worthy explanation for all of this -- one that didn't involve ghosts.

Admittedly Miko had been running in the halls which was a classic rule to not do but he still did it. Where was he sprinting from? The Great Hall, and why was he doing so? Classified reasons..in other words he doesn't want anyone to know and it's complicated to explain so you know, classified information. He was trying to find a seemingly empty room and here it was, the abandoned toilets. They were normally empty so maybe it would work. The Hufflepuff tried to screech to a halt before the door but instead the flash of black and yellow fell inside the toilets with a loud thud.

Rubbing his head which had made the loud noise, he stood up. This was not a very good situation, a prefect in the restroom?! The situation would either mean trouble or well, he was the trouble and Miko wasn't the trouble. Where there is trouble there is a good story and adventure so the boy was not planning to leave anytime soon. Instead he was planning to find out what all the trouble was and why the Ravenclaw thought there was a ghost.

It was common knowledge all the ghosts in Hogwarts would proudly present themselves but this wasn't the case. There very clearly was four humans in here and only three were out in the open. The mystery was who else was in the abandoned toilets with the three that were clearly visible. He heard someone swear which was a British accent so maybe it was them. No, definitely not because the person whom spoke the word was one of the three out in the open. Brits were everywhere but also Scots like himself, after all Hogwarts takes students from Britain so of course there would be both British students and Scottish ones.

The prefect boy had said he didn't think it was very safe to be in here and those exact words got the Hufflepuff excited. Whatever was happening wasn't safe? Boom, adventure and a good story, this was something to stay for. "Well..safety's good and all but then there is danger and that is rather fun!" He told the other boy in his usual thick Scottish accent. Although he spoke in a very clear Scottish accent this one sentence was better to understand out of the rest he had ever said while being at this school.

Right, it wasn't safe because of how broken it was.
Cracks in the mirrors and walls.
Dust everywhere with all the weird noises coming from it.
Worst of all, the bloody rust on the sinks! Not to mention the extremely dysfunctional toilets.
The whole situation was gross but Miko didn't mind.
He never minds, what a gem.

In the darker area the Hufflepuff was in he could make out blue, red and of course his yellow. That meant there was at least one Hufflepuff, one Ravenclaw, and one Gryffindor. Funny, almost one from every single house only if there was a Slytherin lurking somewhere would it be complete. Of course the hiding witch or wizard could be a Slytherin but also could be any other house so for now at least one from three houses. But those colors were all he could really see from his area at which he stood but that was because of the darkness that fell over the bathroom due to the lights not working. Of course they didn't work, nothing works in this room, nothing. The sinks and toilets too!

We could get killed! Or worse, EXPELLED

"Bathroom, bathroom, bathroom!'

Quick footsteps clacked along the Great Hall's floors. A young boy, swift as wind, ran for his life, searching for a place to "deposit" his "belongings". After being sorted into a house, Luciel directly jumped into the dining table, which was by far, the biggest mistake in his life. Who in their right mind would eat their fill at a castle?! Especially one where they don't know the bathroom's location?!

"Good lord, move! It's coming out!" In his desperation, the young lad started to shove people away that were blocking his path, he didn't care if he was gonna get scolded, he didn't have enough time left, he needed to find a bathroom immediately!

10 minutes of running around the hall ended in disappointment, the poor boy was already grabbing his bum, hoping that the "bombs" wouldn't drop too soon or that would be the end of his social life. Anxiety slowly enveloped him as every second passed. The "bombs" were really gonna blow soon. Without a choice, he decided to run amok the hall again. He grabbed a nearby student's collar, ignoring everything else, he gave the student a desperate shriek.

"BATHROOM!"

Stunned by his sudden arrival and immediate assault, the student blankly pointed towards a location with shaking hands. Luciel looked towards the direction he was pointing at and let go of his collar, of course, shrieking at him once more.

"THANK YOU!"

Clutter!

"Ahhhh...."

Bursting through the door and jumping into the first stall he saw, he finally did it. He made it.

"I should write this down in my list of achievements... not a lot of people can hold their belongings that long."

He was reveling in his success when he noticed something odd, the entire place was oddly dim and dilapidated. Lavatories aren't supposed to be dim and broken down. Then rustling, after that came voices. There were people outside. The young boy perked up his ears and listened in on their conversation. He couldn't hear a lot, only a few words. Specifically, "prefect" and "ghosts".

'Th... there are ghosts here...?'

The boy decided to focus on the conversation outside. Being a new student with ZERO ideas on what's going on around him, he needed to obtain some information first. He might hear something useful, he might now, but what thing's for sure, if he's found out, he's totally dead. Why? That's because he clearly saw the sign when he bombed the door, thus, he's aware that this was a place meant for ladies.
