Private Roleplay between Anastasia Beckett and @Kyle DeRook
Date: 18 September 2020
Time:5:00 p.m. After classes are done for the day but before dinner
Anastasia Beckett had too much on her plate. She had flung herself into schoolwork lately to occupy herself and avoid her thoughts about the complete mess her life had become. She had also flung herself into several fights lately, and it wasn't going well. Additionally, she had more than a few enemies from previous years that seemed determined to start a war. She didn't have the time or energy to focus on all of that. The schoolwork wasn't exactly optional and the random fights weren't something she planned out ahead of time. That left her long term enemies. She couldn't just surrender and even if she could, she wouldn't out of pride.

It had seemed that, for once, the universe had decided to help her out when she happened across a flyer talking about someone called "Rook" who claimed to deal with people's enemies for them. It seemed to be worth an inquiry.

She strolled into the Abandoned Bathrooms, a pocket full of galleons and a black king chess piece her hand. She rolled it back and forth as she contemplated for a moment whether or not this was really the best idea. On the one hand, she felt rather like she was taking the easy way out. On the other hand, her talents and energy would be far better spent on things that were a bit more productive than plotting the downfalls of various other students.

She committed to her plan and set the chess piece on the sink in front of the door that had what could generously be called a castle on it. She wasn't entirely clear on how this was supposed to work, since the poster had been rather sparse in terms of details. Did he just hang out in the Bathroom all day in case someone came in? That seemed less than sanitary and also rather odd. Then again, she wasn't one to judge.

Kyle sat sideways in the old stall, boots up on the wall and his back against the stall wall. He was dressed in his torn ratty jeans, with his black boots that were perpetually untied. his red and black stripped shirt was half untucked revealing a black belt with silver crosses and studs, and finally his leather jacket. He wore two necklaces, one on a black rope which was a stone carved to look like a wolf head with the celtic rune for wolf carved on it, the other a silver bullet that was inside his shirt on a metal chain, hidden from sight. He ran a hand through his shoulder length shaggy hair and let out a slight sigh. he had been here for a few hours so far today waiting for anyone. he usually spent much of his time waiting for anyone who might be interested in his services, or he would wander the halls and spend time at the lake and check here intermittently. So far, no clients. but then, he heard the click of something being placed on the sink infront of his stall.

Kyle kicked his stall door open and walked forward out of it and he locked his steel blue eyes on the girl infront of him, the face scar running from under his left eye to his jaw line impossible to miss. He stood silently watching the girl for a few moments, hands resting in his jacket pockets before he finally spoke.

"Whose the target, and what is the severity of beating they are gonna get" His Irish accent was very defined. Kyle reached out and grabbed the king chess piece and deposited it into his inside chest pocket of his leather jacket before leaning on the wall, never taking his eyes off of the girl.

Ana's already rigid posture stiffed slightly at the sound of a door behind her being kicked open and she whirled around. A boy whose aesthetic could best be described as an escaped prisoner from Azkaban fell into a Muggle meatgrinder and then was punched repeatedly had materialized before her. Materialized wasn't the correct word, as he had clearly been hanging out in the stall and had made quite the entrance. Was it technically an entrance if he was already there? Also, who in their right mind would choose to just skulk about a bathroom stall?

Again, she forced back her questions and focused her attention. Having taken in his prisoner chic outfit, she was now more focused on the "Rook" himself. He wasn't as tall as she would have expected, and she had definitely been picturing him older. Still, the scar on the left side of his face that she made a distinct choice not to linger on and his muscular build made her optimistic as to his capabilities when it came to beating others up.

She ought to have been a bit more unnerved by the whole thing than she was, but at this point, she doubted anything could phase her. Her dark eyes met his steely blue ones. "Liam Walker," she said crisply, her posh accent wildly clashing with her current situation. Her eyes never left his as she continued. This was somehow reminiscent of things she had read about wild animals. Although, if she remembered correctly, making and refusing to break eye contact was how to provoke certain species into aggression. Not exactly what she was trying to do here. As before, these thoughts raced through her mind in a moment and her expression gave none of them away. "And quite severely would be ideal."

She felt a final twinge of doubt. Was she honestly hiring Mr. Chess/Azkaban Prisoner to go beat up some first-year who hadn't even been the biggest irritation she had encountered that week? Even if that was a fight she decided she wanted to choose, she ought to not be a snake about it and do it herself. Except, she had far better uses of her time. The boy wasn't completely innocent, and in any event, he was more collateral damage than anything else. He was a chance to see if this Rook was actually a viable option for future, more deserving enemies, as well as a way to prove a point to a certain redhead.
OOC Note: Liam Walker is Katrina Walker's dNPC brother and I have already asked her permission for Ana to send Kyle after him.

Kyle cocked an eyebrow at the posh accent. Under different circumstances that was the exact kind of accent that would cause him to shove someone head first into a toilet or a trashcan. however, that would be poor taste to do to a client so he would need to abstain...for now anyway. When the girl named the target he furrowed his brow some and made a slight face be he let out a sigh and leaned his head back, slightly annoyed. "Alright, I don't even know who half my teachers are, let alone this Liam asshole. You have a description? Picture? Anything I can use to actually track down and find the guy?" he shook his head. Has noone ever seen any muggle movies where people hire hitmen? there was a protocol to these types of things.

He stopped leaning on the wall and stood up straight, casually resting his hands in his pockets. "And this beating. You want it in public, or private. You want him to know who sent me or keep it a mystery. Hell do you even want him to know someone sent me. The Devil is in the details girly. You want this done right, and the way you want it you gotta give me those details. Yeah?"

Ana noted the eyebrow arch at her accent. Granted, people with her upbringing probably didn't generally meet hitmen in bathrooms, but she knew for a fact that her father had hired someone to arrange some sort of accident for one of his colleges. Paying people to do dirty work was something that was far more common than not in pureblood culture but nobody spoke about it. It was rather like the rampant marital infidelity now that she thought about it. Still, she didn't need to start an argument with someone she was aiming to obtain service from.

"Why yes, of course, let me run and get a picture of him," she said dryly. The fact that he didn't know half of his teachers was mildly concerning, even considering Hogwarts' abnormally high turnover rate. Most of their professors had been there for a while, so this really just meant he was either spectacularly unobservant or had memory issues. Neither of which were ideal for a hitman. "He's short and blond. His sister is this insufferable redhead with a teal streak. She's a third-year Gryffindor. " She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. The entire point of this endeavor was to make her life easier. "Definitely very public, and I don't particularly care whether or not anyone knows someone sent you. I'd prefer it not be traced back to me, of course."

She was definitely going to need to look into more agreeable henchmen. While she didn't doubt his capabilities, he was far more combative than she would have liked. Was there a market for other schoolyard hitmen?

he blinked at her. Short, and blonde. Really? half the student body was pre-pubescent. They were all short! And if he had a sickle for every blonde kid he saw Kyle could probably buy himself a second Tinderblast broom. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose before taking a deep breath. This was his first contract, and he needed to try and start off in the black. Maybe he could hang out in the common room until he saw a redhead with a teal streak, and just stalk her until she led him to her brother. Its not like there was a time limit on this or anything. "Fine yeah, whatever. Ill track him down. But next time, try and get me what the target looks like. I dont mind beating up the wrong person, but since you are gonna pay me before the job. I am sure you want me to get it right."

He slipped his left hand back into his pocket, but he held out his right hand expectantly. "Speakin' a which. A galleon for the job, and you have my guarantee they will get the beating that is owed to them and even under Crucio you don't need to worry about me naming you as the one who hired me. I would Like to think it goes without saying, but I hope you will take a similar approach to keeping my anonymity"

Ana rather wondered if he had actually done this before. She wasn't as up to date on rumors as she used to be, so she could be wrong, but she didn't remember any particularly memorable stories about a boy fitting his description beating anyone up. Granted, she didn't remember most things that she found uninteresting, especially in regards to other people.

She arched an eyebrow slightly at his words. She didn't particularly mind if he got the wrong person as long as eventually, he got the target, but it did sound a bit more efficient for him to get it right on the first try. She reached into her pocket to produce the golden coin. She knew that money was something she took for granted, but a galleon seemed rather inexpensive for someone's loyalty under torture. Not that she was complaining, but she wondered how a galleon was worth Crucio. She could think of a handful of people that she was that loyal to. She also was rather curious as to the logistics, for example, if someone offered him 100 galleons for the name. That wasn't her concern and she brushed it off. Walker didn't seem like she had that level of resources at her disposal. Even if Walker did eventually find out, Ana didn't care. She was proving a point.

"Naturally," she said, dropping the coin into his hand. "Pleasure doing business with you." With that, she turned sharply and exited the nasty bathrooms. God, why would he have chosen there of all the places to meet?
