A dark forest at night.

Trees made of shadows.

His own panicked breathing as he ran.

Heavy pounding behind him as he is chased.

Then, like it always does...it Catches him. A Large wolf with dark brown fur and a scar under it's left eye down to its jawline is ontop of him. Then, its jaws clamp around his throat.
Kyle Wakes up with a start, covered in a cold sweat as his heart pounds in his chest. He grimaces and rolls out of bed and quickly pulls on a ripped pair of jeans, slips on his boots and puts his leather jacket on over his sleep shirt(Which was a little large on him and had some obscure punk band's logo on it)

He ran a hand through his messy, nearly shoulder length hair to get it out of his face and he quickly left the common room and made it out into the halls. The Full moon was the next day, and he could feel the Curse alive and eager in his blood. He was on edge, his skin was a sickly pallor, the bags under his eyes darker and his complexion was clammy. He was deep in the throes of pre-transformation and as always this left him an a rather unpleasant state. Irritable, angrier than normal, and with a nagging energy he felt a need to burn off. He couldn't wait until it was over.

He could feel everyone's eyes on him as he walked through the halls, sure they were watching him. talking about him. judging him. condemning him. They knew what he was, and they hated him. he knew it.

He snarled to himself and he ducked into the abandoned toilets and quickly walked across the room, checking all the stalls to make sure he was alone.

As he paced back and forth in the room he looked down at the newest of his scars. The Celtic Rune for Wolf he had scratched into the back of his hand. Even though it had just happened, as with all werewolf scratches, it left a deep scar and was impossible to miss. While looking at his hand he noticed his sharpened nails, a decision he still wasnt sure why he made and a quick memory his the wolf's claws digging into dirt as it ran flashed through his mind. He closed his eyes and shook his head. "Keep your shit together Rook" he mutters to himself

Demons were clingy.
That was one of the lessons Opeila had learned in her past year. One that she did well to remember. Demons allowed one a break from time to time, but they always seemed to return. Haunted her.

Today, in potions, they suddenly broke through the blurry wall of distraction that the school routine built around her. Opeila had always had a high respect for potions but now, that one had taken someone she loved away from her, she wished she could quit the subject. She had not touched any unknown liquids since the holidays. No unknown food.
Not from students that meant, the schoolfood she still ate.

In potions it had been like someone had turned the light out suddenly. Right after she found out that they would learn how to brew the sleeping draught this year. Opeila knew that she had to learn about it, she just wished she had more time to process the death of her mother before.
In that moment she had just... started to panic. All the fear and pain of the last year came flooding back in, broke the doors she had so desperately tried to lock it behind.

That was the reason, why Opeila decided to go to the abandoned bathroom. She had to push her demons back to where they couldn't hurt her.

When she opened the door to the bathroom, she immediately remembered why she had avoided this room most of the time the last year. She had bumped into this boy before, in the same room, but the encounter had been too short for introductions. And too tense.
She sighed quietly. "Is this where you spend all of your free time?"

She couldn't help a slightly annoyed tone. Why did she even talk to him? From the looks of it he was in a similar mood as the last time. Last time there had at least been Aurelia in the room as well...

While Rook stared into the sink a scent invaded his thoughts and pulled his attention away. Pine, a scent he knew all too well but there as accent's of something different. Softer. Lavender? He blinked and looked away from the sink to rest his steel blue eyes on the girl that had entered. And it was a face he recognized pretty quickly. He couldn't remember names for the life of him but he never forgot a face. Especially one who made a habit of intruding into the spaces he was trying to use privately during a time he was, admittedly, not at his best. On edge and irritable. And the tone she spoke to him with, one of condescension. like she thought he was better than him. Something about that sparked the beast deep inside of him and it raised its hackles in defiance, Causing Kyle to react the same way.

He Took a step forward towards the girl and snarled, lifting up his left hand to show off his sharpened nails and he spoke gruffly "This is where I come to make noisy Gits regret getting out of bed. And Id sure love to indulge." he took another step towards her, and another. In his hard gaze there would be something primal behind his eyes, as if he was out for blood and intended to collect.

The boy noticed her before she even said a thing. Not a feat, it was not like Opeila had tried to be particularly quiet, the old door had made a quiet but squealing noise when she opened it.

And, yes, he seemed on edge. Like she already feared. What was the matter with this boy that he was so angry every time she saw him? Alright, only twice now, but still...
And Opeila picked the wrong tone. Wrong, very wrong tone. It had not been much, almost neutral, but... not quite. Opeila was exhausted, she had hoped to find a place where she could calm down again. Instead she provoked this aggressive Gryffindor the moment she walked in.

The boy lifted up his left hand- was he showing her his nails? Well... It was effective. Opeila took a step back, her right hand automatically reached into the pocket she kept her wand in, and grabbed it. Combined with his words- Oh, his language was still as bad as the last time- it was clear the he was threatening her. But why?

He stepped closer, and Opeila took another step back, and another, until her back hit the door, which closed again after she entered.
"I-I'm sorry. That was rude of me.", Opeila said, trying to keep her voice steady. "My name is Opeila Winters and I was looking for some privacy. I didn't know this room was taken." Her right hand still held on to the wand in her pocket. This boy did not look like a person one could talk to. That didn't mean that Opeila wouldn't try. She didn't like to make opinions over prejudices.

Kyle tensed up, and clenched his jaw as he saw the girl reach for her wand. The beast inside of him wanted to fight, wanted to reach forward and slam the girl through the door. He took a deep breath and he punched the door hard next to the girls head. He then snarled and leaned in some "If you are going to draw on me, you better hope you put me down for good with the first spell. Or else you will really regret it."

Part of him really wanted the girl to cast on him, to give him a reason or an excuse to attack her. He wanted a chance to just rough someone up, to burn some of his anger and his frustration and pent up energy. And even though he wanted to do all that, there was a nag in the back of his mind, reminiscent of his cousin, that didnt want him to just beat up a girl unprovoked. Maybe he was going soft.

"Whats it gonna be runt. You want to throw down, or are you gonna meekly tuck out with your tail between your legs." his voice then dropped and took a dangerous edge "Come on, make my day"

Opeila's hand gripped the ashwood wand tightly, when the boy came closer. A part of her wanted to rip the door open again and run out, a different, very small part wanted to hex him into oblivion. And the rest of her seemed to be turned off causing her to stand in front of the door, motionless, like a deer blinded by the headlight of a car, watching the approaching danger.

The boy punched the door next to her head, causing her to wince. The dull noise of the wood seemed to vibrate through her body, making her come back to life. "I don't want to draw on you", she heard herself say. Her voice was calm and steady now, good. "I don't want to put you down, you idiot. But if you don't back off this instant, you don't give me much of a choice." Was she out of her mind?! Her whole body tensed, ready to draw her wand and sent him flying into the mirror on the other side of the room in a second.

He was provoking her, she realized when he started to speak again. It was almost like he wanted her to attack him, but it was clear that she would pay if she did.
This made Opeila more nervous. He only waited for her to give him a reason to hurt her.

Not only was she refusing to get out like he demanded, she made a claim that she would put him down if he didn't back off from her. It was as if she wanted to get thrown around the bathroom. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath...

then He reached forward and grabbed the Girl and half pulling as he turned, then shifting into a shove as he went to push/throw the girl across the bathroom floor. Once he let go of her and glared in the direction the girl went he snarled a bit, annoyed by her and the situation in general.

"If yer gonna hit someone do it. gonna draw on them, doing it. Dont just quiver and shake and hope the person backs down from you. How stupid do yer parents gotta be to make someone like you. Its a shock any of you can survive day to day"

The angry Gryffindor boy shook his head and shoved his hands back into his pockets as he glared at the girl he just unceremoniously sent across the bathroom to get away from the door and from him. "In the Future, stay away from here and stay away from me. Last. Warning."

Opeila looked at the boy's face tried to see something, anything that would give her a warning, a splitsecond to react before he attacked her. But when he grabbed her and pulled her away from the door, she wasn't prepared. Her gasp echoed through the bathroom and then she was flying through the room, only had time to hold out her arms to catch herself, save herself from a worse collision with the floor. The side of her face met the ground anyway.

The world seemed to explode in stars in front of her eyes. A sharp pain just abover her right eyebrow. A shaking hand reached up to her face and felt something wet on her forehead. She carefully sat up and blinked a few times, tried to see clearly again. Her left hand found something sharp on the floor. The piece of a mirror maybe? Was that what cut her face?

The boy was talking again, telling her to do it if she was going to attack someone. "I-wasn't... Why on earth do you want to-" He mentioned her parents. A shot in the blue, but a clean hit it was. "Shut up. Shut up now.", she snapped, finally feeling burning anger raise inside her. How dare he.

It was a shock any of them survived day to day. But they didn't. None of them survived. They all died, they were all gone. And this boy, this child, stood there and threw those things at her head like it was nothing but a harmless insult. Had he been alone ever? Completely alone? She hoped he had not. If he had not, it made him stupid to say such things. If he had, it made him a monster. She didn't realize that she raised her wandhand until she pointed it at him. "Flipendo!"

The spell caught him right in the chest and completely off guard. The force of the spell knocked the wind out of his lungs and shot him across the room, hitting a sink and spinning down to tumble to the ground and ending his trip against the wall. He coughed a few times and he could feel his blood boiling and he could not have been more angry. It wasn't enough that he was going to transform soon, have his bones snap and muscles tear as he was twisted into a monster. Wasnt enough that he was going to spend a night in chains like wild animal in a damp basement trashing and lamenting being able to run wild like he wants to. this girl had to steal from him his solitude and peace in the hours leading to that.

But fine, If she wanted to play rough. He would oblige.

Kyle snarled savagely as he got to his feet and he tightened his hands into fists and his locked his feral blue eyes on the smaller girl. He didn't carry a wand normally, hell often times he couldnt even tell you where it was without an hour or two of looking. Even if he did have his wand on him at the moment though it wouldnt matter. Kyle did not solve his problems with magic or spells. he thought it was weak, cowardly to hide before magic like that.

He wasn't sure if she would cast again, or try so he moved as quick as he could to cross the space. and as he got near her he would send out his left hand to try and grab her wand arm to try and keep the little piece of wood aiming somewhere else as his right hand shot forward, driving itself hard into the gut. one good body blow deserves another after all

"Dont Start a fight with someone with nothing to lose little girl" he growls at her, doing his best to intimidate her, making himself as large as he could as he towered over her

Opeila, still sitting on the ground was motionless, trapped in a temporary state of shock, when her spell sent Kyle through the room flying. The older boy crashed into the wall, hit a sink and fell onto the floor. The little Slytherin was speechless. It was not the first time that she casted that spell, but for sure the strongest she ever did. Normally, whoever got hit by her spells maybe got knocked off his feet but nothing else. She never actually sent someone flying meters away like now.

For a moment, only one moment, Opeila thought she had knocked him out. Then he coughed. The little girl carefully watched him getting to his feet- Maybe it was illogical that she was worried that she might have hurt him seriously, but she never meant to truly harm him. It had been a desperately angry move.
It was not until her look met his, that she realized that she was in danger. His fists, his whole body spoke a clear language and suddenly she was certain that she would not leave this room unharmed.

Opeila's eyes widened, she could only make one quick move, an attempt to get off the ground, before the boy had crossed the room again, grabbed her wandarm with one hand and hit her guts with the other. A high pitched gasp of pain echoed through the bathroom, as Opeila' body instinctively curled up as reaction. The young Slytherin gasped for air, her wandarm shaking in Kyle's grip. It was like the boy's punch had pressed all air out of her lungs and locked them after. She couldn't breathe.

Opeila's green eyes moved around the room without destination as she tried to regain control over her body functions, and finally locked with the blue ones of the boy towering over her. He told her not to start a fight with someone who had nothing to lose. So he knew what it was like to lose everything. No one was born with nothing to care about.
Opeila coughed, it took her a moment to get the words out. "You... You are not the only one, who... who lost things. Or people.", she responded. Finally she could breathe again, air filled her lungs, allowing her aching body to relax a little.

So he was a monster after all.
