Dark trees rush past, branches snapping against his broad shoulders. His claws dig deep into the dirt, throwing it into the air as he pushes himself faster and faster. He could almost taste the fear of his prey, their panicked gasps music to his ears. Then they come into view, arms and legs pumping as fast as they can as the boy tries to run away from him. Finally, he leaps and his target turns to face him as he tackles them into the ground. The boy looks up, their grey blue eyes wide in terror, their shaggy dark brown hair a mess. Then he leans down and buried his fangs into the boys throat.

Kyal wakes up suddenly, drenched in a cold sweat. Had it been a month again already? He slides out of bed and shambles towards the washroom and looks at himself in the mirror. His skin has lost some of its color and around his eyes were dark. The usual glint of mischief was gone from his eyes. Kyle shakes his head and leaves the washroom and gets dressed then heads out into the halls.

He felt like something the dog threw up, and he was sure he gave off the kind of body language that showed he wanted to be left alone. Just to make sure people understood he would glare at them as he passed, occasionally snarling at people who tried to greet him.

Then, his stomach turns and he feels like he’s gonna be sick and Kyle ducks into the abandoned toilets. He doesn’t get sick but he decides to hang out safe from prying eyes. Kyle walks to the sinks and Leans on one and stares angrilly at his own reflection. He knew it was in his mind but he could swear he saw the face of a wolf looking back at him. ”you make me sick...” he mutters, oblivious to the world around him

Lamik had made a decision, one that wasn't easy to make. Ever since the event in the abandoned bathrooms, the one were Kaegen Deathmote had decided that it would be a good idea to blow up a bomb, the boy had avoided that part of the school entirely. In fact, there were days when Lamik even purposefully avoided the entirety of the second floor- at least as much as possible with the need to go to classes and finish up errands. Today though, that would change. After consulting with his parents via owl, Lamik had felt confident enough to get over his fear of the abandoned bathrooms in the only way he knew how- by facing those fears head-on. Though some would laugh at the idea of being afraid to enter a room, Lamik didn't really mind as he knew he had a good reason.

Standing outside the door to the bathrooms, Lamik took a deep breath, readying himself for the experience. "Here goes nothing..." As he opened the door and stepped inside, the boy took a sigh of relief once he realized that there was not, in fact, an insane boy hanging around here at all times. He thought so at least.

"You make me sick..."

By one of the sinks, a boy was standing- one that didn't look all that stable himself. Laughing nervously at the unexpected stranger, Lamik forced himself to answer light heartedly, assuming that the disgruntled young boy was talking to him. "I tend to have that effect on people..."

Kyle wasn’t sure exactly how long he stood there glaring at his reflection, of that even was him looking back. He wasn’t entirely sure sometimes...especially with the dreams he always has around the full moon. He isn’t even entirely aware of the other student in the room with him, their words sort of entering Kyles mind then immediately leaving it as he continues to seeth. Then he blinked. Someone Had said something...didn’t they? But what did they say?

Kyle turns and his glare leaves the mirror and now is focused intently on the other boy. What did he say? Was he mocking him? Did he come here to tease the freak? Make fun of the monster? Who does he think he is?

Kyle stalks forward a step, his eyes glued to Lamik. ”I’m gonna give ya one chance to say that again. Think real hard about what you just said to me” he felt miserable and just wanted to be left alone, but maybe...maybe he’d feel a little bit better after throwing this guy around the bathroom a little ”And please...make me mad. Give me an excuse” any light hearted or mischievous tone he normally had to his voice was absent now

Lamik froze, staring straight at the boy. With every passing second, the dread that accompanied memories of Kaegen built up within him as he began worrying that this would be a bathroom bomb 2.0. Had he said something wrong? Lamik certainly didn't think he did. After all, the only words that came out of his lips were those that made fun of himself- but if he didn't say anything wrong, what was the boy so mad about?

Taking a few seconds to look at him a bit more closely, Lamik noticed how terrible the angry Gryffindor looked. Not terrible as in ugly, of course. Nothing about the person threatening him was especially aesthetically wrong. No, terrible in this case meant, well, tired. Tired and sick. "Do you- do you need to go to the nurse? I can help you get there if you do. I'm Lamik, by the way. It's nice to meet you." Through interacting with bullies back at home, Lamik had found that a good way to defuse a heated situation was to introduce yourself by name. Strangely enough, sometimes the trick also worked with people that you already knew- possibly because of the confusion that it caused.

[quote]Once again, Marla had made the decision to go to the abandoned toilets. It was her go to place, honestly. Almost nobody dared to go in there, with the rumors of that "Moaning Myrtle" n'all. But the young Gryffindor wasn't afraid. How could a ghost do harm? They're dead. And not only that, if she had the chance to meet this apparent Moaning Myrtle she'd take it gladly. Marla used to never believe in spirits, let alone a ghost that she could actually see. And now? Marla saw them every single day. In the halls, dungeons, on rare occasions classrooms. It was riveting. And entertaining. Sometimes she'd seek out Peeves just to watch him shove around students. It was mean, but she couldn't lie, it was pretty funny sometimes.

And so, Marla made her way down the steps of the fifth floor, her vibrant red hair pulled into a neat ponytail. For some reason, she felt like actually putting effort into her appearance today. Probably because she got to sleep for the first time in like, a month. At least she was in a good mood.

Soon enough Marla hopped down to the second floor, taking her usual twist and turns until she was in front of the ominous, thick door. It always took her a few seconds to push it open, it was very heavy, to be fair. But for some reason, the young Gryffindor stood there for a bit of time. For some reason she had a bad feeling about going inside. Not bad, per say, but weird. Like something was going on... Never mind that, if there was something going on at least it would be relatively fun. And so, she pushed the door open to hear a very familiar voice.

"...Give ya one chance to say that again. Think real hard about what you just said to me" The voice threatened, which became clearer as Marla opened the door even wider. When she revealed herself, the girl saw that it was Kyle! The dork that got her in trouble. But he looked... Different. Tired. "And please...make me mad. Give me an excuse" He added, sounding distressed. Marla furrowed her brows. Was he trying to be mean? That wouldn't seem very out of character.
Do you- do you need to go to the nurse? I can help you get there if you do. I'm Lamik, by the way. It's nice to meet you." Another voice, this one unrecognizable, spoke. It seemed that she wasn't the only one who thought he looked terrible. Was he not getting enough sleep? Did something happen?
"Uhm... Kyle?" She said, walking over to the two. Yikes. Up close, Kyle looked even worse. Eyes that usually had a devilish shine in them were almost matte. As if his gaze was at nothing. And the bags.. The bags under his eyes were very... Noticeable, to say the least. The other boy was a tinier one, though not tiny enough to stand at Marla's height. He had bright blue eyes and blonde hair that blended together harmoniously.
"I have to say Kyle... He's right. Lamik, I believe?" She looked at him to confirm that she said Lamik's name right, hearing him introduce himself before,"You look really tired. Are you sick?" She asked, moving a bit closer to examine his face. Not only was his appearance different, he definitely seemed less cheerful. Sorrow, even. And although she only met the boy once previously, worry began to form in her gut. What was going on with him? Not like he would tell anyone, Marla knew that for sure. Kyle definitely didn't seem like one to confide in strangers, let alone Marla. Even then, she truly did hope that he got his affairs sorted out. They had a... Not so great experience in detention together, but he was a nice person. Even tried to take the blame for her when they got caught by a prefect when stealing from the potions room. She glanced back and forth between Lamik and Kyle, wondering if she should leave or not. Especially since it did seem like she was interrupting something...

Kyle kept his gaze on the other boy and even though he saw the boys lips moving it’s almost as if he couldn’t be bothered to process the information that was being presented. Something in the back of his mind itched and he was determined in his course of action. He was going to hurt the Other boy...and he wasn’t sure when he was going to stop. He closed his hands into fists and took a decisive step forward but the familiar face of Marla kind of snapped his out of his tunnel vision and he shook his head. Kyle rubs his face and let out a frustrated groan.

Was he alright? Of course he wasn’t! Couldn’t they see what he saw when he looked in the mirror? Why wouldn’t they just BACK OFF!

Kyle just yells suddenly and punches the wall, he can feel his knuckles split from the impact but honestly, he couldn’t care less. ”I’m Fine. Okay? Just back off...both a ya.” he steps forward again but his attention is finally off either of them and he just wants to leave the bathroom. As he steps past Lamik he would shoulder check him to force his way past as he headed towards the exit of the bathrooms, his fists shoved into his pockets

”I’m Fine. Okay? Just back off...both a ya.”

Though this "Kyle" person definitely didn't look fine, Lamik wasn't interested in pushing his luck any farther by trying to stop him from leaving. He was already nervous enough just standing inside of the abandoned bathrooms, and didn't need someone attempting to punch him in the face because of his friendly concern adding on to that fear. "Alright... you go do whatever you need to then. I'm just going to stay here for a while if that's ok."

Turning to the redheaded girl who had just entered the room, Lamik nodded. "Yes. That is my name." The boy quickly lowered his voice and continued: "You know him? Is he always like that? Does he need help?" Even though he had asked Lamik knew the answer to at least one of those questions. Based on her reaction to Kyles appearance, he was obviously not always like that.

While Kyle looked awful at the moment, the newcomer looked pretty stable. Maybe it was because her appearances reminded him slightly of one of his close friends back at Rustington, or maybe it was because she simply looked like someone that was a lot calmer then kyle, but Lamik almost instantly felt like he could probably trust her with the situation at hand.

[quote]Kyle was most definitely, positively, absolutely NOT fine. She jumped, startled as he screamed at the top of his lungs and punched the walls. Marla looked down to his hands, his knuckles now dripping blood.
"I’m fine. Okay? Just back off...both a ya." He said, evidently angry. She furrowed her brows and gave him a dirty look. What the hell was up with this kid?
"Kyle," She said, but it was more like a demand, "What's going on?" She asked, walking up to him and grabbing his arm, preventing him from leaving. This was most definitely not a good idea. He punched a wall, for god's sake. Who's to say she wouldn't be next? And even though she cared about Kyle, he was scaring her a little right now. Her heart was beating in her throat, unable to predict what he would do next. But she couldn't let him leave. Not knowing that he was in this awful condition. She needed to help in some way. Any way.

Marla was relieved when Lamik told her that she had said his name right. Mostly because if she completely butchered it, the girl would've been quite mortified. He then leaned in and asked quietly if Kyle was okay and if he was always like that, and Marla responded by shaking her head.
"No, last time I saw him he was fine. Energetic, even. I dunno if he needs help. Probably. I'm worried though. Dunno what the hell is going on with him.." She whispered to him hastily before turning back to the now almost unrecognizable, lethargic Kyle.

"Kyle, please," she gushed, giving him a look of concern, "If you won't respond, at least go to the infirmary to get your knuckles patched up. And some sleep. Damn." She suggested, trying to hold back the instinct to run as far away as she could.

Kyle knew exactly what was wrong, he got like this every month since...that night. The first time he thought he was dying, and by the time the moon had risen he wished he had. Since then there have been 3 transformations and this would be his first one away from home. The headmaster knew, obviously, and had made an accommodation. Despite this Kyle was furious someone other than his parents knew, hated that he was being locked in some ran down shack like a dirty secret to be forgotten. And he hated the looks and concern from these two, he just needed to get outside and breath. Maybe break something. Maybe...

Then Marla grabbed his arm and stopped him, without thinking his blood burned and his adrenaline spiked and he pulled his hand from his pocket and turned and punched Marla on the left side of her face. Almost instantly he closed his eyes and pulled his other hand free and grabbed the sides of his head

”Quin! I’m sorry I...listen i just. I gotta be alone. You’re all better if you stay far away from me” he shakes his head and his hands slip down and hang, the anger isn’t on his face anymore he just looks run down. His gaze goes from Marla back to The boy...whose name if was said he honestly couldn’t recall

”I’m just...off yeah? I’ll be fine if everyone just...leaves me alone.”

As soon as this "Quin" girl was clocked square in the face Lamik did his best to make sure he could hold her up, just in case of the attack being enough to knock her off of her feet. He was about to yell at Kyle when he heard the apology, immediately shifting gears from what the hell is wrong with you to just what the hell. Lamik didn't curse, of course. The elven year old was young enough to still hold the belief that using words such as "hell" and "damn" was absolutely and utterly insane, even if they were relatively tame. He would be lying if he said that he wasn't tempted to though. It wasn't every day that you saw somebody that appeared to be some sort of bully punch somebody else then apologizes for it directly afterward. Still, the boy seemed sick- and the fact that Quin (if that was even her real name) might have just dislocated her jaw was even more of a reason to urge the two to get to the medical wing. "Calm down! Just- you need help. Let me get you help from the nurse in the medical wing. Both of you. Please."
