Valentine's Tea Errand Finished

The Small Hall looked like a pink, cotton candy-like tornado had run through it multiple times. Olphie couldn't help it, of course, for it wasn't every day that her favorite holiday came around! Not only was Valentine's Day pink personified, but it was also representative of her favorite emotion: love. Olphie herself was dressed to the nines in a red floral top and some casual kicks, so she could appear youthful amidst all the children.

Olphie was single for her first Valentine's Day at Hogwarts, though she was quite familiar with love. She had been in love several times since she had arrived at Hogwarts, though none of those had entirely panned out. Now, though, she was feeling the beginnings of love with her mysterious new Head of House, Alrick Equalknocks. He was no Barnaby or Caradoc (and if they ever returned her requests for a smooch or two, she would certainly deny any emotions for the pale man), but he made her heart warm in a way she hadn't felt since yesterday. All she wanted was for the students of Hogwarts to feel the passionate, pulsating punches of love like she had felt many times before.

So, she had advertised an event. A tea party, she called it, though, if she had it her way, it would turn into something much, much more than a simple day of tea. In order to get participants, she had boasted that all attendees who had stayed for an adequate amount of time would get house points, which, it seemed, was something the kids all wanted these days. Olphie personally didn't understand why - all she wanted at Hogwarts were kisses, not useless tallies - but she was determined to turn things around at this place! People were all concerned about fires and missing headmasters and grades - what happened to the good old days, when all you needed was love?

Olphie had arranged the Small Hall with large, plush couches surrounding a variety of tables. She had conjured a variety of tea of all flavors in a table in the back for the students to serve themselves, though she planned to converse with as many of the children as possible, in order to get her real plan in order. For now, though, they were free to roam around as they saw fit, meeting new friends and perhaps allowing a few sparks to fly...

It was going to be a good event. No wonder Valentine's Day was such a beloved holiday; who couldn't love it?

Jack glanced around, curious to see who had gathered already for the errand put out by Professor Bercegeay. He wore a pale pink dress shirt, a red and white striped tie, black slacks, and a black fedora. He also wore a pair of shades, which he constantly peered over to see because it was a bit dark for the tinted lenses indoors. However, he didn't dare remove them for fear of who might recognize him - or mistake him for someone else.

Hands in his pockets, he strolled up to the sickeningly pink-soaked tea party setting and did his best to smile without grimacing as he bowed respectfully to the teacher in charge. He didn't want any trouble; he was only here for the house points. Well, that and perhaps to see what other interesting developments might occur during the event. Happenings at a place like this were likely to be chock full of blackmail material.

Not really seeing anyone else around, Jack attempted to go hide seat himself at one of the tables farthest from Professor Bercegeay, hoping to escape her notice as long as possible. Perhaps more of the students who came would appear with others to sit with and therefore leave him on his lonesome. Okay, so maybe that was wishful thinking, but what could it have hurt? It was all he could do to stay positive in a situation like this where he risked so much going wrong.

After she had been made to visit her mother a few weeks before, Opeila was welcoming every possible distraction. Even if it was something like a Valentine's Tea in the Small Hall.
And she had to smile a little as soon as she entered the room. Personally she wasn't a great fan of all the pink decor, but it definitely was something that caught her attention. And it made her feel like an underdressed, grey- or rather green- mouse.

Opeila wasn't hoping to find a date here or something, but maybe she could make some new acquaintances. She hadn't wasted a thought on dating actually, before she had heard of Amy who seemed attracted to this other boy, who's name Opeila couldn't remember right now. Maybe they would show up here as well, who knew?
Opeila was early though. Not too many people were here yet, except a few couples here and there. Slowly she walked over to a table and sat down.
It was kind of funny and depressive at the same time to watch the others and suddenly she wished for someone who was interested in her. She never understood her giggling primary school classmate girls, who had pointed a boys, always walked around in groups and blushed, when a boy looked in their direction.
Now she at least understood it partly. She turned her gaze to the ground, not wanting to watch this anymore. Maybe it had been a bad idea to come here.
Maybe she should go upstairs to the owlery and write to Lady Margary. Or should she apologize to her father? No. It was on him to apologize, he had been the one who hit her, and she'd feel bad to ruin their Valentine's day, even though her Dad's Valentine' day was probably ruined anyway. Opeila exhaled. She was doing it again. No more pitying herself. She looked up again. Maybe she would find someone to talk to after all. Time to be a little more positive. It was Valentine's day!
When she looked at one of the couples, she actually managed to smile truly.

Teiki was on top of errands. They all seemed so exciting and interesting! She didn't know how to feel about a Valentine's tea- after all, she had managed to stay away from most of the romance- but at this point, she didn't really care. Plus, it wasn't as if she had to have a partner or something. I'm only 11 after all! Perhaps being born in June wasn't the greatest thing to be proud of, considering that it made you younger than most of your classmates, but did Teiki care? No, of course not. Her head was full of fantasies of learning magic and taking care of magical creatures to worry about age. Or love. Or most gossip.

But, since it was supposed to be a tea party, she got ready. A pale lavender dress, and she put her hairs into two buns behind her ears. No makeup- the girl had no experience with that area of beauty. Instead, she simply put on some ballet flats, and hopped out of the dorms. She didn't have to go far to find herself on the ground floor. Making her way into the small hall, she took a tiny peek inside.

And stopped.

The sheer amount of pink in the room made the girl blush. The pink dye had just faded away, and she was glad. There shouldn't need to be any more pink in this room. And yet- others were wearing pink! But- she had already signed up, so she would continue forwards. Keeping her feet light, she hesitantly walked into the room. She debated sitting down immediately, but hesitated. Perhaps- she should sit with someone else? After all, she decided that it would boring to sit alone, with no one to talk to. Unfortunately, the girl had yet to experience the world of shipping. Or perhaps, it was fortunate that she hadn't experienced it yet.

She glanced around the room, debating where she should go.

Valentine's day was simply another day for Mildred, she never understood the whole "dazzle" about it, everyone seemed to be in such a great mood around Valentine's day. she would always see her old classmates worry whether if this gift was good or if they should get chocolate or this bear, that or this. honestly, Mildred thought it was quite annoying, how others would yap all day long about valentines day and love, and how this person loves them oh-so-much, and all of a sudden they hate each other now and have broken-up.

Perhaps, her hostility towards the day had to do with well, how she had never received anything for valentine's day, of course, relationships were a big no-no for her, she would also see friends gift candy or other items of that sort, and well she had never received anything of the sort from, well anyone. Mildred had heard about the errands professors would host, and well she had also heard about the rewards that go with doing them and Mildred was interested, After hearing about Valentine's day errand Mildred was willing to participate even though, it involved valentine day.

Mildred decided that she should at least prepare herself for the event, she wanted to dress herself to carter to the event but still go unnoticed, she quickly tied her hair up, and threw on a white dress threw on some simple black flats and decided it was decent, she headed to the small hall.

Walking into the small wall was quite a surprise, she thought that Professor Bercegeay had definitely outdone her self, the whole hall looked like someone vomited pink all over it, hiding her distaste. Mildred headed straight for the refreshment table, and looked at the various assortments, and was not surprised at all. Even the tea bags were some-how pink, not knowing how that was possible Mildred sorted herself on a cup of milk tea, her favorite. While carrying her tea, Mildred looked around the very pink room, she saw a few other students, most of them have sat down and well, Mildred looked around for the farthest table from, anyone. She hoped that she could watch and mainly hide from everyone, and watch the whole thing unfold.

Logan sighed as she stood near the small hall. She had heard about a Valentine Tea and she thought that it would be a good opportunity to meet students from other houses and years. She looked down at her outfit, brushing away a few stray specks of dust off of her skirt. Logan had decided on a simple white dress with large red roses climbing up the flowing skirt, which stopped a little below her knees. She sighed as she shifted some of her wavy hair behind her ear before taking a deep breath and stepping into the small hall.

She could see very few other students were already there and took a deep breath as she stood up straight and walked to one of the many tables. She carefully chose one that had no one else there so that she wouldn't have to talk to anyone. Logan knew that the whole point of her coming to this event was to meet people, but not that she thought about it, she wasn't sure that it was a great idea. She tried to remember all of her 'training' as her father would call it for the formal events her family would attend for every holiday.

Logan sat silently as she looked at the other students and the teacher that were already there. She would remember Professor Olphie from anywhere, Logan honestly thought that she was the strangest teacher at the school, having figured that out on her way into the school on the boats. With a sigh, the pureblood scrunched her face up at the sight of how pink everything was. She had never been the greatest fan of Valentine's day, not understanding why people would give candy or flowers to someone if they happened to like them. Those gifts would be gone quickly anyways.

Logan ignored the fact and just thought that people liked it because it made them happy. If it made people happy, then she wasn't going to say anything about it.

The count of Gryffindor’s house points was abysmal, and Ruka cringed every time he walked past the hour glasses in the Great Hall, so, naturally, when he‘d heard about an event to earn house points with simply by attending, he had made sure to take a note of the date and time.

Granted, it was a Valentine‘s event, and Ruka really didn‘t feel much of a connection with the holiday; after everything he‘d been through he didn‘t really feel like he needed to worry about such a thing as romance for possibly the next ten years of his life.

Still, wanting to make a decent impression he had put on a black pair of too small shoes - he had spent an hour cleaning them from mud before actually putting them on - a white dress shirt that used to be his dad‘s and was a good two sizes too big on him, and the black trousers he usually wore to class.

He thought that his less than fancy attire was probably going to make him stick out like a sore thumb, but upon entering the small hall he realised that there were far too many other things to pay attention to than his ill-fitting outfit.

Everything, it seemed, had turned pink and Ruka wouldn‘t have been surprised to see unicorns galloping by as fairies picked cotton candy from the walls.

It was a little bit sickening.

Taking a deep breath, Ruka braced himself for stepping inside this bizarre bubble gum realm, and he forced a smile on his face as he nodded at Professor Bercegeay in greeting. Best not to make a bad impression by gagging at the colour choices of this event that was supposed to earn him house points.

Looking around the room, Ruka noticed that it was mostly full of girls, which made sense; They probably enjoyed this barbie doll fantasy a lot more than most of the boys at Hogwarts.
Deciding to stay clear of the students already present - he didn‘t think he recognised anybody on first glance - he moved himself to a lonely pink cushioned seat, dropping into it with a little umph.

For now he decided just to observe like he usually did. Maybe this thing was going to get entertaining anyway; and if not it would at least get him some house points to add to Gryffindor‘s hour glass.

He really hoped it was going to be worth it.

It was the house points that had lured Sayomi to the Small Hall for the most part. It seemed like easy points if all she had to do was to show up for a little bit. Although she was a bit curious how valentines day would look like with magic involved, even if she would't admit it. Valentines was never a big event when she went to her muggle school. The classroom was decorated with a few hearts here and there that the kids had made. Everyone wrote a generic valentines card, but no one would do more than what the teachers told them to do. Since they were all scared of what the other kids would think, especially the boys. So her plan was to drink a cup of tea, observe any magic related to the event, and hope the professor would notice that she was there. Most kids her age here hopefully wasn't too concerned about love yet. And if some were, they would probably be too shy to act upon it. So that Sayomi would't stick out as she awkwardly just sat there.

She had decided to wear a long sleeve white top with a strawberry on, tucked in a pale pink skirt. With a small brown purse over her shoulder, she headed towards the hall. Slowing down her pace as the hall drew near, curiously looking around the entirely pink room. Something Sayomi only had seen in a movie. It was a bit amusing, even if it was a little extreme.

Seeing as most people present were all scattered around, mostly alone. Sayomi decided to do the same. The tea in the back had caught her attention, so she ended up walking over there. Looking over all the flavours, she quickly found what she wanted. But since she didn't know where to go afterwards, she stood there pretending like she didn't know what to get.

Persephone, unknown to no one, considered herself a devoted Slytherin. Their recent victory had fueled not only her ego, but her desire for more to come. As a result, she often did everything she could to earn house points and the respect of her peers, including participating in rather humiliating errands.

It was this burning ache for triumph that led Persy to the small hall, where it appeared that the color pink was the only one their decorator- in this case, she assumed, Professor Bercegeay- could see. Persy did not pride herself about being ‘quirky’ or unlike other girls, but she was willing to admit that the idea of romance sickened her.

Or perhaps a more accurate word would be ‘terrified’.

Watching her parent’s relationship, one she’d idolized, deteriorate slowly had wrecked her image of relationships, both platonic and romantic. They seemed only a doorway to devastation now, and Persephone had made it clear to her heart that it was not to depend on others. Independence and the ability to thrive when alone, she knew, were core traits of a true Slytherin according to her own standards.

Once her eyes had adjusted to the harshness of the decorations, she took a moment to scan her surroundings, particularly the other students who had come to this embarrassing event. To her pleasant surprise, three other Slytherins had showed up, willing to mortify themselves for the sake of house points. She smiled, allowing her shoulders to relax as she crossed the hall, standing slightly away from the main event.

Looking at their hostess, she nodded curtly as a symbol of respect. Persephone had little experience with Professor Bercegeay but she hoped this would change soon, with her quidditch application being out. Regardless of her personal opinions of the decorations, or even the validity of the event, Persy would be polite.

She didn’t know if this facade would last the whole time.

When Serena saw the advertisement for a Valentine’s Day tea party, she knew she had to go. Not just for the house points, although that was a nice bonus. No, Serena absolutely loved the romantic holiday. The gifts of chocolates, flowers, and stuffed animals; spending time with your loved ones; the decorations of pink and red hearts…

Now don’t get her wrong; she wasn’t necessarily looking for love today. She was only eleven after all! But making new friends while sipping on some tea sounded like a lovely way to spend the afternoon to the young badger.

So, Serena threw on a pastel pink dress with long white sleeves and the detail of a cherry on the front pocket. She then struggled into a set of white tights that had a cat’s face printed on them and put on a pair of pink and white Mary-Janes with little strawberries dangling off of the big white bows on the front. After quickly wrapping a small braid in the back of her long blonde hair and tying it off with a pink ribbon, she left the Hufflepuff Common Room and made her way to the Small Hall.

Walking in, she did a double-take. From the table-cloths to the couches to the teacups, everything was pink! Serena knew that Professor Bercegeay loved the color pink, but this was a whole other level! Looking down at what she was wearing, Serena let out a small giggle. She blended right in with the decorations.

The first-year then noticed that there were only a few of her peers here along with Professor Bercegeay, of course. Serena saw that almost everyone was sitting at their own tables. Except for one girl who seemed to be perusing the tea selection.

Well, this was a tea party, after all. So, Serena made her way towards the table in the back. She glanced over the various flavors before turning to the girl who was doing the same.

“What are you thinking about getting?” She said with a small smile.
