Saoirse set down her box, it was cold outside, too cold to do anything really but not too cold do laze around and do nothing. So she took on an errand in hopes of doing something nice, she began stacking up boxes, maybe she looked insane but it didn't matter now, she had to spread the festive cheer. She managed to get the boxes high enough, swiping a line of tinsel she began her ascent towards the ceiling. The Hufflepuff just reached the chandelier, good enough for her, she began placing the tinsel atop the chandelier, avoiding all the candles she possibly could.
Hopping down she looked up at her work satisfied and began searching through the boxes to find something else. 'Festive doormats' was something interesting so she laid them down at each and every frame, with their winter cheer. Next she took out a few drawings of her own, those classic, cheesy family pictures of surrounding the tree and sledding in the snow had just caught her attention, although she did stall with a couple of the pictures and put them back in hopes of not offending somebody. Instead however, she grabbed a few strings of pretty red and white beads and began trying to wrap them around the pillars.

The first thing Gabby did when she entered the Small Hall was to dust the snow off her jacket. It was snowing outside, and while the snow created a picturesque scenery, it was also very cold, and Gabby had to wear her thick puffer to stay warm. As she dusted, Gabby realized the increase of temperature in the Hall, much warmer than what it was outside, and got rid of her jacket all together, shrugging it off before tying it around her waist.
With her jacket off, Gabby took a glance around the Small Hall. It looked as it all always did, expect for some movement that caught her eyes. As she focused, Gabby recognized Saoirse, a friendly Hufflepuff that Gabby had met up with several times. Saoirse was a close friend of Gabby's and seeing the red-head cheered her up considerably. Looking closer, Gabby saw that she was stringing red and white beads around some pillars in the Hall.
Well, Gabby thought, I'm not doing anything, and I haven't got anything planned. I should go over there, and see if she needs help.
Christmas was easily Gabby's favourite holiday, and decorating was one of her favourite parts of the season (unless 'decorating' meant putting the star on top of the Christmas tree. Because of Gabby's unfortunate shortness, she had collected many embarrassing memories doing that particular task), so she couldn't see why see shouldn't help Saoirse.
"Hey Saoirse," Gabby grinned, walking over. Do you reckon I could help? It looks like fun!"

@Saoirse Dwight @Gabriela Marquez

Rafa had been a bit taken aback, receiving an owl from Saoirse.
And the reason was quite simple. They just hadn’t been on the best of terms lately. At all, to be honest – every attempt they had made at mending their hate ship had been somehow foiled by circumstance. And really, Rafa couldn’t care less, being friends with her – the only reason he even went for all this forgiveness crap was because Prim liked Saoirse, and it was practically a crime in itself to upset that sweet girl. Still – Saoirse was working pretty hard on her end to get some headway. He just didn’t expect her to got his far.
So, yeah. Receiving an owl from Saoirse ‘Blazin’’ Dwight had really given him a right shock. He had tried to rationalize his coming to the best of his ability – she needed help on some kind of errand or other. Decorating, of all things. Which seemed easy enough – you could get paid to vandalize the school. It was the perfect excuse to come – not because he wanted to make things right with Saoirse. At least, that’s what he’d say.
He purposefully arrived at the small hall a little later than the owl had said. Immediately, he took sight of Saoirse’s bright red hair – she was wrapping these strings around the massive pillars. Next to her, he took sight of a Slytherin girl that looked freakishly like his sister. He had seen her around a few times in class, but had never learned her name. He partially felt bad – there were so many people he went to class with and never talked to.
Chewing his lip slightly, he approached the two girls a little tentatively. He wasn’t about to let Saoirse off the hook that easily. “Saoirse,” he muttered in greeting towards her, not giving her more than a second glance as he turned to the Slytherin girl. “Hey, I know you. We have Potions together, or something,” he said, a playful grin playing on his face. “I'm Rafael D'Spacito.” He stuck his hand out in greeting – he always felt subconscious about this. It was such an American thing to do, shake hands. He wasn’t sure what compelled him to do it, but he tried not to think about it too much.
After a moment, he turned to Saoirse again, his grin slipping into an unamused look. “What’s the game plan, Cap?” he mused sarcastically. “Don’t tell me I came down here for nothing.”

Her lips curved into a smile as Gabs approached, shortly following after was Rafael. It was hard to believe she had asked him to come but she really had nobody else to do so, that was until Gabby came. She would have been perfectly content with just her but of course the tall boy had entered the area. "Yeah, Gabs. I'd love your help!" She held up a trail of lights, before finally facing Rafael.

He paused for a moment,"What's the game plan, Cap?"
"No, no, you didn't." Saoirse picked up a tiny box with an assortment of baubles in it. "I want to hang these up on the ceiling, and your the tallest one here, so you either stand on a box, or one of stands on you." She shot him a glance and a sly smile, "oh! Gabby, I'm sorry, you can hang those lights above the fireplace or the doorframe." The redhead darted her attention towards the blazing flames, "just be careful with the fireplace, I don't need either of you getting injured during this errand." She turned her attention back towards the Gryffindor boy, "so what's it gonna be?""don't tell me I came down here for nothing."

Before Saoirse replied, someone else approached. It was a boy, a Gryffindor, Gabby could tell by the collar on his robe. Taking a closer look at him, Gabby could see brown hair and eyes, a tall frame, and skin the same tone as her own.
"Potions?" Gabby said questionably, "Maybe. I reckon I've seen you before, but I don't know your name sorry - what is it?"
"And of course I'll hang up the lights, that sounds like a good idea," Gabby said when she turned back to Saoirse.
Then, turning back around, she spotted a box on the floor, the flap lids open to display the contents inside. They looked like normal lights, with the normal cylinder shaped lights, and thick, dark green wire made out of plastic that connected all the separate lights together. But the lights were different. Unlike muggle lights, that needed a plug to light up, they lit up by themselves. And to add to the spectacular-ism of it all, they changed colours, from blue to red to green to yellow, shining and glowing, lighting up the box.
Carefully, Gabby took out the contents of the box, untangled them, and strung them onto the fireplace, using hooks that were already there. Once secure, they lit up the area in front of them, and Gabby felt a sense of pride looking at her handiwork.
"What else should I do?"

"Maybe. I reckon I've seen you before. But, I don't know your name, sorry - what is it?"
That's what the girl in front of him had told him, rather inquiringly. She seemed to have not known who he was, which generally made sense. It wasn’t like they had ever really crossed paths before this time. He didn’t even know her name, for crying out loud. The thought made him feel a bit guilty. You’re being a ruddy classmate, his conscience told him. And he knew it, too. He looked at the other girl, his smile wavering for a moment. He put it back up quickly, though – he was at least making an honest effort. No one could blame him for that.
"Rafael," he told her brightly, in answer to her question. He held out his hand to shake – it was a rather American gesture, but it had always felt right. "Most people call me 'Bird, though. Nice to meet you…?" He trailed off a bit at the end, an indication that he still didn’t know her name.
It was around that time that he noticed Saoirse's talking to him. He sighed irritably, turning to face her. "I want to hang these up on the ceiling," she told him rather slyly. "And you're the tallest one here. So, you either stand on a box, or one of us stands on you."
Rafael didn’t like the sound of that too much – the idea of a girl climbing on his shoulders gave him a rather sick feeling. He looked at Saoirse with a rather withering look, his arms crossed in protest. “You know what? I think I can handle it.” He nudged a box to the side of the hall with his foot, grabbing a box of baubles straight from her arms. “Now, watch the pro at work.” He began to string up the ornaments in a bit of a messy fashion. Hey, he was supposed to decorate, right? She never said it had to be neat.
