Chocolate Frog on the Loose!
♫
♫FINISHED. Participants: Arc P., Lallie L. and Oliver H.
Alan just entered the castle, coming from the Grounds. He carried his notes and the school books in his arms, having to carefully peek over the edge to see where he was going. Suddenly he saw a jumping something that smacked against his leg, before continuing its journey right through his feet and out of the still ajar door. Alan just caught a glimpse of it, after jumping in shock, dropping some of his papers.
It had been a chocolate frog, running for freedom, even though it would probably melt into a puddle of chocolate goo soon, since it already left a smudge of molten chocolate against his pants, or so the Gryffindor would notice if he were to look down. However Alan just knelt to gather his papers again. It was his homework for Defense against Dark Arts, a small essay on Trolls. Alan placed the paper carefully on top each other, but there was still some stuff scattered around on the floor right around him.
Still Alan wondered who had dropped the chocolate frogs, but it was not a rare thing to happen, these frogs were wild and would jump away as soon as someone opens the wrapping.

Chocolate Frog on the Loose!
Lallie was walking around the halls of Hogwarts, coming back from a long day of classes. She had snuck out to Hogsmeade the other day and gotten a couple of chocolate frogs to indulge on throughout the week. She took one out of her robe pockets feeling she deserved it.
She peeled the wrapper clean off the frog, stuffing it into her pocket while making a mental note to throw it away. Lallie would probably forget though, her pockets are full of an assortment of forgotten wrappers and papers after all.
She looked at the frog before she ate it. She knew it wasn't really alive, but she always thought it was cute the way it would ribbit and hop around if you didn't eat it. It was hot out today though so Lallie decided against letting it hop around. The frog looked at Lallie with its chocolate eyes, or at least Lallie thought it did, before ribbiting.
She was about to indulge in the sweet taste of chocolate when the frog suddenly jumped out of her hands. 'Shoot!' Lallie thought running after the frog. At first, she could keep the frog in view, but that little guy was fast, turning a corner and getting out of Lallie's sight. The frog was starting to leave a chocolate spot where it was hopping so Lallie could still track it.
Lallie was about to hone in on the frog when she saw it jump on a boy walking into the school's leg. He jumped in shock and dropped his papers. 'Well, this day is going great so far.' Lallie thought running up to the boy.
"I'm so, so sorry!" Lallie exclaimed when she reached the boy. Wanting to help the boy, she was the reason he dropped the papers in the first place after all, she picked up the papers that the boy hadn't already picked up. Shuffling them into a neat pile she awkwardly handed the boy his papers when he got up, blushing in embarrassment.

The small hall was dimly lit as usual. It was probably bad for the eyes to read in this kind of lighting, but the place was just so peaceful at this time of the day. It was certainly too peaceful for Arc to resist reading the last book of his favorite novel series. Yes. Unbelievable as it might be, the dark-haired boy was not reading a school book. He was reading a novel about a young wizard that was caught in a time loop while sipping cold cocoa. Arc was the one sipping the cold cocoa, not the young wizard in the book. That would just be silly.
As he was peacefully reading, a little commotion would suddenly unfold in front of his very eyes. A girl with a long ginger hair walked past him while unwrapping a chocolate frog. She didn’t immediately eat it, though. And the frog managed to escape her grasp. It hopped away quickly from her, leaving a delicious trail everywhere. Before its gooey death, though, the frog did one last act of rebellion by shocking a boy that was carrying a bunch of important-looking papers. He dropped his papers and it was now strewn around on the floor. Oh, noes!
The girl was sorry and she immediately helped the boy picked up his fallen papers. But apparently a couple of the papers flew further than the others and it stopped pretty close to the young Ravenclaw. Well, well, well... He downed his cocoa in one gulp and closed his book before picking the two papers. Arc glanced at the content and he realized that these were a part of some kind of a homework. That would make these things extra important then! It was one the boy's nightmare to hand over a homework only for it to miss some papers!
Arc quickly walked toward the boy and the girl. “Ooy! You guys missed two of the papers here,” he said while waving the paper in his right hand.

Alan was picking up the paper, putting them together and looking at them. It did not seem to be complete, he wrote like ten pages for this. Or well most of it were notes that he needed to do for the homework and the essay and actual homework was only four pages. But it was still important for him to have everything to check his sources and to be able to actually review what he had written down. So Alan was frantically looking around for the remaining two pieces of paper.
”It's all good, I just need to find the remaining two papers before someone stomps on it... I cannot submit a homework with a muddy footprint on it, now can I?”, he said, with a nervous laugh. The worst case was still that he had to rewrite everything because he could not find the papers. After all worst than some ripped or dirty paper was one that was not even there. He was pretty sure he could explain why a paper was crumpled at the edges, but how could he ever explain a missing homework to Pendrast? He needed to maintain his Outstanding average, because he wanted it. Wanted it for himself, to know that he was able to achieve such things on his own, even if he was clumsy and messy.
Right when he was about to give up, he heard another voice, not far from him. When he looked up he could see an unknown Ravenclaw, however he was wearing a Prefect Badge. Relief flooded his eyes tinting the green eyes blue in an instant, when he saw that the boy was holding the missing two papers. He got up from the ground quickly, brushing one of his hands against his pants to get rid off the bit of dust clinging to his hands, before he walked over to the boy that was already walking towards him and the girl.
”Thank you so much, I would have hated it to re-write it just because something was missing!”, the second year exclaimed and he meant it. It took him hours to actually gather the needed information and then furthermore to put it onto paper.

Lallie started panicking internally. There were still a couple of papers missing. If this boy loses his papers then it will be all her fault. It was cleary his homework or notes for a test or something like that. That meant that he could potentially fail to hand in this assignment.
What if he gets a troll on the assignment? What if the troll makes him fail the semester? What if that troll causes him to get held back a grade or even worse get kicked out of Hogwarts? Lallie became more frantic as she looked for the missing papers.
"God I'm so sorry. I'm such an idiot, why couldn't I just wait until I got back to my dorm?" Lallie said to the boy while berating herself out loud. She knew she was being redundant but she couldn't help it. She felt so bad for dropping the boy's papers.
Lallie's heart took a leap of joy when she saw a boy with a perfect badge on coming up to the two of them holding a couple of papers. He found the last remaining papers that the boy next to her needed. Thank god he did otherwise Lallie probably would've spiraled into insanity thinking about all the ways she ruined the boy's life.
"I'm so sorry I made you drop your papers. I would've hated if you had to rewrite them. Is there any way I can pay you back for almost having you waste your time writing another paper?" Lallie said nervously. She knew it was kind of stupid to ask that but she didn't want to just be like, 'Hey I know you dropped your papers because of me but I'm just going to help you out and then leave without another word.'

Chocolate Frog on the Loose!
There was a flash before a thud as a young boy ran past the ground and throw his body at the frog. Right before the frog would fully melt, he managed to catch the entire thing in his mouth, not even needing his hands. He slid along his stomach as he moaned from the delicious chocolate. "de-LICIOUS!" he yelled to himself. He looked over his shoulder at the group and came back to his senses immediately, standing up and brushing off his legs rapidly.
Oliver's cheeks turned a rose red and his eyes darted between each one of the students that had clumped together, recognizing only the second year.
"Uh, sorry... if that frog belonged to any of you..." he apologized. Oliver then realized in his urgency to eat the frog, he had let go of the two school books he was carrying. He hurried over to his belongings and picked them up, wiping his mouth with his hand. He looked down, the back of his hand was now smeared in a thick layer of chocolate. Oliver grew redder and without thinking, wiped his hand on his school book. A streak of chocolate could be clearly seen along the cover now.
Oliver loudly gulped.

And Arc could not agree more. He would have hated it either. “Ah, yes, you are very much welcome. It is a terrible and scary thing to lose one’s homework paper. I wouldn’t wish it to my worst enemy.” Not that the boy had any, but he still meant it.”Thank you so much, I would have hated it to re-write it just because something was missing!”
He looked between the ginger-haired girl and the older boy before introducing himself. It was only polite, after all. “I’m Arc, by the way, Arc Perscivious. It is nice to make your acquaintance.” He put his right hand on his heart and slightly bowed his head. He made a little smile as he finished his silly greeting.
A sound was suddenly heard. Another boy was on the floor…on his stomach. Wait. Did he just…eat the melting chocolate frog? He immediately stood up and apologized. With melted chocolate still covering his mouth, he picked up books he apparently had dropped. He wiped the chocolate on his mouth and smeared it on his books. Um. That was no way to treat books! But it wouldn’t do well for him to berate someone for something so minor. Well, it was a pretty grave offense, but Arc had come to realize many people didn’t share the same sentiment. To be fair, he also had mistreated books twice in his life. So, he was not one to judge others. Then again, the first time he did it was an accident and the second one was only to protect himself and the book could repair itself!"de-LICIOUS!"
But he chose to be a better person and gave the benefit of the doubt. The young Ravenclaw took a handkerchief from his back pocket and offered it to the bigger boy. “Here, you can use this to wipe the chocolate.” On the book. But Arc kept that to himself. He could use it to wipe his face as well if he wanted to. No big deal. But the kid sincerely hoped he used it to clean the book. “You can give it back once you wash it. No rush, I have some spare.”

Alan nodded in agreement. ”Especially because none of the professors would believe you, if you tell them that you lost the homework. Instant T for that one”, he shook his head, carefully putting the papers back together in the right order, when he heard the boy speak up again. The boy introduced himself by his name, doing a courteous bow, which surprised Alan for a moment. He replicated the movement carefully as to not be impolite – he had been raised well and his mother would have not forgiven him, if he had not shown decency.
”I'm Alan, Alan Vanes- the pleasure is all mine”, his cheeks tinted a bit red at the amount of formality, as his mind raced with thoughts like 'Do not trip now'. But Alan straightened his back again with a insecure smile playing on his lips, before the situation was interrupted once again.
A boy that fell to the ground on purpose to get to the melting chocolate frog, grabbing it and messily shoving it into his mouth. Alan's eyes widened in surprise as he stared at the boy as if he just called the moon sunny. Why would he eat that from the ground? He shook his head slightly, a dumbfounded expression on his face. But it seemed like Arc was mastering the situation, while the only thing Alan could hope for, was that he would not change colors. Only a lightly he changed however, his chestnut colored hair adapting a purple hue..
He looked at the girl and shook his head. ”No no, don't worry, I don't need your money!”, he quickly said, hoping she would just calm down.

"I'm Lallie Luna. It's nice to meet the both of you even though it may not be the best way to meet." Lallie said finishing up the three's introductions. Per usual she felt much better about the situation knowing the two boy's names.
She forgot about catching the chocolate frog because by the time it bumped into Alan it was practically melted into a puddle. Suddenly though she saw a boy fall to the ground, gulp the chocolate frog up, exclaiming happily. 'Well that's one way to catch a frog' Lallie thought.
"It's fine I was planning on the frog melting and then just clean up the chocolate mess it left behind." Lallie said to the boy. She was surprised to see the boy use his books of all things to wipe the chocolate on his hand up. Hopefully, they weren't library books but if he owned the books than he just ruined something he spent money on.
Lallie could tell that Arc defiantly deserved to be a Perfect so far he seemed to take every situation and solve it with grace.
Lallie smiled with relief that Alan didn't seem to care that she almost gave him a T on his assignment. She noticed that Alan's hair was now slightly tinted purple. 'Huh is he a Metamorphmagi?' Lallie thought. She wasn't going to ask him about it, she knew most people were embarrassed about these kinds of things.

With so many eyes on Oliver, he was getting pretty anxious. He even noticed eyes lower to the book he secretly wiped his chocolately hands on. Did they see?...
"Uh, thank you, I think I saw you in the Ravenclaw house, I'll surely see you again soon," Oliver nodded, thanking him. He took the handkerchief and instinctively wiped his forehead with it, not even thinking. The amount of sweat it had just absorbed had put it to it's limit sponge ability already.
Oliver looked at his book with the chocolate streak and didn't see as much of an issue as the others did. In fact, he handed up homework with chocolate finger prints and circle patches of chocolate drool all the time. He was commented on it by professors but nothing he ever thought was serious.
He looked at the others and nodded, always struggling in groups, 1 on 1 conversation was already a big task for him to handle. Oliver gave a weak smile, his face still blushed red. He turned his rotund body back on its merry way towards the library and begun walking.
"Thanks again," he smiled to Arc, appreciating the offer. It was definitely nicer than any other kids treated him on a regular business. Oliver presumed this was why the kid managed to become prefect. The first year was an aspiration to Oliver on how easy it was to make a kind gesture to others.
As Oliver made his exit, he thought he spotted another chocolate frog and he grew a huge smile. The boy took off on a slow jog, his version of a sprint, down the corridors.
