Never Eat Alone
Reducio
IMPROMPTU PV ERIS FAWLEY BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE WE REALLY NEED THIS. I'm sorry, I hope you don't mind. Set the day before The Lion's Vengeance.
If one wished to venture into Hogwarts, perhaps to see Professor Blackburn or Professor Winslow, one would first have to pass through the Small Hall. And, if one decided to take a look around the curious little room before moving on, one would notice that the atmosphere within the Small Hall was generally hush-hush; certainly not as loud as the Great Hall. It was for that precise reason that Ami generally chose to dine and study here, rather than the vociferous Great Hall, or the chatty Common Room.
The auburn-headed girl sat curled up in the corner of the Small Hall, sipping tea and eating an apple. She was oblivious to those around her, immersed in the grand world of overdue homework. Still jittery from beating up Dorian (yes, she allowed herself to think she was a bully), any time footsteps came near her, she involuntarily, subconsciously shrank back into the corner, praying it wasn't someone who wanted revenge for Dorian's broken knee. Every time, the sound of footsteps would fade away, and Ami would relax slightly; the entire time, her eyes would never leave the pages of her notes.
Notes, yes. Everyday, ordinary classroom notes got her into this predicament, and Ami sorely regretted even asking for her missing notes back. She could've just asked someone else to borrow theirs- why'd she have to go searching for trouble? Biting the end of her pencil, Ami fixed something in the essay she was writing, when she shied back into the corner again- more footsteps. This time, they didn't fade away, and a shadow was cast over her work. Before Ami could look up, the person was gone.
Scrambling to her feet, Ami eyed the other occupants of the room, most of which she didn't know- three Ravenclaws, all white-blonde, huddled in the corner, quietly arguing about something; a cluster of dark-haired and dark-skinned students of all four houses engrossed in a game of Exploding Snap; a lone red-headed Gryffindor in a separate corner; a brunet Slytherin keeping to himself in another corner. No seemed to have noticed anyone come in or out, no one seemed to have noticed anything strange. She hadn't heard a door open, hadn't heard a door close. Who had it been? Shaking her head, she turned back to her notes and continued her quest for completed homework.
Or, at least, she attempted to, but to no avail. Her thoughts kept drifting back to Dorian Gray. Did she hate him? No. No, she didn't. She was certainly annoyed by him, yes, but she didn't hate him. In fact, Ami felt rather terrible for what she'd done. She'd have to apologize, of course... but it was best to give him some room, first, some space to clear his head. She'd skip Flying tomorrow armed with the excuse of a get-well basket. Yes, that would work, wouldn't it? And what would she put in the basket?
When Dorian had attempted to negotiate with her, Ami'd noticed just exactly how smart he was; an impressive vocabulary attained through wealthy breeding (most like by tutor, although private school was an acceptable option), the use of Latin in everyday conversation, knowing exactly how to twist words to get what he wanted. Yes, he certainly was a smart child.
Biting the end of her pencil, Ami twisted her thoughts away from Dorian and back to those of schooling- she couldn't exactly afford another bad grade, at this point. Leaning into the wall, she listened to the crackling of the fireplace, reluctantly putting pencil to paper once again.

Never Eat Alone
The Small Hall, cozy, warm, quiet, and the home of mutilated worm body stains that never really left the floor. The splotchy brownish red spots on the floor were a mystery to most, but Kaegen Deathmote and Eris Fawley knew better. The demon Italian food from hell had bled their disgusting saucy blood into the floor, to remain there evermore after a night spent sobbing onto the stone floors. No amount of spells could clean out the stain, and even so, it was a welcome sight to the young Fawley. A reminder of life before the Eri incident, when Kaegen owned a manner of magic creatures inside of his school robes. Before all the life had been sucked out of them by a 'mispronounced spell' and the world had turned on it's axis, leaving Eris, Kaegen, Adam, and their other friends alone in, what felt like, different universes.
The small hall was no longer a place of solace for a young girl mourning the semblance of friendship she had acquired over her long months at Hogwarts. Those relationships had mended themselves, as children's relationships often do. But Eris didn't credit Adam and her's friendship growing close again to childlike whims and the inability to hold a grudge. They had suffered apart, and were best friends. They were better hanging out together, watching movies and balancing each other's natures out. But, Adam was not in the Small Hall with Eris at the moment, and there was nobody to balance out her murderous rage.
Thus, the small hall was now a place to hide before the storm that Eris was going to unleash on the hufflepuff population of the castle. One of the hufflepuffs had attacked Dorian Gray, one of Eris's friends. A true injustice, and one that Eris simply couldn't stand. Nobody in their right mind would dare punch one of Eris's own, and the discernible worry that would flash through any sane person's head was Dorian's friends. Lord have mercy on the poor soul who Max Avery and Eris Fawley decided to target for fun. Someone they attacked in vengeance? If they were smart, they'd be running for the hills.
Truthfully, violence was not the small girl's strong suit. Being about the size of an overgrown garden gnome, Eris had no force behind her punches. Yet, even so, she had managed to knock a much larger girl out with a well placed punch to the face. And then make another hufflepuff sick by hitting her in the stomach. So, either the students of Hogwarts were extremely weak, or Eris was stronger than she thought. Either way, Eris didn't care. All that mattered was that somebody had hurt Dorian.
She had about a day before the boy was allowed visitors in his hospital wing, so Eris had a whole day to plan her attack on the girl who had hurt him. Settling down in the small hall, quill and parchment in hand, the little red head looked around. Eyes glassy, she hardly noticed some of the other students around, before looking down at the paper in her hands. The room revolved around the piece of paper and the rage building up inside of her, and the urge to write it out, to let the anger out of her system.
She could hardly think, rage curling in the pit of her stomach. Without another glance upwards, Eris pressed her quill to the parchment and watched a black blot of ink spread over the paper. The sight was peaceful in a sense, and Eris felt herself relax slightly, watching the black dot grow and grow.
What was she going to write?

Nope- nope, nope, nope-ity nope nope. Grunting in frustration, Ami threw her pencil down on the ground, dropped her notebook in despair. Seriously, homework at this point was impossible- there was the matter of Dorian Gray and the Broken Knee, as well as the Mysterious Receding Footsteps that were at the forefront of her mind, blinding her from anything else. Ugh... but tackling the Mysterious Receding Footsteps required investigation and movement, while on the other hand, she could just hang tight and ponder more about Dorian Gray and the Broken Knee. The case of the Broken Knee it was, then.
If she were to visit him with an apology in the Hospital Wing, it would be horrid of her not to come bearing a get-well basket. After all, if it were her in his place, she'd want a basketful of sweets and things to do whilst cooped up in a hospital. Ami decided that yes, she could skip down to Hogsmeade and pilfer some sweets for Dorian, and, well... with a heavy sigh, she decided that yes, she could part with a few of her books for a few days. She had far too many of them, anyways. Maybe she could get some spring cleaning in, with her shelves slightly emptier. And if he didn't enjoy reading them, she'd probably just go ahead and break every vertebra in his back; no knowledge like his was gained without at least a little bit of reading.
Of course, the inclusion of class notes was non-negotiable. After all, she'd been negotiating for her own that fateful night in the Small Hall, it just wouldn't be justice if he didn't get his homework done from the classes he was missing because of her. It wouldn't be too much trouble to copy her notes down and add them to her list of "to bring" things.
A list! Ami picked up her notebook once again, and flipping to a new page, jotted down some notes on things she was going to bring. Let's see, books... yes, I can probably part with those... should probably visit the library for some wizarding ones, he seems to be a pure-blood... class notes... chocolate... Running out of steam, she looked up from her frantic scribbling, glancing around the room, before returning back to her brainstorming.

Never Eat Alone
Words came to her mind, than to paper, as Eris wrote another entry to her letters to her father, quill scratching the paper with religious intensity, head bent over the paper, hair spilling over her shoulders, as she wrote. Of course, she knew that there was no chance that her father was receiving the letters, the girl had developed a habit of writing to her father, partly because of the normality she felt while writing, and partly due to the sense of release she got out of writing about her emotions, due to the lack of friends to confide in at all hours of the day. There was simply too much going on, and not enough time to talk about what was going on, with classes. homework, and meals coming before socialization and comfort.
Another thing that came before socialization was writing to her father, a task which Eris attempted to do at least once a month. Although her father never replied to her owls, at least she knew where to send them now, after the events of the Daily Prophet article about her father and mother.
Another thing that came before socialization was writing to her father, a task which Eris attempted to do at least once a month. Although her father never replied to her owls, at least she knew where to send them now, after the events of the Daily Prophet article about her father and mother.
Setting her quill down, the girl didn't bother reading her words, before looking up. The small hall was still almost empty, and her letter was ready for mailing. Should she attempt to talk to the various students loitering around, or go and send the owl on it's merry path to the Fawley manor? Wrinkling her nose, Eris debated the merits of each choice, still scanning the room.
Father,
It's Eris again. I understand you have life to attend to, having been welcomed back into Fawley Manor with promises of memory regaining potions and stuff. I have no idea how that works, but by the time you get this, I figure you'll know that I'm at Hogwarts! Man, it was so hard acting like I was at a normal school. I'm not going to bore you with the detials of my magical life, though.
I'm writing to you in regards to an incident that I'm sure you'll enjoy. As you might know from my prior letters, I have punched quite a few people. By that, I mean exactly two. It's impressive still, considering I have the strength of a kitten. I made a girl cry once. That was fun, in an odd way. Not that I'm into making children cry or anything. I swear I'm normal. Eri Windstone is the strange one, if we want to get into that in my next letter.
Sadly, that's not the event I'm writing to you about. Yesterday a hufflepuff, named Ami Poptropics or something like that, attacked my friend. I don't understand the reasoning behind it, and it bothers me to no avail. I'm hoping to find out why the event occured, but my friend is currently in the Hopsital Wing and his girlfriend, Aubren my other friends are nowhere to be seen. I hope to visit the boy soon, and extract revenge on the Ami girl. I will keep you updated as the situation plays out. I pray to extract a befitting punishment on the girl, along with the help of those she has wronged. Meaning my friend, and his other friends.
I must say, I miss you dearly. I hope to receive an owl back from you one day, but I understand you're busy with recovery. I find it unabashedly crazy that you are a pureblood wizard of great renown, who went missing. I find it even more crazy the advice you've imparted upon me that has lead me to plan my attack on this hufflepuff girl. I hope for the best, and that I won't get detention with the fearful head of Sytherin house. Again. Not that it matters. That's a story for another time, if I'm being honest.
From,
your daughter

As Ami looked up from her list, she noticed another redhead (the Gryffindor girl she'd noticed earlier) look up at nearly the same time. She gulped under the Gryffindor's fierce glare, and hurriedly returned back to her list-writing. How can someone so small look so scary...?! she thought to herself, shuddering at the girl's fierce expression. Really, it was almost like she was a guard-dog... a pit bull puppy, yes; a red pit bull puppy, minus all the drool. No, she didn't look like one who'd drool...
Of course, her nostalgic self always managed to flash-back at the least convenient moments. Without warning, she was transported back to 3rd grade, when she'd been 8- the year before she moved back to London.
"Remember when you used to be pretty?" Thomas had always teased her. "When everyone liked you?"
"No one liked me," she'd always respond, giggling. "But everyone likes you. Why do you still play hang out with me?"
"Because you're awesome, Ami. You're like a freaking pit bull- remember when that Mac kid tried to beat me up? You were all like-" Here, Thomas leaped to his feet, and made some incredibly stereotypical karate-chop move. "You shall not pass!" he had bellowed in a deep, Gandalf-ish voice.
Ami had cracked up like an idiot, because her? The thin, ghostly child who never ate enough, never slept enough? A pit bull? And for that matter, how could someone her age look like a pit bull?
Well, she had her answer now, and she still had pressing issues to return to. A get-well basket, overdue homework, letters to write, an article to edit... Ami sighed, tugging at her hair. Really, Muggle school was so much easier.

Eris watched the ink dry on her letter with a pang of sadness, imaging her father reading the letter. Would he even know it was her? Would he be proud of her? Her father had always talked about punching bullies, and being like a superhero. He would of been proud of her for standing up for her friend, right? Truthfully, Eris had no idea. Her memories of her father were resigned to flashbacks of happier days spent running around the flat playing toys or watching movies, but those memories dulled in comparison to recent ones of her screaming father running out into the snow, slamming the door behind him with a loud thud, and never coming back. Only to be found months later by an illusive newspaper, with claims of a new last name and a whole different life--away from Eris.
But these were not memories to dwell on. Snapped out of her thoughts, Eris looked around the room with a disapproving stare at the hufflepuff girl. She couldn't of been the one who hit Dorian, but still. A hufflepuff. There was hardly any reason to like or support a hufflepuff at this point, unless they were Serena Towers or someone else that Eris liked.
Done writing her letter, Eris hopped to her feet and looked around the room once. Still not seeing anybody she knew, the red head walked out of the small hall without a backwards glance. Her father wasn't going to receive the letter with an open heart, and it was entirely likely that he was never going to read it, but at least she had wrote it. The words had cleared her thoughts for the moment.
The whole situation was too new for Eris, and her violent nature was only getting worse. Hopefully her father would have something to say on the matter, although deep down, Eris knew he wouldn't say anything. Did he even want her? Of course, it was hard to judge if she was wanted or not, when the person in question was currently half brain dead, trying to regain their memories. It was highly unlikely her father was suddenly going to regain all his memories and bolt out of bed to write a letter to his daughter that he hadn't seen in years.
But after writing, Eris knew what she was going to do. She was going to make Ami Poprocks pay for hurting her friend, and Dorian was going to help. They were going to plan revenge, and it was going to be amazing. Nobody messed with a Gryffindor first year and lived to tell the tale.
