One on one roleplay with Wyatt Starkey
This seemed to always be the case. Alec freaking out about one thing or another in his life, again. This time was a bit more of a special case considering not only was he overthinking about whether he passed his potions exam but he was also overthinking about overthinking about overthinking about it. And truth be told, it would be funny to Alec if the whole predicament itself wasn't so dreadful. What's even worse was the fact he was just told only a few hours ago that he tended to overthink too much and that was coming from someone who tended to overthink things quite a lot as well. Ah.. 'great' isn't it?There was also that one beater that Clifton Troublefield was messing with the other day. Bet he'd come for Alec next. Poor Clifton had his whole jaw swollen, even if it was his fault to begin with. What made that matter worse is that Alec just stood there like a fool. He watched the poor boy get punched. And he just stood there.."Overthinking again.." Alec muttered to himself. Glad he caught himself too or would end up going on a rant to himself and risk someone hear him agai- Nevermind catching himself didn't work. "And what about that one hufflepuff girl? S-She threatened you. And you almost got on her bad side. N-not a great idea she made it VERY clear to never get on her bad side yet and yet you do it? Did you stop to think about it?" Alec asked himself, pausing for a moment."T-this is complete stupidity at it's worse now! Are you seriously asking yourself questions l-like that? Of course you did, you overthink. Couldn't leave one matter without overthinking it now c-could ya?" He asked himself. "Oh wow.. I need to get a hold of myself if I'm going to rant my problems I should be a little quieter.." Alec said his voice more of a whisper now.@Wyatt StarkeySide note: This is Alec at his worst he is a bit of a worrier and an over thinker but this is about his max limit to where he goes for worrying, thankfully.

Lesson Never Learned
Walking through the halls, it was terribly quiet. Wyatt loved it, don’t get it twisted, but something was definitely off. He stopped in his tracks and spun around, trying to see if anyone was behind him, no-one. Then he looked over his shoulder. Nothing. He stomped, and there was nothing. No small, first year voice saying “hello,” like idiots do in horror movies when they hear something. Nothing. He smiled… this was his dream.
The dark-haired Slytherin turned back around to keep walking, and something caught his eye. Technically, nothing caught his eye, as the picture frames were all empty. With the exception of-
“HHGGGCHH”
Wyatt jumped, and spun around. Snoring Stasia. Was she ever conscious?
“Stasia!” He poked the frame, though he didn’t think it would do much.
He was about the shake the portrait when she woke up.
“What do you want, boy,” she asked groggily.
“Where has everyone gone?”
“They said there was a Gryffindor talking to himself and went down the corridor… we don’t get much entertainment here.”
Wyatt couldn’t hold back a sly grin. He was dreaming, and this was the best dream he could possibly wish for. He thanked Stasia, who fell back into a deep sleep so fast it seemed like she was competing, and continued down the hall. When he heard a voice, he picked up his pace until he could hear it clearly. He smiled. What a fantastic dream, he thought, though he knew it was real.
He began to chuckle lightly, and looked around at the picture frames, which only made him laugh louder. As the boy quieted down, the herd of picture people, clumped together, followed him around. They were pacing together. He turned the corner to meet the boy, and was glad to see that it was actually a Gryffindor, not just a random house Snoring Stasia thought up or something.
“Wow… how do you even get on a Hufflepuff’s bad side?” He chuckled menacingly at the end of that. All his laughs sounded menacing, sometimes he hated it but now was a very good time. "Well, I suppose a Gryffindor can find a way to get on anyone's bad side, really."

@Wyatt StarkeyAlec turned around. At first Alec struggled to find words mostly this being that he thought after the third time this had happened people would know to just go away when he was ranting. But clearly that was not the case."I-Well..um.." He said. Come on just think of something! You've been put on the spot before just think of some random remark please so you don't look like a fool. Alec would bring up He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named as a pathetic remark but truth be told it would be way more then pathetic on Alec's part considering everything.Come on think of something.. "Thanks for noticing. Any other life-changing revelations you'd like to reveal to me?" Alec said the words slipping out of his mouth. Well it wasn't exactly the best.. But it sure was something. And actually it was quite easy to get on a hufflepuffs bad side. All you had to do was accidentally upset one of their friends. Mistakes were made. Wait this was besides the point what gave the boy the right to just walk up to Alec like that and say something like that. Although Alec had to admit the remark was very very petty. What's even more odd was he was friends with a lot of slytherins and then there's this random one who just walks up to him being.. Well petty? Besides that there had to be much more better remarks then that it was just stupid..

“Well I would, but it seems you’ve been revealing your own big life changes,” he drawled. “To the portraits that is,” he added quickly, smirking as he gestured to the clumps of portrait people watching the conversation. As they were mentioned, they tried to pretend they were minding their own business, hastily trying to pose or do anything else, but in their haste, they began tripping on each other. If Wyatt wasn’t in a serious comeback battle right now, he’d be laughing. But when he thought about the Gryffindor’s comeback, he thought he let himself laugh. It wasn’t as high stakes as a Slytherin v Slytherin battle would be, or a Slytherin v Ravenclaw for that matter.
“You’re not very good at comebacks, are you, Lion?” He removed his smirk, leaving his face unreadable and expressionless, it’s famous resting state.
"Wyatt Starkey, a pleasure to… catch you.” He didn’t bother trying to shake the Lion’s hand. The proud boy would either deny to shake his hand or shake it, surprising Wyatt and leaving him speechless and confused. Not wanting to sabotage himself, he clasped his hands behind his back, signaling what he hoped the Gryffindor had already picked up, that this wasn’t a very pleasurable first meeting.
“Do you often talk to yourself or is this your… test run of being a mess.” He felt, deep inside his heart, that he was being a little too harsh, but at least he wasn’t beating up the other boy as many older Gryffindors liked to do with Wyatt. Maybe the only reason why he wasn’t starting a fistfight with the other boy was that he was a little shorter, and it wouldn’t be a fair fight… there were no professors around, he could easily get revenge, but he used words instead. Now Wyatt was the one overthinking. He shut it down and waited for the wavy-haired boy’s response.

"Do you often like to stick your nose into other people's business when it's clear they'd like to be left alone? Or is it just a one time thing with them?" Alec said pointing to the portrait people. "It makes you no better then them wouldn't be surprised if you end up being just as nosy as them one day" Alec said with a small eye roll. He wasn't exactly fond of anybody in the portraits in the small hall. Alec seemed to have the biggest amount of problems and they always seemed to think their suggestions were so 'great'Arrogant bunch of portrait people even Elizabeth or as people like to call her 'The fat lady' wasn't as arrogant as these portrait people. But then again she had no reason to be and she was just plain boring. "Gits don't get very far in life you do realize that right?" Alec asked his tone had changed to those of a mother talking to a baby. Alec would have to dumb it down for this boy to understand at least. To be fair Alec believed the boy was smart. But was just looking for something to use to mock him. There wasn't much.. That and Alec wasn't really a great public speaker.. He didn't really have and friends or even slight enemies till Hogwarts. I mean there was that one guy at the petrol station before Hogwarts. But he was just someone who worked there and was only being nice to Alec because Alec bought stuff.Back to the task at hand. If this boy was going to go around being rude to Alec for no apparent reason Alec was going to 'bring the fire' metaphorically of course Alec wasn't stupid enough to actually do that. Even if the idea did peak Alec's interest.

Wyatt's face fell to a tight frown, that he fixed back to its emotionless state within seconds. He thought it was going to be a relatively easy battle. He was interested in the way the boy used his own insult’s phrasing against him, though. The Lion’s condescending tone made his blood boil, though he hid it well.
“Well, you’re one to talk. You’re mad, at least I don’t talk to myself like a psychopath.” He paused for a bit, then did a fake overexaggerated frown. “Do you want to talk about it?” He asked in a baby voice, much like the voice muggles use to talk to babies. Or dogs.
“Psychopaths don’t get too far either, you know,” he added, only cause he didn’t have much else to say. “You should really talk to yourself in your dorm or something. I know Gryffindors aren’t supposed to be as smart as Ravenclaws but it doesn’t take a Ravenclaw to understand what privacy is.”
“Who’s the Hufflepuff, by the way? I really am interested in how you managed to piss off a Hufflepuff, but knowing you for the last few minutes, you’re not very likable.” Wyatt felt he was running in circles. He was trying to find an insult to hurl at the Lion, but there wasn’t much to criticize other than the fact he was a snotty Gryffindor. His hair was a nice length and wavy, his eyes were like blue-gray marbles, his skin looked like soft, fresh snow. This was going to be a very difficult fight.

Yeah, there was no way he was going to stay any longer for this. It was petty, and Alec was making a fool out of himself. And the people in the paintings weren't exactly any help you could clearly see they were rooting for the boy. So much for the people in the portraits being mature. To be fair, Alec was a bit of a jerk for upsetting a hufflepuff even though it wasn't exactly his fault. It was a lose-lose situation either way with that one. Then again, that was a hot-headed hufflepuff so there was that in his own defense too. Her threats were merely nothing though.. probably..But the word 'psychopath' is what really made the boy upset. A bit too personal.. Alec remembered back at home where he lived in a muggle neighborhood, for some odd reason. His mom said they were just being 'modest' not the point. He remembered when he'd used accidental magic on the way to the petrol station. There were some teenagers walking around when Alec was sneaking out, again. And they tried to beat the poor boy up for no reason. Of course there's a reason. Just one Alec doesn't know. The accidental magic was sort of spark that lifted the boys into the air then dropped them they ran and called him a 'psychopath' Alec knew the meaning of the word and he wasn't one which was what made him so upset. This was also something he was trying to forget.."Don't Ever Call Me A Psychopath Again.." Alec said. His eyes showed clear anger this was actually enough to make him shove the boy to the ground. Alec wasn't very strong he was actually very weak, so he was pretty surprised when his attempt to shove someone to the ground actually worked.. But phooey did he get himself into a mess.

Within seconds of his last sentence, Wyatt was pushed to the ground with the force of a full-grown man, landing with a thud on his back. Something he said had annoyed the Gryffindor so much, that the boy accumulated more strength than his small frame should allow. As he pushed himself up to a sitting/leaning position to look up at the Lion, the boy spoke up.
"Don't Ever Call Me A Psychopath Again.."
He got his answer.
“You’re a bloody psychopath! How dare you!?”
Wyatt heard his voice crack and echo in the empty hall.
The Lion’s actions didn’t remind him of what the other Gryffindors had so much fun doing. It reminded him of what his father used to do, before he left, that is. Wyatt hated being kicked around like a ragdoll, and in an argument where he thought he had the upper hand, it stung the most.
He struggled to fight back tears. Being reminded of his father was always tough, but he’d been shutting out his emotions for so long. Usually, the Gryffindors would laugh when they kicked him around, but the hauntingly assertive tone in this Lion’s voice sounded just like how his father would when he was drunk.
Those days were over, they had been for a while now. His father left Wyatt and his mother about a month before Wyatt got his letter to Hogwarts, but the memories would haunt him forever. Wyatt could take the assaults from the other Gryffindors, but this seemed fueled by something. This one meant something.
Wyatt wiped his eyes before a tear could fall from them. He gathered himself and stood up so he wouldn’t look like a cockroach on the ground. His face went back to its emotionless state, but his eyes were marble-ey. The other boy would have been a complete idiot not to notice how he was affected by the attack.
“You’re mad!” This time, his voice didn’t crack, but it was still quieter than it had once been. Wyatt didn’t fight back. He never did. Pathetic, his father's rough voice echoed in his head. It was a popular word when his dad was around. You’re being pathetic.

@Wyatt Starkey"Be a dear and add that to this list, w-would you?" Alec asked with an eye roll. Alec wasn't going to cry like the boy who almost looked like he was going too. He wasn't sad, it was just pure anger at this point. He felt no remorse. It was likely he would later of course after having time to cool down."What kind of world do you live in t-that makes you think it's okay to go that far? And heck, at this point I probably am. To think I could even get through to someone like you.. It's disgusting.." Alec said, his voice still laced with anger. He wasn't exactly scared of the boy now that he knew he'd almost made the boy cry. But this didn't mean he was going to try to push past the boy's limits."When you're ready to be a decent being in society, let me know." Alec said his gaze then went over to the people in the portraits who'd seen everything, every one of them giving disapproving looks to Alec. And that's what shut him up. As he took into full account what he'd just done. Yeah. shoving someone wasn't the worst thing you could do,, but it wasn't exactly right either. Alec looked down at his shoes.. Well shoot..

"When you're ready to be a decent being in society, let me know."
Wyatt had been standing there like an idiot through the boy’s speech. Just standing there while the boy went on talking. Calling him disgusting. Using that bloody tone. His voice was laced with anger, Wyatt could hear it in every word. He knew what anger sounded like.
He’d been on the receiving end of it and he’d used the tone before. He hated the way he was just taking all of this. The bullies would laugh at him, humiliate him, hit him, and he never retaliated. This bully was no different. He was the same as all the other Gryffindors. Proud, rowdy, mistaking their brutish behaviors for bravery and courage.
The other boy was getting dirty looks from the portraits as he started to walk away from Wyatt. Wyatt told himself it was enough. The support of portraits was all he needed to walk away, like a sane person, but he was starting to question his sanity.
Before he could stop himself, Wyatt quickly walked up to the Lion, spun him around, and punched him in the face with strength derived from self-loathing and anger. The boy lost his balance and fell to the ground in front of Wyatt. He kicked him in the stomach twice, and before a third kick to the face, he stopped himself. Wyatt told himself that he wasn’t giving the boy any mercy, he told himself that he just decided not to kick him again on his own terms, but it was mercy.
Wyatt pulled the boy up by the collar to meet his eyes and said,
“Never. Push me. Again.”
With that, he let go of the Lion's shirt.
He turned to leave, now he was the one earning dirty looks from the paintings.
