Sophie had decided to wander around the school, having nothing better to do. She had finished her homework and had read so much she had gone cross-eyed. Which rarely happened, considering how much she read, she had gotten used to reading for large amounts of time. She had already walked around the perimeter of the school and was, quite frankly, very tired. She had walked into the Halls and was looking at all the paintings smiling to herself and slightly waving to some of them.

She was so consumed in the painting she didn't notice a girl walking through the Halls. She walks into her and falls down. She just sits there, completely in shock and confused. Once she realizes what has happened she starts panicking. "O-oh my! I am t-terribly sorry! I was not watching where I was going and I did not even notice you were there!" She stands up and dusts herself off and extends her hand to help her up. "I-I am Sophie by the way. Again I am terribly sorry." She would smile slightly and correct her clothes. She hated looking untidy. I hope she is not too mad at me...wow...I am just not having the best week am I? She would sigh, disappointed in herself.

Leanne had wandered around the school all evening for fresh air: she couldn't stand to be cooped up in a stuffy common room studying all day, so she picked up her copy of Magical Theory, and headed down to the hallways, intending to read her book while walking. She couldn't bear to part with the interesting text until she had finished, and thus, brought it down.

The library was full of studious children, all preparing for their OWLs...she knew that she wouldn't be accepted there, while reading a textbook for leisure fun. She instead headed towards the Small Hall, one of the places that offered an acceptable view of the ground, yet being peaceful and quiet at the same time.

She immediately had regretted doing that sooner later, when this red blur of someone (or worse, something) had collided into her, sending both her and the precious book tumbling into the ground. The offending person was laying opposite her, with her feet and hands sprawled on the ground; and Leanne noticed, that it was only a Gryffindor who somehow managed to walk directly into her. Retrieving her book that had flown a small distance away, and her glasses; she got up, dusting her robes.

Her first reaction was to feel irritated, to blame the girl for this mishap, and walk away if nothing at happened. But she too, realised that she too was not paying attention to her surroundings previously. I was nose-deep into my book, Leanne reasoned. It could have been me bumping into her instead.

"O-oh my! I am t-terribly sorry! I was not watching where I was going and I did not even notice you were there!"
The shrill panicked voice of the Gryffindor had lapsed her back into reality, and only at that moment, did Leanne take a good look of the girl. "It's ok," she replied back casually, combing down her scruffy robe. "I accidentally bumped into a girl yesterday; all of us make the same mistakes now and then."

The blonde girl (now named Sophie) had introduced herself, and she felt obliged to do the same, even though she didn't like sharing her name to everyone she'd met. "I'm Leanne," she gave a kind smile to the girl who was getting more flustered and flustered by the minute, and was apologizing nonstop. "..and it's fine." she repeated again.

Leanne felt puzzled. Why was the girl still apologizing? Didn't she already forgive her? Looking at this intriguing girl, and figuring that she would take the effort to make friends, she started the conversation.

"So...what brings you to this desolate part of the castle?"

The girl Leanne seemed forgiving but for some reason, Sophie could not stop apologizing to her. "So...what brings you to this part of the castle?" Leanne asked her. "O-oh you know...just w-wandering. I have been pretty bored, I can not find any good books in the Library. Maybe i was just looking in the wrong places? I don't know." the whole time she was talking, it was at just louder than a whisper. She was never very loud, at least not with people she had just met. She pushes her bangs out of her eyes and smiles softly at her. "What book are you reading?" she asked her, noticing the book she was carrying. If she was carrying it around with her, it was either, very important to her or very interesting. Or she had just checked it out of the library. Either way it must be a pretty good book. If she liked reading as much as Sophie did, they would be great friends. If she even wanted to be friends that is. She would understand if Leanne did not want to be friends. After bumping into her and all but she had a feeling, perhaps because she had already forgiven her, that Leanne didn't mind her clumsiness.
