There are plenty of things that change over the summer. People go new places, make new friends, maybe color their hair or learn to do make up. However, that never meant that everything changes when you get back to school again. This was evident enough as Illowy hide herself away to the safety of the Great Lake to, metaphorically, lick her wounds.

The only thing that seemed to change for Illowy was that her bullies got cockier and ballsier. Who needed to hide in the bathrooms, or in a dark corner of the library to pounce in their pray? Clearly not them. One might think the snake would finally do away with her mother's golden rule not to fight, maybe finally come into her own self and make the decision to stand up for herself... but no.

Thanks to that choice, the girl now sat, peering into a small compact and a concealer stick she'd sneaked from her mother's makeup bag before leaving for school. Gingerly, she dabbed at her bloodied lip with a handkerchief before draping it over her knee and picking up the concealer, doing her best to try to camouflage a bruise on her cheek. If there was one thing she could say about Muggle Borns like one of her bullies, they certainly weren't afraid to get their hands dirty. At least maybe now she'd be better prepared to hide her humiliation.

Buffing and blending the concealer as best she could, she turned her attention back towards the lip. How does one simply hide a cut lip? By Merlin's Beard she needed to hurry up and learn at least a basic spell to patch herself up with.

Groaning and tossing the supplies on top of her back, the girl hugged her knees to her chest and looked out over the lake, barely noticing someone coming towards her.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Sylvie was back at school after a great summer she'd never forget. This summer, she hung out with many of her new friends from Hogwarts and got to expierence what it's like in a family of witches and wizards. Now, she was back at school where she could possibly make more friends, or form a stronger bond with the ones she already has. Sylvie smiled to herself happily thinking about her summer and what else would come during the school year. Not only did the summer memories put her in a good mood, but the weather was nice and warm on the grounds, and she'd missed visiting the lake during the summer.

Sylvie made her way over to the Great Lake, walking with a bit of a skip to her step. Her messenger bag thumped against her waist as she walked. She found the tree that she always sat under, and started to put her stuff down until she saw a familiar person in the distance. It was Illowy who Sylvie had seen over the summer at ice cream parlor in Diagon Alley. "I should say hello, it doens't look like she's doing anything important..." She went over to Illowy, still smiling. "Hello Illowy! How was your sum-" Sylvie's eyes widened a bt as she looked at the other girls lip, which seemed to be bleeding. "Oh my, what happened?" She said, examining the cut.  "Episkey would heal this in no time, but I don't know that spell yet. I always carry a first aid kit in my messenger bag because of how much I get hurt. Do you want to use something from in there to clean this up?" She pointed to Illowy's bloodied lip.

The girl flinched hearing the familiar voice of her housemate calling out to her. Illowy looked at the girl back over her shoulder before quickly turning away to try to dab once more at her lip, as though that might help Sylvie not to notice it. Sylvie wasn't dense, though. Not by any means, but being the overly proud sort of person that Illowy was, she couldn't help but make any attempt to try to save face on some level.

The blonde cut her greeting off quickly when she did take notice, "I just fell is all." no a completely lie, her bully certainly had put her down on the ground, "I'll be fine though." the girl wrapped her fingers around her handkerchief and dabbed once more. In spite of the stereotype, Illowy truly didn't like to lie. It was much easier to simply tell the truth, but omit the harsher or more upsetting details then to flat out lie about it. "I know. They really ought to teach us Episkey sooner." Illowy offered a sheepish smile, then shook her head when the girl offered to let her use her first aid kit.

"Its alright, I'll be fine, Sylvie. Really. Takes more then a bloodied lip to get to me."

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

She frowned a bit at Illowy's explination. It seemed like she was trying to hide the cut on her lip from Sylvie, but the blonde girl decided to give her classmate the benifit of the douht. Maybe there was a very incoveniant and sharp rock where Illowy had fallen? The girl decided to ask Illowy another question. "Oh, I'm sorry you fell. That must've hurt a lot. Where did you fall? Did you get cuts anywhere else on your body?" She asked, cocking her head slightly to the side.

Sylvie nodded in agreement when Illowy said that they should be taught Episkey sooner. "Yeah, It would be very useful, especially for me." Sylvie giggled, sitting next to the other girl. She didn't think her classmate would mind. She frowned again when Illowy said that she was fine without using the first aid-kit to clean up the cut. "I know you'd be fine without it, I just think it would be much more pleasant enjoying this beautiful day without having to worry about it, ya know?" Sylvie sighed, looking out at the calm lake. "But, if you insist. I won't waste my time pestering you about it." She'd learned that sometimes pestering people made things worse. Sometimes people just want your help as an option, not for you to force it on them. If she ever pressed her friends to much, they might not trust her enough to tell her things in the future. Even if it was a bit frustrating, she wanted Illowy to be able to trust her.

Sylvie laid down on the grass, looking up. White fluffy clouds flouted in the light blue sky. The world seemed to be peaceful. She rolled over on her side so she was facing towards Illowy. "So, how was your summer? It was nice seeing you at the ice cream parlor that one time." She said with a warm smile.

Sylvie wasn't thick by any means, no Slytherin was, she was simply trusting and at least she had sense enough to know when it was the time to press for information; that, Illowy was grateful of, "You know how it is... random things always just popping up looking to knock someone down." she shrugged when the blonde asked her what had caused her to fall, "I just have a couple bumps and bruises, nothing major though."

Truth be told, keeping things from Sylvie didn't sit right in her gut. After all, she was the closer to the Muggle-Born then anyone else in their house and Illowy held a certain level of respect for her. However, trust and respect were two very different things and the only person who held those two privileges with her was Kyle.

As the other snake laid out in the grass, Illowy turned away for a moment to hide away her things in her bag before propping herself back on her elbows, letting herself enjoy the sun at least while it was still here, "It was... eventful. Just not in the fun sort of way." she admitted, "I spent some time with my cousin and my family. Mostly I just did a lot of studying. I think the ice cream parlor was the peak of my social interaction this summer." she offered a sheepish smile, blinking pale hues at the other girl, "What about you? Do anything fun?"

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

"So... you just tripped on a small rock or something??" She said, examining the girl. It could definitly be a true statement, but something about that explination just didn't sit right with Sylvie. Her small frown stayed on her face. "Where are your bruises? If you fell, I'd assume there are some on your knees from the fall." She looked Illowy dead in the eyes, because like many people said, the eyes are the window to the soul. Sylvie believed this whole heartedly because her eyes had given away her lies plenty of times. They would sparkle when she was happy or excited and turn dark when she was sad or angry.

"You were studying... during the summer?!?!" Sylvie exclaimed. Her father wanted her to be a very bright child, but he knew that summer was a time to get away from schoolwork and have fun with your friends and family. That's why even if he had to continue his trips during the summer, he insisted on bringing Sylvie and her sister along. That was also why he let her stay with friends for a bit during vacation. She felt a bit bad for Illowy, especially since she'd barely spent anytime at the ice cream parlor. Her father came and swooped her away once he'd realized he was missing a child.

Sylvie pointed at the girl with her arm, saying. "Next summer we are going to hang out more! You are not allowed to stay cooped up in your house studying when you should be having fun!" She was a bit suprised that her extrovert side had shone through after so long. It had almost been too long. She smirked at Illowy, "Unless you want to spend you summer studying."

Sylvie certainly held true to the Slytherin quality of cunning as she pressed one or two more questions onto Illowy concerning the 'fall', all while keeping Illowy's eyes locked with her own. Though it could certainly be said that Illowy's own gaze was cold like stone and piercing enough to practically look straight through you, the brunette had never experienced that from another person; and she certainly never expected that person to be Sylvie.

All the same, Illowy was never known to break a gaze, "I'm sure I'll see them under my jeans when its time for bed." she spoke, her voice calm and slightly flat.

The child nodded lightly, hearing Sylvie exclaim about her summer work before inviting her to spend more time with her next summer. Illowy smiled sheepishly and shrugged, "I'm just use to it. My mum always home schooled me, so I'm use to just working. Plus, its kind of cool to be able to do spells that the other second years can't do yet." Illowy stroked a dark lock behind her ear, "But, I mean it would also be nice to actually get out of the house once in a while. I certainly wouldn't mind it."

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Illowy's words were calm and precise, and their wasn't any tone in her voice that would suggest she was lying. With a sigh Sylvie decided to let it go. After all, it was very plausible Illowy could've tripped, although she didn't really she her friend as the clumsy type. To her, Illowy seemed itteligent and calculated, not goofy and carefree like others she knew. If there was something going on with Illowy, it was obvious the brunnette didn't want to tell her. "Okay then, I'm glad you aren't too hurt. If you need anything, just let me know." She said with a kind smile.

"Oh yeah! When witches and wizards are homeschooled, they actually learn cool things! You don't have to suffer through math or science or history, well, they do have history of magic.... but muggle history is much more boring! Some of the coolest things we did was make a lightbulb, meanwhile wizards can just, BAM!" Sylvie spread her arms to emphasize her point, "create light with the flick of a wand. I wish a proffesor had shown up to my house sooner so I could learn about more interesting things." She had started to ramble a bit, but didn't really notice. "You know, when I was a child I had all these books about magic and cool places where people lived these interesting lives, and I wished I could just hop into the books I was reading and live there, escape from my boring, average life and start something new and exciting. I wished I could BE the character be.. nevermind i'm so sorry for rambling again." Sylvie blushed and sat up, her gaze fixing on the water. "We should definatle make plans for next summer. Have you ever been to an amusement park? Maybe it's just a muggle thing."
