No More Chocolate Frogs
Oliver sat on a log, curling over a book and reading the words out loud just to focus on it. "Alright, kill the magical slugs, got it, wrinkly 'ol Professor Davis," Oliver sighed, trying to cram the information into his head. His stomach rumbled and he groaned. His fingers begun to pat on his leg from agitation, then he dug his nails in as the urge was killing him. Oliver looked at his bag, then away, then back. He was physically fighting his neck muscles but gave in and grabbed his backpack and pulled out a chocolate frog box, he only had one.
Oliver ripped open the box and pulled out the chocolate frog with anger, his cheeks puffing up and going red. Large eyes bulging and breathing heavily," what do you want from me?!" he roared at the tiny, chocolate frog," you're poison! You hurt me! I DON'T WANT YOU ANYMORE!"
There was a pause between the two as they stared at one another. The frog croaked. With that Oliver screamed and hurled the chocolate frog as far as he could into the lake. As the frog swung through the air, going to a considerably distance, Oliver watched it go. As he made eye contact with his beloved frog, he was hit with dozens of flashbacks. All the frogs he had spent evenings with when everyone was at events. All the times he could escape bullies and hide in the bathroom to tell frogs his problems, before devouring them. They'd always been there for him, he'd never forget them. Yet he couldn't move on. As the frog left Oliver's sight, he had one last flashback of Oliver sharing his first kiss with a chocolate frog.
Oliver panted, wiping sweat off his brow from all the little activity he just did. With fists clenched, Oliver sat back down and picked up his book. "Stupid herbology, making me hungry just looking at this plant..." he groaned to himself.
It was a warm, summer morning. The grass was slightly damp from last nights rain but the paths and earth itself was dry. Birds were out singing and Oliver sat in a relatively quiet side of the lake. To get to where he was however was just a stroll down the lakeside path.
