Cheering Friends
It was early morning when Bloom woke up from a terrible sleep. She cried herself to sleep, something she's hardly done in her lifetime. She looked around her dorm and saw that her dorm mates had been back. She wondered when they came into the room. Was it late? Did they see her cry? She had no idea. Getting up slowly from her bed, Bloom needed to get out. She needed fresh air.
She got up and looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were puffy. Great..., she thought to herself. She not only felt sad, but she looked the part, too. Quietly, Bloom got dressed in her uniform, grabbed her wand and made her way out of the dorm, out of the common room, and down to the ground level. She zoomed out of the foyer and into the courtyard. She looked at the cemented bench and could not handle knowing that she met Reid there. She decided to go to the lake. Although she did spend a night there with him and another Ravenclaw, there was something about the lake that calmed her down.
Bloom walked over to the lake and sat on the tree stump that she sat on before. She was by herself. The morning was silent, but she could hear the rustling of leaves as animals were beginning to wake up. She took in the nature. She strived for adventure, anything to be away from the thought of Reid for now. Bloom still wanted to be friends with him, but right now, they needed their space. A space created all thanks to her.
Bloom took out her wand and began to practice her Charm's homework. This was a way to prevent thinking about him, and to stop her eyes from wanting to cry. To prevent being caught, she was focused on just doing the wand movements and did not say any of the incantations. Currently, she was practicing the levitation charm.

Isaiah James Corbec. A name that didn’t quite have the level of infamy or renown that he himself had hoped, but popularity was a side bonus, if it ever came to him, rather than the end goal. Adventure. The journey in and of itself was the true goal, and Ike had made it a point to stay up ALL NIGHT building a secret hideout near the lake. All the better of a place to plot and scheme his next adventures from. But it had to be a base of utmost secrecy, and so even his best friend, and BRO, Darius, didn’t know about it yet. Ike planned on revealing it to him later.
Darius is probably hanging out with Arya… Ike surmised. It seemed like there was a thing going on between those two, so Ike had adhered to the bro code and left them to their own devices.
All night. On the perimeter of the lake, behind some trees. Literally no more than 10 meters from where Bloom was practicing her levitation charm, Ike had completed the finishing touches on his super secret hideout. And he wasn’t about to let it get found out.
Ike poked his head out of the woodline, caked in dirt…as would happen if an 11 year old boy spent an entire night digging an underground bunker with a mixture of shovel and magic.
“Psst!” He tried to get Bloom’s attention. “Pssssst! Over here!”
The ‘scenario’ was simple. Why else would a girl be crying alone out here? Of course it clearly had to do with some bully after her! Perhaps it was Marcus? Erin? Or perhaps someone else that Ike didn’t know about? Without much thought, the brave, but foolhardy young boy had clearly leapt to conclusions in his own mind about Bloom’s presence here, but from Bloom’s perspective, it was some little boy in the woods beckoning her over. Strange, much? Perhaps so, but at least it screamed of adventure!

As Bloom was practicing her levitation charm movements, tears began to form in her eyes. How could she have been so stupid? Why did she tell Reid about her feelings? She should have kept them to herself. But no, she thought it was better to be honest about her feelings.
Bloom decided that maybe she could practice her levitation charm with a nearby rock. She wanted to see if she had what it took to try out the charm. It was the first charm of her wizarding education and she hoped to get it right. Standing up from sitting on the tree trunk, Bloom eyed a rock on the ground. Pointing her wand at the rock, she started the levitation charm. Unfortunately, she was unable to finish trying out the spell because she heard a noise coming from behind her.
Bloom looked around only to find a Gryffindor that was trying to get her attention. Do I know him? She wondered. She probably had seen him before in passing, but never did she actually meet this person. He seemed very much wanting to talk to her. Bloom, however, did not want to talk. But she also did not want to be rude.
Quickly rubbing her eyes and face dry, she put her wand down and walked over to the Gryffindor. "How long have you been here?" she asked, wondering how much of her crying he's seen.

“The entire night, of course! I saw you sad over there!”
Ike suddenly tugged her into the brush, hiding Bloom behind cover. Cover from who or what? Bloom probably had no idea. But this was a war, and staying out in the open got you spotted, shot….or worse.
“We’ve gotta stay low! Or they’ll see us!” The young boy said, very seriously, his Bostonian accent coming through as he whispered to her. It was clear that this boy was from America. This was not Hogwarts. This was France. June, 1944. Bloom and Ike were paratroopers in the French countryside.
He handed her a stick. Not just any stick. This was an M1 Garand rifle stick. Several other various doohickeys and gadgets were given to the likely….at this point confused girl. Pine cone Mk2 fragmentation grenades. A pair of binoculars fashioned out of carved out pieces of wood tied together with yo-yo string.
“I’ll bring you back to base! So they don’t find us!”
He shuffled around some brush, revealing what appeared to be an inconspicuous hole in the ground. Beckoning her over, he reminded her of the obvious.
“Stay low! Stay low!” He said, in a hushed tone, before climbing into the hole.
If Bloom so chose to follow the young boy, she’d find herself in an underground bunker of sorts. Complete with a giant pillow fortress, some canned goods, and various more “weapon” stockpiles. Pieces of wood carved out to look like guns, an hollowed out portion of them that just so happened to perfectly house a wand….
Ike turned towards Bloom, saluting her. “This is Patrol Base Echo, and you’ve stumbled across it, ma’am. I’m Lieutenant Ike Corbec, at your service!”

Cheering Friends
Bloom was beyond confused on what was happening at that moment. This Gryffindor was in his own world. He was so carefree. Bloom was also embarrassed that he had seen her sad. That was the last thing she wanted someone to see her. She was usually happy and outgoing. This sadness was unlike her.
She felt a tug on her arm and she followed him into the nearby brush. Bloom held onto her wand just in case, not knowing what was to occur. What's happening right now? she asked herself. The Gryffindor handed her a stick and told her to stay low. Her lips were turning from a frown to a smile. Whatever was happening, it was slowly changing her mood.
"Who are we hiding from?" she asked, her almond-shaped eyes looking around, but still staying low. Bring me back to the base? She was now nervous. Where would he be taking her. For some reason, she did not care. Her mood became lighter and lighter.
Bloom followed the Gryffindor to his base through a tunnel. She stayed low and made her way into what looked like a hand-made bunker. It was filled with pillows and sticks. She looked around and then looked at the Gryffindor who finally introduced himself as Lieutenant Ike Corbec. Bloom could not help but to laugh, hard.
She went to sit on the pillow and just could not stop laughing. Was this just a bunch of emotions she was feeling vomited into laughter? Or was she actually happy about what was happening? Nonetheless, Bloom was relieved that she was not crying at the moment. She was laughing so hard, that it was difficult for her to introduce herself.
"My... My name is... Bloom," she laughed in between. After a bit of laughter, she calmed down and looked at the Gryffindor. "I'm sorry, I really needed this. Thank you," she said, smiling at the first year.
