To Meet Again
Reducio
Takes place during their first year.
Asteria sat in a shady, grassy patch outside the school,The Daily Prophet in one hand and a chocolate frog in the other. It was a warm spring day on the grounds of Hogwarts and the students had finally been set free from their classes for the moment. The sun burned bright on most of the school grounds, but lucky near the lake it was easier to find a nice cool spot protected by the big beautiful green trees. The school grounds were filled with the chatter of students as they met up with their friends. The sounds of laughter was as clear as the bright, blue sky.
Asteria looked up, a small, blue song bird was buzzing about the trees, chirping happily away as it flapped its small wings. It zoomed in and out of the tress, as though it were playing a game with them, Asteria smiled as she returned to her book. She really should try and get some studying in before break was over, there was a test next class and she didn't want to fail. However, it was extraordinarily easy to get distracted on a day like today. She studied last night of course, but it didn't hurt to review the information again. Asteria gave a sad sigh as she looked at the next page, it seems there was a quidditch match in London and, sadly, Asteria could not go.
It sucks, Asteria remembered when she and her dad were able to go to these games two gather, the last time being just two years ago. The London Lackeys versus the Glasgow Queens, two fairly new teams that made it to the big leagues and Asteria was excited to see what they were made of. Asteria also remembered making a new friend that day too, it was strange though, seeing someone as young as she was out so late without her family. But, Asteria had figure they weren't too far off somewhere nearby and left it at that.
Asteria wondered if she would ever see the girl again, but when two years had past, she put the encounter in the back of her mind. Turning the page, Asteria glance over the moving images and words on the page. Nothing but the usual today it seems, which wasn't a bad thing at all in Asteria's eyes, it meant a slow day for her father hopefully. She loved him dearly, but he worked far too hard for his own good sometimes. Asteria smiled as a breeze came through, she finally found a quiet area to relax in! So far every other spot was already taken and it seems the older students that usually sat here decided to find someplace new perhaps. She hoped no one would ruin her newfound sanctuary, she's heard enough noise as it is, for now she just wanted to read in peace.

To Meet Again
Makena had just been let out from class she had stayed behind a few extra minutes to finish her work which wasn't really like her but she hadn't been doing very well in class and she though she wouldn't risk it, it was a beautiful, sunny, warm day so Makena decided she would visit the lake, sit under the tress and just relax.
As Makena started to approach the lake she saw that most spots around the lake were filled with other students so there wasn't many places to sit, Makena looked quickly around the lake and she saw one girl sitting alone under the bright green tree's shading her from the scorching sun. Makena started walking again she hoped the girl wouldn't mind Makena sitting near her she didn't want to be a bother but maybe she would make a new friend Makena thought as she got closer to the girl.
Makena was now stood beside the girl "Hey .... Um I don't want to bother you but there aren't many other spaces around the lake so would it be okay if I sat here?" Makena said looking at the girl biting her lip slightly, as Makena looked at the girl there was something familiar about her but she just couldn't put her finger on it.

To Meet Again
Asteria sat under the tree that proved her shade and finished reading the paper. Overall it was a pretty boring read today, so she figured she might as well read one of the books she got from the library. One of the first places Asteria decided to check out since coming here had been the library. When she finally found it with the help of an older student, she was amazed and delighted by the sight of it. Shelves as high as she could see filled with books of all shapes and sizes. She didn't know where to begin, so she choose to explore the shelves until she found something she wanted to read.
There where thousand upon thousands of books and each book was about something different. Some where about potions, and some about Transfiguration. Others were all different kinds of books on history and there were even books about fairy tales and mysteries. Eventually, Asteria came across an isle that was chained off. Curious, she decided to see if she could go in anyway only to be told off by the librarian that the section was off limits to first years. Much to her disappointment, Asteria continued on until she found a book she hadn't seen since she was a little girl. Her fond memories of the story convinced her to take the book out to read it, and so she did.
Asteria reached into her bag and pull out the book, "Bartimus and The Wandering Muggle" the title read on its dark green cover. Settling in to her area a little more to get comfortable, Asteria opened the book and began to read. Deep into her reading; Asteria didn't notice the shadow of another come across her, until she heard a girl's voice. "Hey .... Um I don't want to bother you but there aren't many other spaces around the lake so would it be okay if I sat here?" The voice said. Slightly saddened at the interruption of her reading, a small, slow sigh released itself from her before she answered, not looking at the girl. "Hello," Asteria replied in a warm, welcoming voice. While she did not want to be disturbed, it was clear the girl wasn't trying to, and Asteria wasn't one to be rude to someone unless they were being rude to her. "of course you can sit here, I don't mind." Asteria moved her bag from her left side and onto her lap for the girl, her eyes never leaving the page as she did so.

The girl let out a small sigh before she answered, not looking at Makena
As Makena waited for the girl to reply she took out a sketch pad from her bag and a pencil, Makena flipped through the pages until she found a blank page she then looked up from her book to take a deep breath in and take in the scenery, the lake was beautiful the sun was hitting on it in the perfect placing reflecting in the water and the many students gathered around talking to their friends laughing and joking.
Makena then turned to the girl beside her she had long red hair in loose curls styled similar to Makena's and she was also quite pale. Makena then looked back at her sketch pad spinning her pencil around her fingers thinking of what to draw next.
The girl said in a warm and welcoming voice she then moved her bag from her left side and onto her lap, her eyes never leaving the page as she did. Makena sat down placing her bag next to her, "Thanks" Makena paused for a moment "This might sound strange but you seem familiar in some way like I've met you before...""Hello of course you can sit here, I don't mind"

"Thanks", the girl said in response to Asteria's welcome. Asteria said nothing as the girl took her seat next to her, instead she returned to her book looking for the where she last left off before being interrupted. The two sat together in silence for a few minutes, the sound of the other students around them resonating through out the school grounds. Part of Asteria wanted to say something, deep down she could feel the awkwardness of the situation. She was torn between speaking to the girl, and continuing reading the book. Fortunately; Asteria didn't have to say anything first, the girl spoke to her instead.
"This might sound strange," she said to Asteria "but you seem familiar in some way like I've met you before..." "Hmm?" Asteria contemplated what her fellow student had said to her. Thinking about it, the girls voice did sound familiar. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she did sound like someone Asteria had met before. "Really,do I?" Asteria answered her eyes scanning the page of her book. "How so?" she asked. Perhaps they had met before, maybe they were in the same classes, Maybe they've just been near each other before, there were lots of reasons for this feeling of familiarity. Each one more likely than the next. Asteria turned the page of her book, a little small talk while reading never hurt anyone after all, it was better than awkward silence anyway.

The girl asked not raising her head from her book. "Yeah... I um .. I can't quite put my finger on it, I don't think I have just seen you around because I haven't even seem your face really so I don't think that's how you are familiar." Makena paused and looked up from her sketch pad and to the girl but as far as she could see the girl wasn't familiar by looks but she could only see part of her as the girl was reading, before the silence got to awkward Makena started speaking again looking back at the lake. "I mean we are both Gryffindors but I don't really spend much time in the common room so I don't think that is it... What lesson did you just have maybe that is where I saw you" Makena pats her pencil on the paper thinking, "Sorry if this is annoying but its sort of bugging me that I cant quite tell how I know you, Anyway .... Oh I just realised I haven't introduced myself how rude of me I'm Makena" Makena turned to face the girl and she held out her hand."Hmm? Really,do I? How so?"

"Yeah... I um .. I can't quite put my finger on it," the girl responded. "I don't think I have just seen you around because I haven't even seem your face really so I don't think that's how you are familiar." Asteria listened as the girl continued to explain, part of her was saying to put the book down for a moment; another side of her however, was simply telling Asteria to keep reading. It seems Asteria didn't quite know how to respond as she took a minute to think over what was being said. As a brief awkward silence had fallen, the other girl was quick to fill it. "I mean we are both Gryffindors but I don't really spend much time in the common room so I don't think that is it... " she said. "What lesson did you just have maybe that is where I saw you." "Oh..um, I just had potions class before the break, and you?" Asteria replied thinking back for a second.Maybe if she would just look up from her book for at least a second, then maybe that would solve the mystery of why she was so familiar to the girl.
But Asteria was enjoying the book, she was only on the second chapter but still she didn't have her book mark and she didn't want to crease the page in fear of getting a good talking to from the librarian. "Sorry if this is annoying but its sort of bugging me that I cant quite tell how I know you," While it was slightly annoying, it wasn't overly so, Asteria has gone through such circumstances before as well. She's met a lot of people it's only natural she didn't remember every last one of them, and as a result these things can happen.Besides the girl's voice did seem slightly familiar to Asteria as well. "Anyway" the girl went on ".... Oh I just realized I haven't introduced myself how rude of me I'm Makena." out the corner of her eye Asteria saw the girls hand reach out for a shake. Makena....Makena....she knew that name. Makena D..Makena De...Asteria green eyes widen in surprise, "Makena Degray...is that you?" Asteria asked astonished to see her again. Deciding she'll face the wrath of the Librarian later, Asteria folded the page of the book and closed it. Asteria turned to face the girl, a warm smile gracing her face as she did so. "It's me, Asteria Hana. It's been ages!"

The girl said still reading her book, "Oh that's not it then I just had a history of magic..""Oh..um, I just had potions class before the break, and you?"
The girl kept reading until Makena introduced herself when she did the girl stopped reading like she was thinking, Makena put her hand down as the girl said ...
The girl then folded the page of the book and closed it before turning to face Makena with a warm smile gracing her face as she did so, Makena was curious how she knew her name but as the girl looked up Makena started to remember more who she could be when the girl said"Makena Degray...is that you?"
As soon as Asteria said this Makena suddenly remembered who she was and when they had met, it was two years ago the London Lackeys versus the Glasgow Queens were competing in a quidditch match, Makena had snuck out to get away from her mother even if just for the night and her muggle friend Kaleb surprised Makena with tickets which were probably hard to get since he wasn't from the wizarding world but when they got there Kaleb had gone to get snacks when Makena met a girl called Asteria and she was there with her day they had talked for a bit before the game started and a bit after and they became quite good friends, Makena hoped to see her again but she never did. "Oh my god, I haven't seen you in ages! How have you been ? How's your dad ? I didn't know you went here !" A big smile crossed Makena's face."It's me, Asteria Hana. It's been ages!"

To Meet Again
Years! It had been years since Asteria last saw Makena, two years in fact. and now here she was, here they both were at Hogwarts, in Gryffindor, together! Of all the things Asteria expected, this was not one of them. She thought she'd never see Makena again, or if she did, neither would remember the other, but she was wrong. Never the less, Asteria was pleased to see her again, to finally have a friend to talk to from before Hogwarts. "Oh my god," Makena said. "I haven't seen you in ages! How have you been ? How's your dad ? I didn't know you went here!" It seems Makena was just as surprised as Asteria was, if not more.
"I've been fine!" Asteria stated as she put her book away. "My dad's fine too, maybe a little stressed if anything. Busy as always,it's not easy being an Auror after all." Asteria continued, her green eyes gleaming with excitement."Well, of course I go here!" she said with a chuckle. "Although my mum's mum wanted me to go to Beauxbatons like her and my aunt. A bit of sad news for her when she found out." Asteria shrugged. "But what about you?" She asked Makena curiously "How have you and your family been?"
It was two years ago, but Asteria hadn't forgotten, it was such a fun day and the match was amazing. Asteria and her father had arrived right on time before the match had begun. She had asked her dad to buy her an enchanted chocolate crown. A special treat created for the Glasgow Queens, the team she was rooting for. While she made her way toward their seats, she met a young girl around her age, though she was by herself. At first, she wondered if the girl came alone, but then she paid no mind to it, assuming her parents were off somewhere nearby, maybe getting snacks like her father. They ended up making small talk, about what team they were rooting for among a few other things. It wasn't long before Asteria's father and the person she assumed to be Makena's father returned. From there, they spent the rest of the evening cheering, talking, and enjoying the match. Asteria didn't want the fun to end, but she was happy when the Lackey's won, even if it was by the skin of their teeth. Still, that night is a treasured memory for Asteria, not just because she got to be with her dad, but because she made a new friend too. "I can't believe we get to be here, together!"

" I'm glad everything is good with your family and with you, and yeah true its not easy being an aura but I'm sure your dad is great at it."
"Yeah same I'm happy we got to meet again". Makena smiled warmly before continuing "Oh um my family well ....." Makena paused looking down at the ground for a moment, she looked back up and continued "I don't think I told you when we first met but my father had past a few years before I met you and well saying I'm not close with my mother would be an understatement so I was glad when I got my Hogwarts letter." Makena stopped thinking before quickly talking again " Don't worry it isn't all that bad" She lied "I have a friend at home h is a muggle but he is so kind and accepting o me being a witch so it was sad leaving him ... but enough about that " Makena clears her throat "If you want to run for the hills now I'll understand" Makena said with a half- laugh, as she thought " great probably going to loose another friend with my rambling ugh ""I can't believe we get to be here, together!"
