Breathe, Bloom... Breathe! Bloom was staring at herself in the mirror in her dorm. It was eight o'clock and she was beyond nervous because she was meeting Reid Kovacs at the lake in just a little under an hour after two days since they met. It was just going to be him and her alone in the dark by the lake. Granted, it wasn't a date, but she couldn't help but to feel as though it was. Her mind was racing about what could happen. What if she makes a move by accident? What if he makes a move? Her overactive imagination began to take toll of reality.

Looking at the time it was 8:45pm. Shoot! Bloom was going to be late if she didn't hurry up. Still in front of the mirror, she kept her straight brunette hair down and parted it to the side. The shine from her hair has lessened which means that the potion was not as strong anymore because it already did it's job: regrew her hair from the hair-loss jinx. She was so happy to have met Reid with her hair back to normal. Would he even have noticed her if she was bald? Probably not. Bloom grabbed her cherry wood and unicorn hair wand and black cloak from on the chair and made her way out of the Ravenclaw dorm. She looked around the common room and saw that there were a couple Ravenclaw's that were studying together.

Some of the Ravenclaw's looked at her as she made her way to the Ravenclaw Dorm door and she told them that she needed a book last minute from the library. The Ravenclaw's looked back down to their world. It only slightly creepy for Bloom, but it worked. She made her way out of the common room and into the tower. Slowly but surely, she finally hit the outside. Running as fast as she could, she ran past the courtyard and onto the grounds towards the lake.

Nearing nine o'clock at night, the clouds are clear and the grounds are quiet. There was a slight foggy mist on top of the lake towards the deep ends. It was eerie, but also a bit fascinating to see. She had never been out past curfew before. Bloom looked around, finally at the lake and did not see Reid anywhere. Did he forget? she asked herself, wondering if he did forget and this was all a waste of time. Bloom decided to wait a few minutes and sat down on a trunk of a tree that was near the lake. Sitting crisscross applesauce, she stared at the eerie fog before her. This was definitely going to be an adventure.

It should be a little concerning that he didn't feel particularly scared to sneak off to the Lake. He wasn't dumb to know he was sneaking out to hang out with a girl but he took it as a matter of safety. No one else was going to be with her, it might as well be initiative for him to be a good friend. Were they friends? He didn't actually know if she considered him as one or more of an acquaintance. Even then, it was good timing due to the fact that he wasn't in the best mindset to stay in the dorms. "Ay-up lads, I'm dropping some stuff off at the library."

He got a few nods and farewells as they went back to whatever they were doing. It seemed like they were playing a round of Wizard's Chess. Reid was in his normal school clothes, but the tie was left back in his dormitory. The gold would be too easy to spot after all. It took him a while to make it out to the Grounds without being seen, he was afraid of being spotted by the Grounds keep and any of the faculty members. He had a watch around his wrist that he often referred to, glancing at it every now and then to see his time.

Drat - he was late! Reid's wand was at his side, he didn't know what he would do with it - but it was there just in case. The walk was a lot more arduous than he remembered, but relief washed over him as he saw the figure near the edge of the lake. To not startle her, he took a step towards Bloom carefully to not risk the chance of being stunned or something. "Bloom? It's Reid." he softly called out under his breath.

"Trouble usually finds me."

Bloom gripped her wand in her right hand hard and turned around to see who called her name. When she saw that it was only Reid, she outstretched her legs to stand up. She came up to him carefully, not to trip over branches or outgrowing tree roots. As she was making her way up to him she began to wonder if she should hug him or give him a handshake. She felt that perhaps hugging wasn't okay just yet. Instead of a handshake, which she also thought was weird, she just waved at him.

"I thought you forgot," she said, her thin lips spreading to a smile. She was beyond happy to see him, but she couldn't show him how excited she truly was. She carefully skipped back to the trunk of the tree where she was sitting and motioned him to follow her. She sat on the left side of the tree trunk and looked at the lake.

"It's absolutely eerie at night with the fog," she said, wondering if she should go in the water or not. The last thing she needed was an emergency happening in front of him. Who knows what could happen. "Are you going to go in, too?" she asked, wondering if he would take the risk, too. It would make her feel much more courageous to give it a try.

Her hood up, cloaked in plain black robes, Dymphna wandered out into the night. With nothing but her wand and telescope in hand, it felt like such an adventure. She didn't know exactly what she would get up to so there wasn't anything she could do to prepare, other than hoping that she didn't get caught. Being out so late was surely against the rules and everything that she stood for but it was so hard to see the stars from the Ravenclaw tower windows.

There was a spell that she only knew of but never practiced as they hadn't learned it in Charms yet. It would be useful now but Dymphna didn't dare risk messing up the wand movement. She tripped a few times along the way but finally made it down towards the lake, her idea of a perfect spot for star gazing. As she focused on the stars above, she could swear she heard a voice from nearby. Turning quickly to look into the darkness, she called out, "Hello?"

You're not afraid, she thought to herself but who was she kidding? It was already scary enough being in the dark. "Is someone there?" Maybe it was only her mind playing tricks on her. Trying to be brave but also curious to know what was going on, she headed towards where she thought she heard murmuring in the distance, towards a line of trees.

The boy lowered his defensive hands, the ones immediately shot up when he saw her wand. Yet he followed her along, hunched and eyes looking about them. Reid pursed his lips, deciding whether he should even consider it. Yet he figured he could meet her halfway with such a thing. "I was going to roll my pants up to my knees and wade in up to my knees." he sheepishly smiled. Reid had his eyes on the fog the whole time, a little worried if it hid anything behind it. Yet he tried not to dwell and freak out over such a thing. "I was going to keep watch for any -"

As soon as he said that, he had heard the voice from behind. The Hufflepuff's wand laid upon his hand, pointed down towards the floor however. Reid ducked his head as he inched out of the shadowy embrace of the trees from above, brows furrowed as he approached a little closer to the source. The dress shoes crunched the dry earth below, a twig snapped and a few leaves rustled underneath. He glanced back towards Bloom, then turned his head back to the figure.

He moved his head past a trunk to stare down the row, seeing what looked like the brightest hair color he's ever seen under the moonlight. Reid squinted as he tried to make out the figure not too far from them, " ... Dymph? ..." Was it? Someone else could have the same hair, yet he spent enough time talking to her to remember her frame. He didn't dare call any louder, but he didn't want to wait around and be Stupefy'd either.

When she heard that he would join her in the lake, she was both nervous and excited. She hadn't had this close relationship with someone before-- even if it was as friends. She often would stay with the girls and swim with the girls only. But to be in the lake with someone other than a girl was a bit nerve-wrecking.

Bloom saw that Reid was staring intently on the fog. Was he scared? She didn't blame him. Considering the fact that it was late at night with thick fog and the outside was quieter than expected, she realized that they did need to be a bit more cautious. She was glad that he wanted to choose to watch over them. She was going to get ready to take off her clothing to reveal her swimsuit when she heard something behind them. It wasn't just her as Reid heard it, too. She reared closer to Reid, a little terrified, looking in the distance. She saw that it was human coming up to them and then she heard Reid mention a name after the person had asked who was there.

Wasn't that a Ravenclaw? she asked to herself, wondering how she knew that name. Bloom waited to see who would be coming out from the shadows. Bloom still stayed close to Reid, only until she felt it was safe.

Dymphna lowered her wand. As if she would actually know what to do with it. Her spell knowledge was very basic, limited to cleaning (that she wasn't even allowed to use at home) and the spells that they were all currently learning in Charms. She didn't think any of those would actually help if she were in physical danger. Her body was tense, seeing a figure in the distance but she was unable to make out any of their features. What if it was a werewolf?!

What was that? Only a few people called her by her nickname and it was mainly the girls in her dorm but there was also a certain boy that she had introduced herself using Dymph. "Reid?" She whispered then cleared her throat in case he didn't hear her, "Reid, is that you?" If it was then what was he doing all the way out here? She stepped closer, noticing another figure behind the boy.

Oh, it was Reid! Well, that was a relief. She noticed his floppy dark hair and now that she'd calmed down a bit, there was no doubt that she knew that voice. "Who's that with you?" She asked, hoping to be introduced and possibly make a new friend. It was strange to think that it hadn't been too long since her first day at Hogwarts but she had already met a handful of friendly people, though it wouldn't hurt to meet a few more.

Reid wasn't really sure if who he called out to was actually Dymphna, but he was about to find out. What if it was a spirit who was impersonating someone? He truly watched too much horror flicks. Yet when she was finally in a good distance and he heard her voice properly, it was the Ravenclaw. His hand came up to clutch his chest out of relief, his heart was honestly about to burst out of it. The cloak and hood was just too much for his timid heart to handle.

"Blimey, I thought you were a specter after seeing that cloak." he breathed, throwing his head back a little. A thin layer of sweat formed around his forehead, matting his hair along with the wet winds the large lake brought. He stepped away from Bloom to let them get acquainted with one another, "This is Bloom, you two might have seen each other." That was his general assumption with anyone in each other's house, but he was ashamed to say he didn't know any of the boys aside from Stephen Flux.

He didn't know her last name and he also didn't know Dymphna's, that was quite odd of him. They didn't know his either now that he thought of it. Reid put the wand away and ran a hand through his hair. His nerves had his fingers shaking a little, but not a second too soon did they calm down. But the question came to mind, why was she out here? He didn't think of her as someone who would sneak out at this hour. "What are you doing out so late, Dymph?" he asked with a crooked smile, wringing his wrist all the while.

"Trouble usually finds me."

Bloom was relieved to hear that it was definitely another student that was sneaking around at night to the lake. She stayed clutching onto Reid when she felt him move away from her. Bloom quickly looked at him, but ignored the fact that he just gave them distance. She looked at the Ravenclaw who's name was Dymphna and smiled.

"It's nice to meet you!" She said, reaching her arm out to shake hands. Bloom had seen Dymphna before around the common room and corridors, but never had she met her.

Reid had asked her why she was out so late. She assumed that she was probably out late for an adventure. She wanted Dymphna to be in on the secret of what they were attempting and see if she was brave enough to join them.

"We're going to take a dip in the lake. Want to join us?" she asked, still smiling at the Ravenclaw. She wondered what she would say to the idea. The waters were a bit eerie with the fog touching the surface, but it shouldn't be too bad.

Bloom immediately put together the Dymphna that was mentioned when they first met a couple days ago. Dymphna and Reid had met each other before Bloom met him and they hit it off with creating a study group. Bloom didn't know whether or not to feel a bit threatened by Dymphna or not. She really liked Reid and if Dymphna liked him, too, it would have been a straining competition of attention. Bloom noticed how Reid was reacting to Dymphna. He played with his hair and was a bit too wiggly what with playing with his wrists when talking to her. Did he like her? she asked herself. Great... Failed again, she thought.

Sighing at the thought, Bloom decided it was time to just get into the lake. Her heart felt heavy at the thought that another crush was crushed. She pretended to hide the defeat and smiled at them both.

"Well, I'm going in now," she said, walking back towards the tree stump. She did not want to go swimming in her uniform as the dry clothing would help her dry off later on. Not caring that Reid may be looking, she took off her shoes, socks, skirt, sweater and shirt. Underneath her uniform was a bathing suit that she planned on wearing. It was a two-piece white bathing suit with yellow polka dots. She kept her clothing together on the stump and made her way towards the lake. She turned around to Reid seeing if he was watching her and then went back to the lake. She placed her toe in the water. Freezing, she thought. But it didn't stop her.

"Come on in guys!" she looked back at them, only her toe touching the water for the time being. She needed to get used to the temperature of the water before walking further in.

Dymphna couldn't help but to laugh at that, almost doubling over from it. How unladylike! Her gran would have a fit. The two other students seemed just as scared as she was upon finding figures in the distance and Reid confirmed it. She didn't feel so scared or nervous now. The dark had always made her a little uneasy but she was used to large bodies of water, growing up in a seaside town. Swimming was one of her skills outside of academics.

"Watch too many horror films, do you?" The blonde joked, elbowing him gently before shaking Bloom's hand. "It's nice to finally meet you proper," she was excited to meet a girl that she didn't dorm with. Sometimes it was easier to get on each other's nerves because they spend so much time together. It's always refreshing meeting others, especially so when they already had a mutual friend. "Dymphna Teague," she confirmed, "but you can call me Dymph if that's easier." She wrinkled her nose at her traditional Irish name.

It felt right that she had stumbled upon them. Her first ever time sneaking out and she had others to talk to about it, or get caught with if it came to that. Don't think about that, she thought to herself, not wanting to work herself up to worrying about it. At Reid's question, she held up her telescope but didn't think that he could actually see it. "I wanted to see the stars. It's much easier to do it out here than from the windows." She was glad that the Ravenclaw common room was in the tower however, it was nice to be able to look out at the grounds.

Swimming in the lake at night sounded dangerous but like an adventure! Dymphna nodded, a little apprehensive about it but there was a nervous excitement to her as well. "Sure, that sounds fun. Are you two good at swimming?" She wanted to know in case she needed to keep an eye out for them, in case they needed help getting back on land. "I don't have my swim wear. Um, I could go in my underthings if you don't mind." There was a drying charm that she could use after, it wasn't like her mother was there to scold her for not doing her laundry properly.

As for undressing in front of other kids, it didn't bother her much. She imagined it would be similar to the times she had spontaneously gone swimming with her muggle friends too. Bloom had gone in already so Dymphna left her telescope and wand next to the tree and started to undress.
