Wyatt was mostly to blame for the position he was in now. That position being carried by a gang of Third Year Gryffindor boys headed for the Great Lake. Wyatt recognized the path they were on. This wasn’t the first time he’d gone to the Great Lake. Last time he walked down this path was some time near the end of last school year for peace and quiet. This time, though, he wasn’t going there on purpose.
Apparently it reached these losers that Wyatt had never been thrown into the Great Lake, and they were trying to fix that. Wyatt had seen them throw kids in there before, and he was grateful he was able to skate by without having to do the walk of shame to the Slytherin Common Room, soaking wet and leave puddles all the way there. Wyatt had seen it, and the image never failed to make him sick to his stomach.
Now it was him, though, being tossed into the lake. Some time along the long walk, he’d come to terms with this. With his fate. Well, he knew how to swim, so this wasn’t the last fate he’d come to terms with, but it was still pretty bad. Still, Wyatt accepted it. What were the chances these Gryffindors would take pity on the loudmouth Slytherin they’d been picking on for a bit over a year now? Whatever.
As was previously mentioned, Wyatt was mostly to blame for this. He was sick of being kicked around by these stupid Gryffindors, and he thought that today was going to be the day he’d do something about it. Like, really do something about it, so when he was cornered, he punched the kid closest to him before the kids could do a thing. That gave him enough time to get his wand from his pocket.
To another student, he shouted “FLIPENDO!” Of course, it sent the loser flying and landing on his back. Wyatt smiled at the sight. It was more beautiful than the prettiest sunset. Another student creeped up behind him though, and tried to tackle Wyatt, but the Slytherin saw in time and stepped to the side. The Gryffindor fell flat on his face. A third Gryffindor took a very Gryffindor approach.
He jumped on him from the front, where Wyatt could see him clearly. But Wyatt, expecting the Gryffindors to be smarter with how they beat kids up, didn’t see such a blatant attack coming. He was tackled to the ground, and before you could say “whoops,” he was half way to the Black Lake. So, that wasn’t the most fun situation to be in. It was quite terrible actually. Finally, they reached the lake. Wyatt heard murmurs.
In a whisper, one of the boys said, “Should we do this? We could get in real big trouble.” To which a louder voice replied, “He started the fight, and you know it. Don’t be a sissy, Johnny.” Wyatt sighed. For once in the lousy brute’s life he was right. Wyatt did start the fight, and he deserved this, as punishment. Just like the Gryffindors deserved to be flipendo’d. Still, he didn’t regret what he did.
With that, he was tossed into the cold lake. Wyatt never thought of how cold it would be. Like jumping into an ice bath. Wyatt felt himself tense up from the sudden change of temperature. He couldn’t breathe, why couldn’t he breathe? Oh yeah, underwater, he managed to think. From below the water, he blurrily saw the Gryffindors running away from the scene. Rightfully so. They just dropped a kid into a lake.
Wyatt managed to calm himself down enough to start swimming. Boy, was it cold… cold, cold, cold. It was all he could think about as he kicked himself up to the surface. When he was met with air, he gasped for air like he never breathed before. When he had enough air, he used whatever energy was left to get to shore. It was so much colder when the breeze hit him than when he was in the actual water.
Hell. That’s what this was, right? Cold hell. Like instead of fire… ice. The Slytherin collapsed onto his back, shivering. He made sure he was in the sun, the warm rays were hitting him, but it seemed to be doing nothing. He still shook like a leaf whenever the smallest of breezes hit him. Lazily, he crossed his arms over himself in some sort of hug, hoping it would make him warmer somehow. Anything to be warm again.

Opeila had not planned to go to the lake. Actually, she had avoided it for a bit now, tried not to fall back into old patterns. So she had just wanted to take a nice walk on the grounds and enjoy the still somewhat warm autumn sun.
The coat she wore was not the one Flash gave her for her birthday. It was her grandmother's old one, which had a yellow-ish colour. Everytime the Slytherin lowered her head a little, she smelled her grandmother's perfume on it. Not that Opeila particularly liked her grandmother's perfume, but it made her feel home. Safe. In a way that Flash's coat didn't, although it as well comforted her. Was it weird, that she was affected by clothes depending on the people who gave them to her? Possibly. She didn't care.
Opeila's plans changed, when she heard male voices. She recognized them before they were in sight, enough time for Opeila to get behind a tree. Those boys had a reputation for throwing Slytherins into the lake and them coming out of the lake's direction couldn't be good. Only thinking of how cold the lake had to be made her shiver.
Once the boys were out of sight again, Opeila ran in the lakes direction. Didn't the boys know how dangerous this sort of prank was? Or did they simply want her house dead so badly?
A little breathless she stopped at the edge of the water, looking left and right of her. Were they still in the water? Opeila couldn't really see, the reflection of the sun was too strong. Then she saw the boy, soaked and shivering on his back. "Oh shit...", she muttered and ran over.
"Hey, can you hear me? Give me a sign that you can hear me.", she said loudly and crouched next to him. Quickly she opened the coat and covered the shivering boy with it. "I can help you back to the castle, but you need to help me, I can't carry you." She should get him right to the hospital wing... "How long are you out here?"
A little helplessly she kept talking. People who were about to freeze to death had to be kept awake, right?

Cash was sat down under one of those big tree around the lake. Great Expectations is on their hands and just a few more pages, they done reading the books for the umpteenth time when they heard a murmur from the distance. At first the green eyes girl ignore them. It probably just a group of people hanging out.
Once a while they glance back towards the group of boys and one particular boy catches their eyes. They narrowed their eyes to take a better look on the said boy that was carry by other two much older boys. When they could make out the boy that about to be tossed into the lake, they get up from their position and slightly jog toward the group of boys.
Cash did not care whether the other three boys are older than them. The purple hair girl did not like bullies. Cash took out their wand about to casted a spell but a bit too late as Wyatt had been tossed into the lake by the boys. "Mierda! (shit)"Cash cursed out when the sound of splashed reach their ears.
Cash fasten their pace until they stand near Wyatt and another voice was there. Cash pocketed their wand back. "I can help you back to the castle, but you need to help me, I can't carry you."The other voice belong to one Opeila Winters, their dorm mate. Wyatt body shook like a leaf and Pei keep trying to make Wyatt speak.
Pei asked Wyatt how long did Wyatt been out on the lake with the state he is. "There no time"Cash said to Pei. "By the time we get to the hospital, he could be in much worse condition"Cash stated. Without thinking, Cash open up their oversize zipped up black and red argyle hoodie and wrap it around Wyatt soaking wet and cold body.
Under the hoodie they wore, Cash wears dark green long sleeve thermal top. Usually Cash avoid physical contact and the purple hair girl is not sure whether Wyatt comfortable with physical contact or not but this is life and death situation. Cash then dragged half of Wyatt's body toward their body and just hold him.
They rub Wyatt up and down hoping their body heat will radiate and bring Wyatt back. "Come on, Starkey. Do not make me kick your butt"Cash demands while still rubbing Wyatt up and down warming him up to make his body less shaking from the cold.

After lying there for a bit, Wyatt heard footsteps coming nearer. "Hey, can you hear me? Give me a sign that you can hear me." Wyatt rolled his eyes. It was already bad that he was thrown into a freezing cold lake and now some girl was pitying him. Was that water was just magically freezing all the time? “I’m c- cold, not dying.” Then he coughed up a gallon of water. In some way, this girl was familiar.
This was the girl the mini-brat Tone spilled water on. So both times they interacted, they were soaked. Wyatt could’ve laughed if he wasn’t so cold. "I can help you back to the castle, but you need to help me, I can't carry you." What a sight that would be. “I’m sure I’ll-” more coughing… “be okay.” Maybe he wasn’t perfectly fine, but he would survive. He ran a hand through his hair: An attempt to look slightly less awful.
The girl asked how long he’d been out there, and someone else replied for him. What? When did someone else get there? Maybe Wyatt wasn’t in the best shape, but if he even were to think about the possibility of being wrong, the last person he’d admit being wrong to was himself. He felt himself get wrapped in another coat. All this pity was just salt in the wound. Wyatt wanted to disappear. Then, the new kid brought him close.
A hug? Really? The kid rubbed his arms through the coats and Wyatt would be lying if he said it wasn’t helping. Too bad he was a liar, and was willing to do anything to hold onto what was left of his dignity. Unfortunately, Wyatt was exhausted. Getting in a fight before getting dumped in a freezing cold lake and having to kick your way to the surface does that to a person, doesn’t it? "Come on, Starkey. Do not make me kick your butt."
“I’m f- f- fine… I don’t n- need… help,” he grit out angrily between breaths. He notice his stutter, and hoped the kids would just think it was from the cold. He squirmed out of the other student’s clutches and fell to the ground. After that, though, he stumbled to his feet. Though he was still shaking, he managed to stay standing. He was feeling incredibly light-headed and he couldn’t tell from his point of view, but he looked very pale.
When he saw them, he recognized the new kid right away. They were Alec’s fiancée, Cassandra Ironwoods. Wyatt looked down at both of the discarded jackets on the ground then up at his peers who came to help him. “I’m alive, s- see?” Wyatt then coughed up more water into his arm, and that was enough to make him lose balance, making him trip on air and fall to his knees. He sighed.

Alec was getting ahead on his studies. He decided this year it might be a good idea. You know, get some good grades, and for the most part try to stay out of trouble, and if you're involved in any don't get caught, you don't need any trouble with your parents right now. And so those were Alec's sort of goals for the year, get good grades, and stay out of trouble. They were easy enough.
But that did remind Alec he still had to check out that one spell Leo had been owling him about earlier. And so Alec here Alec was with a 'Book Of Spells' that surprisingly actually being what it was called. Honestly, Alec had to give credit to muggles their creativity shown best in the naming things business. But while reading and walking [Something Alec probably shouldn't have been doing] he ended up finding his way to the great lake. Not a fond place for Alec ever since his shoes had ended up getting thrown into the water.
By this time Alec had only realized he was skimming the book because he was distracted, by well.. The lake, obviously. Alec sighed, closing the book and putting it into the satchel he had with him. At the very least he could enjoy some peace he- "I’m alive, s- see?" Alec heard the one and only Wyatt Starkey say. Alec had been too distracted to realize what had been going on a bit away from him. But it seems Wyatt's voice had caught Alec off guard, tearing through his train of thought and throwing it all down the drain. What did he mean by 'I'm alive, see?' of course he was, why that- Alec just turn around and figure out what's going on for yourself. Well, at least he had some voice of reason in his head.. Even if it was his thoughts. And so of course Alec turned around.
And there Wyatt was, coughing up water on the ground. Was he okay? It was Alec's first thought, but of course he wasn't going to run up to Wyatt overreacting and yelling 'Are you okay?'. That wouldn't help, it'd make Alec look like a fool, and it'd just show recent developments of the summer, and how Alec actually cared if the boy was hurt. And Alec was being a bit prideful and honestly just wanted to put up the act of that he didn't care at all. Or that he just didn't notice what was going on. Eventually, though, Alec made his way over to the three. Once he finally got there, he avoided the gaze of the girl he'd never met. He wasn't in favor of meeting anybody new, and that was also another long story. Alec was fidgeting with his fingers behind his back while thinking before he finally cleared his throat and straightened his posture. Sadly, he hadn't grown much since last year.
He looked at Cash and the girl. "I- u-um.. W-wanted to make sure W-wyatt was okay" Alec explained mumbling it as he looked away digging his shoe into the dirt. It felt weird to say something like that, especially at Hogwarts. The same Hogwarts where the two had gotten into a short fight.. Looks like Alec was going to have to get used to it.. Alec gaze slowly fell back on Wyatt catching his eye hoping Wyatt would actually realize that Alec was just asking Wyatt if he was okay. He wanted to ask Wyatt what happened too but that would be saved for later, seeing if the boy was alright first was top priority right now, and would be till he got his answer.

Alec and Wyatt were on good terms (or so he assumed), but Alec J. Mason might’ve been the person Wyatt wanted to see the least right now. It wasn’t that Wyatt hated Alec or anything, but he sort of felt bad. After having to deal with the Slytherin for an entire summer, Wyatt didn’t want Alec to have to be involved in his life at school. Maybe he assumed they wouldn’t have to see each other ever again. Well, with Alec having a multitude of blackmail he could whip out at any moment to ruin Wyatt’s “dark wizard” reputation and everything.
Wyatt caught his breath as he was down on his knees. He felt like he was going to throw up. Was that natural for someone who almost drowned? Probably, he thought. Whether it was natural or not, it didn’t feel too great, but Wyatt did his best to hold it down. He wasn’t planning on throwing up all over the people trying to help him. That would only make them pity him more, though it might drive them away… no… that’s gross. Wanting to show just how fine he was, Wyatt gathered up all of his strength and stood up.
As soon as he was standing, he turned and faced Alec, his fists clenched. “Wyatt is fine,” he said through his teeth, and effort to get them to stop chattering. He was sickly pale (almost blue), dripping with water, shivering slightly, and was just coughing up water… like, five seconds ago. The Snake was also breathing rather heavily. He was grateful he was actually able to breathe again. He was already seen getting dumped into the lake like a ragdoll. Rejecting everyone’s help made him feel like he had some control left. Some power, maybe.

Pericles filled his lungs with the outdoor air, sides swelling with a deep breath. Today marked his first patrol around the lake, his favorite station of all. It was almost always tranquil, serene even, and the ideal opportunity for him to sneak a jog into his schedule. A soothing stroll was broken by the distinct sound of a great splash. He halted on the spot, whipping around with wide searching eyes. Far up ahead, around a bend of water, he saw the distant signs of rippling water and a trio of unidentifiable students sprinting back towards the school. The second-year snapped from his sleepy state and took off with unprecedented speed.@Wyatt Starkey @Opeila Winters @Cassandra Ironwoods @Alec Mason
Pericles was a gentle prefect. His stare seemed always lidded, listless, glazed by daydream. The young wizard wafted from place to place like a sleepwalking ghost, all gentle smiles and an airy voice. He had not handed out a single detention since he joined the student staff last April, often opting for warnings instead, but then: he had never encountered any especially severe situations. Nothing quite like this. The boots beneath his robes barely seemed to make contact with the earth. He sprang off the balls of his feet, hands slicing air, the recent months spent exercising evident with the trained way he ran. Time and again he glanced from the path ahead to the spot in which he had seen the ripples. What were they thinking? What if the student couldn't swim? What if he didn't get there in time...? Needless to say, certain events during his career last year had rendered Pericles protective, desperate not to let another student be harmed under his watch. Relief flooded him when he saw others flocking to the spot, though he did not slow until he reached them.
"Excuse me." The words were breathed, but bold, an exceedingly rare firmness to his tone. Pericles' tidy ivory hair was now wild with wind, eyes uncharacteristically steely and present. He no longer shied from wearing his prefect badge front and center where it belonged. His words were meant for they three who had gathered to help, and should he catch any of their stares, he would give an appreciative nod while trying to slide past and reach the dripping blue boy. He looked to be in an awful state, shrugging off the girl who tried to warm him then tumbling to the ground, and it was immediately apparent that he didn't intend to make aiding him easy. "Let me help, please," Pericles insisted, whipping his wand from a pocket. In complete contrast to his typically accommodating demeanor, the words sounded less like a request. Unless Wyatt outright refused, he would wave the aspen in a complex little swirl, incanting "Aer Calidus!" The Hot Air Charm was perfect for drying and seemed outright necessary in this situation. The prefect had honed his intent: the breeze was not so hot as to put the boy into a shock, but warm and strong enough to strike the water from fabric and bring his body temperature back up to something appropriate.

The boy told her that he was cold and not dying- and then coughed up some water. "Yeah, you wanna try that again?", she asked with a sarcastic tone, shaking her head. Then Cassandra, one of her dormmates showed up, taking over. Thank god. She had been fine helping Evelynn Decipio with her burns last year, but this overwhelmed the second year a little.
Cassandra wrapped her hoodie around the boy as well and started to rub him up and down. "Stop talking, yeah?", Opeila told him when he said that he didn't need any help. "You do need help and yo do need to save your energy."
Another boy joined the trio, saying that he just wanted to make sure that Wyatt was okay. "He'll be fine.", Opeila answered. "You don't happen to know a warming up spell?"
And then there was another one she didn't know, her cousin, a Ravenclaw prefect. Who thankfully did know a spell to warm her housemate up. Opeila sent him a quick thankful smile.
She should ask him about that spell sometime, it seemed like one that was useful to know.
The Slytherin got off her knees and the cold ground and brushed some dirt of her clothes. Jesus, she was cold out here- maybe because she just gave that boy her coat and only wore her school uniform under- but how bad must it be after being thrown in the lake??

Paisley always missed the interesting happenings about the school. This time she had been sitting there, reading a book she had picked at random in the library, when a student had gotten thrown into the great lake and she didn't notice. She had just glanced up from her book.
Whatever. she shrugged her shoulders carelessly, and got back to what she was doing. A few moments later, a student came rushing down to what appeared to be a student laying in the dirt. How did that student get there? Seriously, what is going on? What did I miss? she wondered, but looked back down to her book, trying to find her spot again. It was none of her business anyways; students did a lot of strange things she paid no attention to. She would ignore this just as she had ignored the other instances.
When another student came over, she sighed dejectedly. But when the third and fourth students went to go help the flopping fish on the ground, Paisley knew she had to do something other than just sit there, watching like an idiot. She couldn't stand it anymore; her curiosity had gotten the best of her.
With a neglected sigh she stood up, brushing off her robes and walking over, her book underneath her arm. She had the foreshadowed feeling she was entering something much more serious than she thought, and her steps were stiff; filled with apprehension. Her finger was still tucked into her book so as to save her spot, and it shook within the pages. She really should just mind her own business. She was far too worried about whatever was going on. Surely the students already over there could handle it? Then she gasped.
Oh gosh, why couldn't I have stayed reading? she asked herself as she saw something else happen, this seemingly more serious. The boy appeared to be coughing up water, and she turned away. Did he fall in the lake? Paisley asked herself.
She jogged up to the scene and gulped. The boy definitely didn't look okay. She arrived just in time to hear the words, "Let me help, please,"
"Oh gosh, what happened?" she asked, her voice coming out in a soft whisper of a tone, so quiet that it probably went unheard. She glanced down at the student on the ground and then back up. Is he dead? and then, don't be an idiot! She watched the rest of the scene carefully, fidgeting nervously. She didn't do well at times like this. Not in the slightest.

May hadn't always enjoyed the Great Lake. Once last year, she had almost taken her first detention there, and the thought of the lake in these times troubled May, thought now, it is the only place where she would enjoy her solitude company. She scketched in her scketchbook, her lines carefully playing on the parchment, trying to draw the big lake that at that moment was the most beautiful place May had ever seen. But then-
A splash. May looked up, and saw so,embody come out from the waters not far away. What the actual-
Just for good measure, she went to see what had happened, trying to peek through the openings of the group of people, but then she saw two-no, three- figures she knew too well:
1) Wyatt Strakey, a nice boy she had met last year. He had comforted the small Hufflepuff when her mother was sick, having experienced what it felt to have a dead mother; 2) Pericles Dralt. A nice, she had to admit, prefect of Ravenclaw, and of course, one of the three prefects that had seen her and a few other Gryffindor friends causing trouble not far away from here; 3) Opeila Seliun, a nice girl she had met last year too, thought they had only met briefly. But her eyes were only on the soaked boy. "Wyatt! What the actual hell happened to you! You're soaking from head to-" but before she could do anything about it herself, Pericles had warmed him up. Well done, the Hufflepuff thought, next spell on my list.
Then, it seemed like another girl had arrived [Painsley]. Of course, May now fell over protective of him [Wyatt] and snapped at her (a little rudely) "Oh he's just fine. Just had a little bath in the lake, that's all. No need to panick people, I'm sure it was just a accident!"
But of course, it was not a accident. Wyatt, May knew, wouldn't take a bath in the freezing lake on purpose.
