There was a fresh breeze floating through the air as she made her way down to the Great Lake. It was a solitary activity she had taken up as the warm weather returned and filled her heart with a comfort that she had missed since the cold winter had began. Her art had always been focused on plants and greenery, but she wanted to start expanding it to other forces of nature. Such as a lake. Capturing the rippling of the water had always been a challenge, the way the light uniquely reflects the surface had her completely stumped on where to go.
She sat on the waters edge, dropping something in the water in different ways to see how the water shifted and reacted. A well worn sketchbook laid to her side, open to the current page she was working on with various beginning outlines starting and stopping. A muggle pencil laid in the center, there really was nothing quite like the scratch of a good 'ol reliable pencil. Quills sometimes were just especially hard to draw with since she still hadn't quite mastered the use of ink. The journal was full of all of her art she had done throughout the past couple months, she went through them quite quickly. Pages full of incredibly lifelike greenery and abstract self-portraits that she had only dared let one person look at.
She was protective of her art, as she usually poured her heart into every piece that she did. It was her own momentary lapse of judgement and fascination with the water movements that left her sketchbook as open and vulnerable as it was.

Luckily Jack had been able to find some time on that Thursday afternoon. Usually, he would have been confined in the Hufflepuff common room, attempting to do anything besides his homework. Luckily or unluckily, depending on the perspective, Jack was back out around the lake. Once again, he was sleuthing around for the hidden unknowns of this magical school. The boy was out of his Hufflepuff robes and instead found with a black t-shirt with tan khaki shorts, with a pair of converse and an American baseball cap worn backward atop his head. A hand-sized red leather-bound journal rested in his back pocket. Occasionally he'd pat it light to make sure he had safely secured it in his pocket.
Sadly, today he had not found anything in his search for secrets and glory. His excellent mood quickly soured with the lack of any mysteries, which was severely disappointing. The trudge back to Hogwarts' main campus was a time consuming one, but thankfully it was such a pleasant day!
However, something had caught his eye. SomeOne, to be more specific, had caught his eye. Jack felt like she had looked familiar- he had seen her around. The girl has caught his interest, but there was something even more interesting resting beside her. Was that her journal? He wondered what was inside it? Was it like his? What if it contained some wonderful secrets?
Like a creeping panther, Jack crouched down slightly and began to slowly and carefully slinked closer. Mr. Warren was a shadow in the night, a tiger in the brush, a predator on the prowl. Within a matter of moments, Jack had closed the gap between the two of them. With an outstretched arm, he took hold of the unattended journal. "Now, what do we have here?" He emphatically asked as he stood straight and opened the journal to a random page. There was half the hope that he would spook the girl straight into the lake!

Usually she had her wits about her, especially when she was alone by the Great Lake. Nature was too fascinating and good to her that she let all of her walls and defenses down, complete distraction in awe of the world around her. It wasn't abnormal for her. It was also becoming increasingly normal for her to be disturbed in the peace of the world around her, by rude boys. She found herself surrounded with them somehow, and also equally grossed out by them. Ah, the curse of being as cute and charming as she was.
She was viciously snapped down out of her thoughts as she heard the boy talk. She nearly jumped out of her skin. How had he approached so quietly? She took a few seconds to assess what had happened. There was a boy from an unknown house, holding... her journal. Her heart dropped and she jumped up to try and grab it, but the giant boy only had to lift it slightly higher to take it out of her reach. "What we have here, is a major invasion of privacy. Now give it back!" She paused, trying to seem as intimidating as she could as 129cm girl that often emulated the energy of a bunny.
It didn't help that she was wearing shorts with daisies on them and had baby's breath tucked behind her ear. She didn't exactly scream intimidating. Her next words came out more like a question, rather than a statement. "Or else?" Truthfully she had no idea what she was doing, she wasn't exactly someone that would stand up for herself often. Especially not when she didn't know what she was up against, she had no idea how old this kid was, or even what house he was in. Even though he looked like someone she had seen in the Hufflepuff common room, she didn't believe a Hufflepuff would do something like this. She held her hand out defiantly, expecting him to plop the journal right back in her hand.

@Willow AndersonA devilish grin couldn't help but mar the face of the boy, as he looked to the page that he had pulled open. "What we have here is a major invasion of privacy. Now Give it back!" He could hear her indignantly demand. Which obviously was a ridiculous request!
His attention quickly drew back to subtle grey and blue palate of the artwork on the page. For a moment, surprise flashed across his face. He was expecting something with hearts around a boy's name or something super girly, but no. That was not what he found on that page—a portrait of a girl. She had depicted this girl with a circular circlet of sprigs wreathed in flame. The reddish-orange licked up towards the top of the page. The thing that struck him most was the blue flowers- She wept blue flowers. His observation cutaway as he heard her very half-hearted "Or else?", which was much closer to a hopeful question than an intimidating demand.
Glancing down at her open palm, Jack let out a mockingly loud laugh, "Ha! Don't think so, shorty." He paused, glancing back at the page, "Is this supposed to be somebody? Why is her head on fire? Is it to hide the fact that her head is shaped like a football?" In all honesty, Jack didn't mean his word, but his lack of success in today's adventure had left him in a rather terrible mood. Grabbing the sheet, he turned it sideways by the single leaf of paper. Jack made sure to make a spectacle of looking at it in a mockingly, inquisitive manner.

So, it was obvious that her intimidation factor wasn't exactly working. She couldn't say she was surprised, she was a walking, talking, advertisement of please come and mess with me. Maybe she could ask Flash or Ruka had to be more intimidating... They seemed to have a pretty good handle on that.
Her hand snapped closed as the boy asked about her picture, and she reeled back knowing exactly what picture he was talking about. It's one she did right about come back to Hogwarts from winter break, probably her most vulnerable art that could even be in there and he flipped right to it. She hadn't punched a lot of people, just two, and she wasn't exactly proud about it. This seemed justified, she thought that Flash might be proud of her for sticking up for herself like this.
Her eyes alighted with an anger that had only been seen by a couple of people in her life and it wasn't exactly a great thing to be the target of. Though she is little, she be but a fierce firecracker. The combination of calling her short, which she was but no need to point it out, and insulting one of her most emotional pieces of art wasn't a great combo. She closed her eyes and swung her right arm, hoping to hit him square in the stomach to keel over.
There was no impact.
He was quicker than she was and had moved before she was even able to hit him. She let out a sound of frustration and turned to face him square on again. "Who even are you to just walk up and take people's things! Which freaking house are you even in, obviously not Hufflepuff. I bet you're in Gryffindor or something." She couldn't believe the audacity of this guy, and she didn't want him seeing anything else. "Just give me back my journal! I worked really hard on that stuff." She almost wanted to just try and climb up and grab him. If there was anything she was good at, it was climbing trees. How could a person be that much different? But she decided to hold off on that.

That girl didn't even give him the time before she was already swinging at him! Thank god that dodging was instinctual to him at that point. There was more powerful than he expected, but she was just too slow. He had spent most of his young life dodging punches. Jack could imagine his mates back in Dublin poking fun at him for getting punched by a girl!

People had always misjudged him because he was a Hufflepuff. There was a tremendous sense of enjoyment being this houseless enigma. The look of shock when he broke the news was still so delightful. "Now, you're gonna have to try harder than that!" He laughed, "Plus, you should eat your words; your boy is Huffle through and through. Those eejit's in Gryffindor couldn't handle me!" He puffed out his chest, proud like a lion badger.
Stepping a couple of feet away from his Hufflepuff housemate, before turning his attention back to the book- "Let's take a look at what else we have in here." It was time to get fire flying from this firecracker

She physically recoiled back when this boy mentioned that he was in Hufflepuff. There was no way. He embodied nothing of what the house stood for, at least not what she saw. "What did the sorting hat see in you to even choose you for Hufflepuff? Currently all I see is a bully, and we don't really like those from my experience." She held a mighty sore spot in her heart for bullies because of how cruelly she was bullied as a kid. She wasn't going to let this be the same situation.
She started to circle him, and noticed that he was too distracted with her magnificent art to follow her. Then her eyes locked onto a journal in his back pocket, he really just left that weakness right out there. When he seemed most distracted she went to grab it, but once again he caught on and moved out of the way before she could snag it out. Not that she would look in it, but it would have at least given her some leverage.
A low growl, as low as an eleven year old girl can get, emerged from Willow, and she stomped her foot. Truly, an intimidating fit. "What is wrong with you, just give it back!" Suddenly her heart was pained with a familiar helplessness that she had found herself in many times. This was different though, she was stronger willed now and she wasn't going to let herself be taken advantage of by some weird string bean.
She ran at his back again, except this time she didn't go for the journal. She leaped and wrapped her arms around him like a feisty koala and started climbing him like the trees she was used to back home. Her grip would be iron tight, and maybe a little bit painful for Jack to make sure that he couldn't swing her off. She was moving to get wrapped around his shoulders as if she was piggy backing him to try and manipulate his arms to get her journal back. If that didn't work, she would just squeeze the air out of him until he dropped it. She's been told before that she has powerful hugs, as most Hufflepuffs did.

She called him a bully! He wasn't a bully! Jack was just playing around, and she was taking this whole journal thing waaaaay too hard.
"Hey! I'm not even close to a bully." The boy attempted to reply before, much like a grasshopper; he had to jump aside. To Jack, it just looked like she had tried to knock him again, and like a writhing snake, he twisted his body to elude her once again. "Come on- If you're going to hit me, you have to work harder than that!" He joked, clearly showing that he hadn't even thought of the journal in his back pocket.
"What is wrong with you, just give it back!" She complained miserably. It almost sounded like a kicked dog yelping to the poor boy. It felt like somebody was trying to assault his poor eardrums.
He peeped back at her notebook and casually flipped to the front cover. Eureka! He had found something else that seemed rather fun! A name! "Willow Ander-Gah!" the words were cut short as a tiny ball of rage slammed into his back, and arms wrapped around his neck! Was there a boa constrictor that just flopped on his back!
Several stumbling steps were taken as Jack tried to keep his feet. Swaying to and fro, the might Jack couldn't stay upright! With a "Woah!" here and "ack" there, it was rather amusing to see the boy struggle so. How in the world was Willow able to hold on as Jack bucked wildly like a bronco!? Somebody should have yelled timber because Jack's roots had finally given out. He didn't even have the opportunity to catch himself, because he was so concerned about the girl that was choking him from behind. Pile driving his face directly into the lakeside earth, the journal Jack had been holding hostage was promptly forgotten. The book skid across the grass slowly slid to a halt roughly five feet away from the wrestling couple.

Her arms locked in as the other Huffle boy tried to throw her off. She made sure not to choke him as she really didn't need a detention from suffocating a housemate, but she kept a strong grip nonetheless. The training that she did over her childhood of climbing trees during any weather condition made this an easy ability for her, he was just a really windy tree. Holding her drawing journal. Being a jerk. Usually trees weren't jerks.
She didn't even realize that he was starting to go down until it was too late and her head crashed against the back of his, bruising her nose in the process. She already felt a major headache coming on. She rolled off of his back clutching her head and groaning in pain before remembering why she had climbed him in the first place. She quickly sat up looking around where they had landed before focusing in on where the journal had skidded to. Despite feeling extremely dizzy from moving her head so fast she crawled over to where the journal was and clutched it in her arms as if it was essential to her living. Her eyes zeroed in on his, a scathing glare shooting daggers at him. "If you didn't take this in the first place, neither of us would be leaving here with possible concussions." Luckily she had salves that worked wonders for headaches in her dorm, and quickly her mood turned soft when she realized how much pain he was going to be in from landing face first into the ground. Especially when she was the one who caused it.
Slowly she sat up again, now adamantly refusing to look him in his eyes. "I uh... have stuff in my dorm. To get rid of the headache I mean, and some to help your face not hurt so much from falling for me." She huffed, moving to look back out towards the water. Her water study would be cut short because of this incident, but the Great Lake wasn't going anywhere.

@Willow AndersonPain. That's all he could feel of his face. The poor boy didn't even realize he was falling until the ground met with him. Both sides of his head ached with a dull throbbing. Did she have to ram her head into his so forcefully? With a sluggishly slow hand, Jack rubbed at the knot that was forming on the back of his head. A groan escaped his lips before the toy-sized monkey girl rolled off his back. Never in a million years had he expected to get bulldozed by such a little pipsqueak.
How dare she say that them knocking heads was his fault! "What? You were the one that decided to jump on me, like a dancing monkey from hell-" Jack couldn't sound that angry, because he really wasn't. This whole situation was the outcome of his buttheadery.
Willow continued to tell him about how she had some sort of remedy for a busted nose and a bruised head. She hadn't even looked at him since she had retrieved her 'borrowed' journal. Jack huffed out a sigh but nodded. "As long as your stuff will work." He touched at his tender nose.
"Look... I'm sorry- I think I might have been in the wrong here..." The words were hard to get out, but that was just about the closest Willow would get as an apology.
