Anastasia frowned at the girl's stuttering. Excellent, she'd start her journey with a stuttering mess. Still, patience was supposedly a virtue, so it wouldn't hurt to be a little patient for the moment. She smiled a little when she received the compliment on her name. It was a compliment, even if it wasn't exactly something Anastasia had any influence over. She wasn't about to be nasty to someone she had to put up with for the next ten minutes or so with.

"Oh, Slytherin, obviously, it's the only acceptable house," Anastasia snorted. It was hardly even a question. Slytherin was by far the best house. The only other potentially acceptable house was Ravenclaw, but that was really a rather weak second. Hufflepuff was disgraceful, as it meant you had no measurable talent, but worst of all was Gryffindor. Gryffindor that was cultish and incredibly violent. That was what her parents had always said anyway. Anastasia had learned a long, long, long time ago that Mother and Father were always right. Always. It didn't matter if they were technically wrong. They were always right.

Anastasia pressed her lips together when the other girl said she wanted Gryffindor. Of bloody course she did. Anastasia was seriously considering tipping the boat over just so she wouldn't have to continue this conversation. That wouldn't do though. She could hardly show up for her sorting dripping wet.

"I suppose if the house that's known to have exactly zero impulse control is your type of thing, then more power to you," Anastasia said pleasantly, her voice not matching her words in the slightest. She supposed she could have been a tad more diplomatic about it, but she frankly didn't care to. If this girl was really planning on being a Gryffindor of all things, then she wasn't worth any more of Anastasia's time.

The house with zero impulse control?!She looked at Anatasia momentarily lost for words as she tried to contain herself. Clearly, she had severely underestimated where this converstation would be going. So, she wanted Slytherin, she restrained herself from snapping back a retort. After all, she wasn't one to go around starting fights. Elena wondered if the boat ride would even be peaceful at all. At worst, both of them would wind up in the lake having had enough of each other but she dismissed that thought. She gave the girl a slight smile knowing her next words would probably tick her off but then again, but she was tired of all the negative energy that was pouring out from this person, it was time to fix that."That's a bit harsh, don't you think? After all, we're placed in our respective houses based on our characters so if you're saying e-everyone in Gryffindor is a bit loony....well, all houses have t-their ups and downs, no?"Damn it, there was that stuttering again. Why couldn't she hold a converstation like a proper human being. The other girl was probably sick of it."Sorry."She added quickly focusing on the other boats."I-I don't want to sound too abrasive or anything."

Inside, though, she felt a urge to wipe that pleasant expression off the girl's face. It was like a wolf in disguise. They said one thing but meant something totally different. She directed her attention back at the female thinking up possible names to call the girl. Her first interaction with someone and it could possibly turn into them being foes for life, how lovely.Good freaking job, Elena. She told herself sighing inwardly."So, any classes you're looking forward to?"She suddenly asked keen to change the subject. Surely, that was a safe topic without going at each others throats. Clearly, to this girl, Houses was a touchy subject and she was quite adamant about which one she wanted to be Sorted into. Elena tried to imagine her reaction if she didn't get her desired house and smiled at the thought.

Anastasia scowled at the girl's reply. Smashing. Not only was her boating buddy a stuttering mess, but she was also a wannabe lion. Without even bothering to converse any farther, Anastasia knew that this was not the kind of person she would spend time and effort befriending. It just wouldn't make sense. The stuttering thing could be overlooked if they share the same values, but since this girl didn't even mention Slytherin as a consideration, they clearly weren't going to get on very well. Not everyone could be a Slytherin, but they should at least want to be one. Slytherin had something of a reputation for being the "evil" house, but Anastasia thought that that was just a bunch of nonsense. So what if Slytherin had a higher than average number of morally questionable witches and wizards? It really wasn't that many more than the other houses did, just more recent.

"It's really not all that harsh if I'm just stating the facts," Anastasia laughed. Everyone knew that Gryffindors were impulsive and wild, the same way everyone knew the brightest wizards and witches usually came from Ravenclaw. Perhaps there was a bit of bias on her side, considering her house preferences, but that didn't mean she was wrong. Truth be told, Anastasia was rarely wrong, which other children found rather irritating at times.

"Obviously, everyone in Gryffindor is a bit loony, the house's biggest trait is bravery, which, in a bunch of school children, translates to zero impulse control and a bit of a hero complex," Anastasia said as though it was common sense and something anyone would believe. She had never even considered anything different. Alright, maybe she had daydreamed about it when she was younger, but her parents had fiercely scolded her, so she tried her very best to look at things the way her parents did.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes when the other girl apologized. Being abrasive wasn't necessarily a bad thing if one was confident in their convictions and stuck with it. In essence, not what this girl had just done. Anastasia pressed her lips together before smiling tightly and mentally resolved to just make it through this boat ride. After that, she probably would almost never have to speak to this wannabe Gryffindor ever again.

Anastasia was fine with the sudden change of subject since she did not, in fact, want to spend the entire boat ride bickering about something utterly pointless. She was also always glad to get to show off her knowledge and pretty much inform Elena that she was going to be the very best at all of their classes and Elena needn't even try to outdo her. "Oh, I'm quite looking forward to all of them. I'd have to say I'm most excited for either Charms, Potions, or Transfiguration. History of Magic looks interesting as well, at least the textbook did when I read it, but then again, a ghost was able to teach it for years, so it can't be too riveting. What about you? Anything in particular that you're looking forward to?" Anastasia said conversationally, as though reading your entire textbook mulitple times before school even began was perfectly normal behavior. Like many of the rather strange things Anastasia said and did, it was normal in her family.

A first year entrance. Oh how long Abby had waited to here those words. Not long but still. Her fingers were shaking. When the same girl that was on the train ride said "Everyone says that the entrance is the most magical thing ever but my Pa says it just a bunch of wishy washy."
Abby being a muggle-born and all didn't reply. This was the moment she was waiting for. " Finally I am with the people I belong with."

Even though Abby was filled with excitement she was filled with worry. Thinking about her father. How will she live without seeing him for months at a time. Since her mum was gone she though her father would be quite lonely.

The boats awaited. She stepped on not caring that a boat was rowing itself. She was gazing at hogwarts. I will be living here. Never never in her life would she had thought she would be learning magic in a castle.
Walking up those first steps were like the first man on the moon. She was on a different planet.

"I want to be in slytherin,"
"I want to be in ravenclaw."
"gryffindor is the one for me."

It seemed that nobody really wanted hufflepuff. That was the house that seemed the most pleasing. It seemed to fit my personality and my hobbies. We walked into the great hall.
She stood anxiously waiting for her name to be called to be sorted.

Okay, she was starting to get negative energy off this person and she didn't like. Sure, she was doing her best to brush it off but the girl had a way of getting her point across and not in the most kindest manner as well. Every fiber of her body urged her to lean over and give the first-year a good wallop or two but wiser heads prevailed. After all, they had not even been sorted yet, who knew, people could change with time but right now, she was wondering how much longer this boat was going to stay afloat. Hopefully, until they reached the castle. Speaking of which, she glanced out over the lake towards the school which glimmered in the distance with all the lights and whatnot, they were close but quite not there. She would have to endure this converstation for another 5 minutes or so, she presumed. My luck just has to be this rotten, does it. A potential Slytherin and Gryffindor in a boat together, what could possibly go wrong? She thought to herself sarcastically.

Of course, much to her relief, the topic of discussion shifted to academics and studies away from the volatile subject of Sorting. Of course, this did nothing to ease the tension in her opinion. She still maintained her attitude and Elena was finding it quite rough to keep this converstation going. She kept silent for a while simply nodding as Anatasia rambled on about the classes and textbooks and what not offering a shrug in response when asked about her expectations."Well, most probabaly Defense Against The Dark Arts. I tend to lean towards the hands-on and practical stuff more than pouring over every word in a dusty, old textbook."She said in a light tone attempting to insert some humour into the boat ride. Was this girl going to condone her choice of classes as well then? She was half-expecting it, why was her luck so rotten?"After all, its one of the necessary classes needed for an Auror, I'd like to go into the field after my time here."She added smiling for what seemed like the first time she had stepped on the boat. Well, the stuttering had stopped, imagine that. Perhaps she was getting too much into this converstation? Time would tell.

The train ride had been long and she was glad to be able to stretch her legs finally . As she stepped off the train she was ushered t the side and they were instructed to leave their belongings. She wasn't too fond of the idea, because she knew how long mum and dad had saved to buy her all her stuff but she didn't want to argue.

She followed the rest of the first years to the boats on the great black lake. Though she was a good swimmer she was very nervous. She had heard that there lived a giant squid in the waters of the lake. Hesitantly she got into one of the boats and as soon as it was filled it seemed to move forward as if by its own volition.

The Castle was a beautiful sight. The silhouette was stunning and the closer they got the more it enthralled her. Slowly her nerves started to turn into excitement and become less anxiety ridden. She just wanted to be happy. The dreams of late had been robbing her of her sleep and she hoped that in the new setting that maybe she would be able to get better rest.

Alex couldn't stop thinking about his brothers' "advice" to him as he left the train. "Whatever you do, don't fall in the lake!" He had asked why, but they only gave cryptic warnings about sea monsters or some other aggressive magical sea creature.

To be honest, Alex was looking forward to learning more about magical creatures than almost anything else at Hogwarts. If he got eaten before he arrived though, that probably wouldn't work out terribly well.

Alex gingerly stepped into a small boat with a short-haired girl. They didn't say much as they started off into the lake, but she was smiling up at the castle.

"It's beautiful, right? At least it keeps my eyes off of the lake. My brothers told me there was a sea monster, and I'm only half-sure they were joking."

Maybe that wasn't the best way to start talking to his fellow first years? Most of Alex's friends had been Muggles though, so he wasn't really sure what to say to a fellow Witch or Wizard his age.

"Er, I'm sure we'll be fine. As long as we don't fall in!" Hmm, that wasn't really much better, was it? These boats looked pretty stable though. And they were enchanted, right?

Cecilia hurrily tries to change into his school robes as the train seems to has stopped. No one warned him about the stop, he sigh, the group of pupils he sat with weren’t at all, ‘nice”. They kept troll him because of his blindness throughout the trip. Reaching out for his cane, he started to follow other students voices difficutly to get out of the train.
A really loud voice startled him as he walking out of the train “"Attention all First Years! Please follow me!” . “Finally” he thought to himself and walk toward the voice, the smell of the students, the train, the dirt and trees kinda overwhelmed him. And the noise? It’s kinda messing with his head right now.
It’s really difficult for him to walk around a bunch of students, but he didn’t asks for help because he thought it would really annoys people. As he was finding his way, he heard whispers, some showed annoyance because  he bumped into them, some showed sympathy as they realized his disability… None of it is helping him now and he’s kinda.. stumbled upon a root that just annoyingly happens to be there.
“Ounch…” He groaned. If this is a magical school, there should be something to helps him with these little annoying things…

Lallie hopped off the train excited as ever to be attending Hogwarts. She couldn't wait to see the amazing view of the grounds from the Great Lake. She looked around and started to become curious of what to do. Then she heard the voice ringing out "Attention all First Years! Please follow me!” She looked at where the voice was coming from and spotted a pretty looking young lady with her wand to her mouth speaking out to the students. Perfect! she thought as she skipped towards her.

She stopped in her tracks as she saw a young boy trip over a root. She rushed over to him and helped him up. Her eyes gazed into his and she saw the cloudiness in them. She had a friend back in Manchester who was completely blind in her right eye and slightly in her left and he made her think of him. Her friend, Brynn, was a lovely girl, and great friend. They would always stroll around the park together and just talk. She was a wizard born like her, but she went to Durmstrang Institute instead. She realized she was lost in thought and turned back to the boy. "Are you ok?" She asked worriedly.

"You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again. Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now."

"Huh!" Cecilia jerked his head up and yelped in surprise when someone touched his arm, the overwhelm noise of students and the new wound makes him distracted, therefore, didn't realize that a girl with a gentle grip had come to help him get up. Leaning on the cane to stables his standing.

“ Thank you, uh mister…” He hesitated because he didn’t know who the stranger was, boy or girl. Also he has always been a social awkward person, and this person? He didn’t know any basic information to even say thanks (exept for their nice floral scent of trees, dirt and flower) and he or she just stayed quiet or lost in thought, he does it sometimes too, just forget everything and then bumps into something in the process.

"Are you ok?" the girl asked, with a worry tone, he hoped that no pity in it though.
“Yes, I’m fine” He smiled, this girl (now he finally knows) seems to be a good person “Thank you for the help, Miss …?” Cecilia asked
