Hogwarts Explorers Club-First Meeting! Club

The boy politely smiled back to the girl named River. She had a red curly hair, which made a fine contrast to her blue eyes. Her dimples were showing as she was smiling and…

“You called the squid, John?”

A boy suddenly asked Arc with a little laugh, cutting off his musing. The kid’s name was Ruka, but he couldn’t be sure about that. Arc had heard other people called him so, but they hadn’t properly introduced each other.

“Ah, yeah. My big brother does. So, I guess I do, too,” said the pale kid with a chuckle. “Ah, I’m Arc, by the way,” he continued, offering his left hand for a handshake. Realizing his mistake, the boy switched his hand and offered his right hand. “Sorry, I’ve been trying to change that habit for a while now. I’m left-handed, you see.”

Arc heard another boy, a Ravenclaw like him called Bastian if he had remembered correctly, talked about the squid. Bastian nodded to him and Arc returned the nod before focusing back to Donnovan. He seemed to be a little overwhelmed by all the questions and statements. The least Arc could do was to be a good clubmate. He lined up near the closest boat and all ready to board the boat. The dark-haired boy realized that he actually had experience with handling boats as his father had brought him many times -much to his dismay- to go fishing at lakes near London or even sailing at sea.

Hm...

Should he help? Or should he just stay quiet? They probably had everything covered already and he would just be embarrassing himself if he got shot down. Hmph.

Oh, well. Que sera sera.

“Erm, Don. Do you need help to handle the boat? I actually have experiences handling ‘em,” said Arc, still a bit unsure that he should've spoken.

Donny continued to look down upon his watch. Where are they? He thought, thinking about the people who were signed to helping him set up, and handle this wild group of members. He was quite nervous that something would go wrong, that not everyone would show up in time that they would get bored of Donny. Just until a girl with long brown hair rushed up to the group, a little out of breath and asking if she was late. "Um...no not quite! Your fine, but I am expecting someone to be here...but that's beside the point! Glad you could make it, Er- Georgia?" he said quietly unsure if he'd said it right. She did talk quite fast. And just like he (Arc) could read Donny's mind, the boy Arc offered to help with his boating knowledge to Donny, just in time.

"Yeah, thanks! That would be wonderful! We will need another boat as well, I chose some of the larger ones! Could you help me drag that one over to the docs?" he asked Arc, pointing in the direction of the tree in which the second large boat stood, it would come in handy quite soon in the club's very first meeting. "Oh, and I'm a lefty too!" he chipped in, noticing the awkward handshake between Arc and Ruka...

Lavinia was excited for the Hogwarts Explorers to have their first meeting but there was some time to work on her transfiguration homework. She had spent days upon days working out the details of the meeting with Donny and had offered the suggestion of having the first meeting at the Great Lake. As she sat there in the common room and did her homework, she started to daze off a little and suddenly wakes up. Lavinia assuming that she just slept for a few minutes checks her watch and looks at the time. The meeting had started 20 minutes ago and she had slept for 2 hours! Lavinia rushed to put her homework away and get dressed for the Great Lake then she ran out of the common room and into the hallways.

Finally she arrived at the Great Lake about 30 minutes late and was out of breath, panting she said ”Hi sorry I am late”taking a moment to catch her breath and count how many people had arrived she soon said ”Sorry again for being late I fell asleep doing homework and slept longer then I anticipated, so I am Lavinia Cloven you might have seen what I posted in the corridor and I am a coordinator of us the Hogwarts Explorers. Excuse me but I see Donny and need to help out.”

She walked over to Donny and feeling very bad about being late said ”Sorry to be late but what can I help out with?”

Even after leaving the Boys' Dormitory and clambering down the Gryffindor Tower, Isaac was still full of energy and ready for adventure. He was crazy excited for the meeting of the Explorer's Club after being accepted, and couldn't believe that there would be other people just as psyched about adventure as he was.

This is the greatest thing that's ever happened!

He had to tell himself to slow down as he ran down the slope of the grounds towards the Great Lake. Sunlight beamed off of the shimmering waters, and by the edge stood a group of people silhouetted by the golden glow. Most of them were wearing casual-wear, and he was surprised to see that none of them had gotten into the water yet or on the boats.

Standing to the front were the two coordinators, marshaling the students together. The nervous looking boy wearing spectacles he guessed was Club Leader Donnovan, the boy who had sent him the acceptance owl, while the out-of-breath brunette girl was Lavinia. She was almost as late as he was in arriving.

Looking around with a sparkling gaze, ideas churned in his mind like the tide. What lay beyond the farthest shore of the Lake? Did any of it border the Forbidden Forest? How deep was it? Was it true that there was a squid lurking at the bottom?

Well, there was only one way to find out.

He walked over to Donnovan and asked, "What's our adventure gonna be? Will we take a dip in the lake?"

Jade skipped down to the lake, full of energy. Jade had been very excited when she had found out they would be meeting at the great lake. Jade hoped she would get a chance to explore it as she hadn't seen much of it yet.

Jade glanced down at her watch and saw she was about 30 minuets late. Jade started to run, how had she not noticed. When had the time passed, maybe when she had stoped to smell the flowers, then when she looked at that tree and then - well, that answers that question. I should've just gone to the lake, all that side-tracking has certainly cost me

Jade rushed up to the group, after looking at all the faces three times Jade realised that she hardly knew anyone. She recognised Donny and Ruka almost immediately, then on the second and third look she spotted River and Millie, though she had only met each briefly.

Jade walked over to Ruka as everyone was going to Donny and Jade didn't want to bother him. "Hi Ruka, so I take it we're taking boats out on the lake? I'm Jade by the way, a friend of Donny's..." Jade added, just incase Ruka didn't remember her.

Donny was surrounded by the abundance of people, or members rather. He was quite happy, and proud he'd actually managed to attain all these members, but he was worried he'd bore them all to death waiting for the rest to show up at the event. It was just then when an unfamiliar face greeted him. Donny could only guess that his name was Isaac from the sign up sheets, but he only waited for the boy to ask the question. He answered, "Um, maybe not. Unless you are an aquatic ball of fun like me, everyone else seems a bit picky. But, look forward to getting a tour, when everyone shows up! And I'm Donny by the way!" Donny said, reaching out his hand in a friendly gesture to the boy. Manners always counted.

He then turned to Lavinia, one of his coordinators who thankfully showed up in the nick of time. "Oh, it's fine. I just need to rally everyone over to the docs once we have everyone present and up to date!" he replied to her. "In the meantime, could you take count of everyone? I need to get the space ready for our tour!" He asked. "Oh and Jade is over there, if you want some help, she's pretty nice!" he added, he needed all the help he could get.

Once again, tour will begin once all members post within posted time limit.
Limit: Next Wednesday the MAY FIRST! IS THE DEAD LINE!XD      

Isaac flashed a neon-bright smile, and it lit up his entire face as he shook Donnovan's hand. "The name's Isaac. Isaac Ambrose."

His excitement was quickly turning to hyperactivity. He had already met someone new, and with the promise that the tour was about to start soon, he felt almost ready to bolt ahead into the boats already. The chatter of students talking on the bank surrounded him as the sun lazily flashed upon the water, and he drew closer to the edge of the massive lake. Peering down into the depths, Isaac's eyes searched for a form in the dark waters. I wonder if the squid is sleeping; I'd be awake if I were it. It's much too late in the day to be lazy like that.

The temptation assailed him again. It wouldn't hurt to dip a toe into the water, would it? Would anyone do anything if he just dived into the water right now? But then again, he didn't want to be kicked out of the club. It was one of the only exciting parts of his entire school experience. Troubled, he decided that he would do the next best thing.

Taking a rounded river stone up into his fist, he threw them one by one into the water, watching the ripples disturb the surface. Perhaps if the rocks were big enough, the squid would wake up and see what was going on.

Emile hurriedly jogged down the slope and to the area beside the lake. You could tel he seemed to be quite out of breath. His pale white face was flushed and he was breathing more heavily than usual. Even so, once he pushed his floppy blonde hair out of his eyes, a big smile was on his face. He loved exploring, and he loved an adventure. His green eyes were sparkling with excitement. 

He searched around for anyone he might know, spotting a couple of Gryffindors, some Ravenclaws, and Hufflepuffs. He could tell from their robes. He didn't really recognize any of them though. He made a mental note that his goal for this club was to explore and make some friends. He nodded to himself before walking closer to where the group was gathered. He spotted Donnovan, who was the club leader and walked over to him. "Hello!" He said smiling brightly at him. "You're Donnovan I assume? I'm Emile. Thanks for setting this up, I'm sure it'll be interesting." He said with a thumbs up. 

It would be Emile's second time on a boat. The first was when him and all the other first years had gathered on boats and sailed to Hogwarts on their first day, but before that he had never gotten the chance to go on one. On his first day he was too nervous to pay attention to anything happening on the boats, and didn't really get any good notes for the novel he wanted to write, so today he was hoping he might be able to write some more things down in his little notebook. 

Emile was also hoping to see the infamous giant squid in the lake he had heard so much about. He walked over to the edge of the lake and spotted another Gryffindor, who was throwing rocks. He scribbled something down in his notebook and then walked over to him. "Hello," He said, turning to him. "Are you also looking for the squid?" Asked Emile, with an excited tone. 

Elizabeth had been waiting for this day for what felt like her whole life. I get to explore Hogwarts! she told herself, as she placed potions ingredients into her cauldron. It's almost time, she would think excitedly as she sat through History of Magic. She could hardly stop talking about it during breakfast, and now the time was finally here. After a quick detour to tell her friend about the amazing club, she hurried down to meet everyone. "Oh, no!" she whispered and began sprinting down the steep slope toward the lake.

"Oh -" she exclaimed, as she felt herself trip over a rock. She landed with a hard plop and tumbled all the rest of the way down. Her hair, which had been neatly tied behind her back in a nice ponytail, was now strewn about. She now had a large hole in the knee of her pants, and her knee was bleeding. Brown mud was smeared all over her shirt and pants. She didn't even care. She simply stood up, brushed off her pants the best she could, and continued running. She was almost to her very first meeting in the Explorer Club, and nothing could bring her down.

"Hi!" she exclaimed, nearly breathless when she had reached them. "I'm here for the meeting!" Despite her haphazard appearance, her eyes shone bright with excitement. Most of the people there she didn't really know, but she did recognize two people. There was Donny, the club leader, and "Oh, hi," she said with a quick wave to @Isaac Ambrose. "Nice to see you again." Hurridly, she sat down next to someone and waited for the meeting to begin.

"Hey Elizabeth!" he greeted quickly upon seeing the familiar girl again. A part of him felt a bit concerned about her being in the Explorers Club, especially if something went wrong on this adventure. Hopefully she wouldn't come up with ideas like running into fire ever again.

Stretching his arm back, he flung a rock even further and faster than before, managing to make it skip five times before it sank into the depths of the water. Eyes gleaming, he knew that it was a new record. Suddenly, he noticed that there was a boy standing beside him. His green eyes glimmered inquisitively, and a notebook was clasped in his fingers. From the tie around his neck, Isaac realized that he must've been a Gryffindor.

"Are you also looking for the squid?"

From the look in his eyes and the tone of his voice, Isaac pegged him out to be the scholarly type. In fact, this boy reminded him of another Ravenclaw girl he had met. She carried a similar journal around wherever she went, recording insightful observations about the world around her.

Looking at the other kid, he nodded, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, I've been trying to get it to wake up, but no luck! How deeply can a squid sleep anyway? It has to get bored of lying around down there."

With the tip of his boot, he kicked a spray of dirt into the water. At this point, he didn't care what methods he used, as long as he got to see the massive creature.
