đ˝orie did not plan to swim in the lake.
It was just an accident. A careless mistake, which wound up with Rorie soaking wet, dripping the muddy water off of her drenched clothes, one of her favorite outfits, too. They would need to be thoroughly dried and washed before they were wearable again, and the way her shirt clung to her skinny body caused discomfort all throughout Rorie.
She had tripped on her own shoelace and fallen into the lake that she had been walking by, handing her a face full of muddy water and her whole body being drenched. Now, standing up, she was freezing from the water and cool breeze on the weekend evening, and the jacket she had brought to deal with that breeze was also soaked.
That wasn't very happy making, as Rorie's little sister, Kara, would say.
Shivering, she trudged her dripping body over to a spot of sunlit grass near the lake, but a safe distance away so that she wouldn't fall in again, just for safe measures. She took off her army green bomber jacket and wrung it out, though it was still damp and cold when she had finished. Her black leggings were clinging to her skin as was her black shirt, and the leather of her Adidas shoes probably would've been wrecked had Rorie not thought fast enough to immediately dry them off.
And she had just been trying to have a relaxing stroll.

Ember walked along a narrow, sunlit path, apparently leading around the lake. When lessons were over for the day, she enjoyed exploring the castle grounds. Every time, the young Ravenclaw student discovered something new, something fantastic.
Today she discovered a student.Â
There were thousands of students milling around the magical school. Sometimes they even seemed like millions to the scrawny witch. But today, she saw just one. One single student on a patch of grass.
This wasn't unusual. The lake was one of the places lots of the other scholars liked to visit; almost every day, she saw someone relaxing here. The only thing that actually was unusual was what the girl - a Gryffindor, judging from the stained coat of arms sewn onto her top - looked like. Ember wasn't the kind of person judging people for their looks. However, she couldn't help but stare as she saw the state this young girl was in. Every single inch of her was covered in mud. Watching in disbelief, she regarded her wringing out her clothes, before realizing that it might be looking a bit rude if she was just standing there. Quickly, Ember darted over towards her. "Are you OK?", she asked, tentatively reaching out.

Ellara hummed a slight tune as she hopped along next to the shoreline, entertaining herself with a made-up game of how many rocks she could leap across to before she fell off, and thus, lost. Sort of like the "floor is lava," in a way. At the current moment in time, her count was up to thirty-seven, which was a new record by her books! Back at home, where the scenery was a bit different, and instead of rocks, it'd be other trinkets and furniture, depending on the location, her record had only been twenty-one. It was a comforting thing to know she was improving.
Unfortunately, thirty-seven would have to be the new high score, because, on her next jump, she heard the smack! as someone tripped over into the water, and she misplanned her footfall. The Hufflepuff girl, of course, wasn't all that upset. In fact, she was more curious than anything else, and so in turn, went over to investigate the strange occurrence.
The source could be attributed to the girl who'd been running up ahead, although she definitely wasn't running any longer. It looked like something had caused her to trip and fall into the water, and now the poor witch was covered in mud. Fortunately, it looked like another girl was already going to help out, but it was better to be safe than sorry!
Ellara approached the group as well, a look of concern on her face. The Ravenclaw girl looked like she had it covered, but she figured it'd be best to stay, in case something else was wrong. "Ouch. Is your ankle alright? I can get a professor or someone if we need to get to the Hospital Wing..." she offered.

Sonya was just taking a little stroll by the lake. The Great Lake was one of he favorite places at Hogwarts. It was always just such a relaxing spot, with a cool breeze and most of the time it was pretty quiet. She was wearing a pretty casual outfit which contained jeans, a long sleeve shirt, short boots, and a sweater. It was a slightly chilly day, but not too cold.
As Sonya walked down the edge of the lake, making sure she kept a safe distance however, as she'd heard tales of students falling in, she daydreamed. She loved to daydream and just get completely lost in her own thoughts. This time she was daydreaming about theater. Not too different from most times. She broke out of her thoughts when she caught a glimpse of a small group of girls, one looked quite familiar.
She walked and got closer. As she did she made out not one, but two familiar girls. One was Ellara Butler, who was in her theater club. The other was Rorie Thompson, a nice girl who she sat with on the train to Hogwarts and hung out with a couple times since.
She jogged up to the group and saw that Rorie was soaking wet. "Rorie! Are you ok? What happened? You look freezing! Here, take my sweater," Sonya said kinda frantically and handed the girl her sweater. She probably seemed really worried, and that was true. It was just how she responded when her friends were in need.

Amanda rarely spent her free time studying, but today was a exception, as she had a ton of homework waiting for her. She sighed, taking off her glasses and wiping them with her sweater. As she was putting them back on, her satchel slipped off of her shoulder and onto the ground, spilling its contents. Dangit...
While she was gathering up her belongings, Amanda heard a splash and frowned, turning to the source of the noise. People shouldnât be swimming in the lake. But there was always some crazy kid who jumped in anyways, usually to impress someone. She finished putting everything back into her satchel and walked closer to the lake.
As she quickened her pace, Amanda determined that the girl had actually fallen in on accident. Her face softened as she approached the girl. There were three other girls standing by her whom Amanda did not recognize. âAre you alright?â She asked the girl, genuinely concerned. âIâm Amanda, by the way.â She scrutinized the girl. âDo you think that anything is broken or sprained?â As a Prefect, Amanda felt that it was her duty, which it partially was, to ensure the safety of her fellow students. There was no room for goofing off when you had a duty to fulfill.

There were now five girls present at the scene, and in Ellara's opinion, all of it was getting a bit crowded. She took a step back, worried that they were smothering the poor girl before she could even get a word in about how she was feeling. It was comforting to know that there were so many people at the school who were willing to lend a helping hand, though! Acts of kindness always warmed her heart, and maybe once this whole issue was finished with, she could at least learn the names of the other students around her.
"I think we all may be smothering her a little bit," Ellara commented, watching with a twitch of a smile on her face, as the three other girls cooed at the one who had fallen down. "Let's give her a chance to get a word in before we dive right back into attacking her!" Her tone, of course, was good-natured. She just didn't want everyone present to do more harm than good, intentions set aside.
She glanced out over the water, watching the calming waves for a moment in almost a bit of a trance, before hearing the other Ravenclaw girl introduce herself. Amanda Sparrow... The name sounded familiar. Maybe she was a Prefect? Seemed likely. "While we're all out here, we may as well introduce ourselves. I'm Ellara," she piped up to the rest of the group.

Ember's eyes opened wide in an extremely startled as she realized what was happening. Three more students, one of them even a Ravenclaw prefect, suddenly joined her, all talking and asking the girl who had apparently fallen into the Great Lake things: how she felt; if everything was OK... What if that is too much attention for her? Ember pondered, regarding how the muddy girl seemed to be taken aback a little. She decided to follow the example of one of the others, a Hufflepuff, she realized with a quick glance at her robes. "While we're all out here, we might as well introduce ourselves. My name is Ellara." The young Ravenclaw witch gave Ellara a warm smile before taking a step backwards and speaking up herself, in a voice far too squeaky. She had mostly overcome her shyness during the past few months, but in moments like this, during sudden, unexpected gatherings, it sometimes came back. Unfortunately. Without getting too put off by this, Ember kept speaking. "So, I'm Ember, Ember Jones, I'm a Ravenclaw, as you can see..." She pointed to the blue eagle neatly sown onto her robes, her finger shaking with nervosity. "Um, and I just wanted to go for a walk... then I saw her..." She turned to the girl who was still dripping with mud. "Who are you?"Â
