Hufflepuff v Ravenclaw 3rd Game Finished

The final game of the year for one or even both of these teams: Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw face off. Hufflepuff has won both of their matches this year, so a third victory here would ensure that they are this year's champions. However, if they lose there is a chance that Ravenclaw might take the title as they have won one game themselves. If they can score enough points with their Quaffle and find the snitch, Ravenclaw might pull this victory away from Hufflepuff. Ravenclaw is known for their cleverness but Hufflepuff does have the clear advantage starting this game because Ravenclaw will have to not only get the snitch before Hufflepuff does but they will also have to make sure that Hufflepuff does not score with the quaffle because this proved to be a very close season.

It was a warm and sunny Sunday morning. The stadium was filled with Professors, students, proud and concerned parents as well as several fans from Hogsmeade. The air was abuzz with excitement, the chatter of the crowd crescendoed into a roar as the audience cheered for the Hufflepuff and Slythrin Quidditch Team. On the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team a second year, Saskia Nicholson has maintained the Captain role throughout the season. Perhaps it is her leadership that has allowed her team to be so successful thus far. Her co-captain, third year Quinn Healy might also be their secret weapon. The massive part-giant youth had an intimidating presence and was known to have moments of aggression as seen during the Masquerade Ball. The Ball likely being a turning point for the boy, as a pair of part giants made a name for themselves and caused havoc that night, injuring several students in the chaos. While he was not at fault, the destructive potential of 'his kind' was apparent to many.

Hufflepuff boasted a number of powerful first string players. Their first string Seeker, Serena Towers had been a part of the team sing be the beginning. she was incredibly skilled in finding the snitch early on before her opponents could devastate her team. For back-up, she has Teiki Laurent for her second string, a first string. Guarding the rings, the team has a pair of new faces. For the first string it is a first year new-comer, Willow Anderson and for their second string Atlas Reid. The captains of the team view the field as a duo, both of them first string beaters. Reid Kovacs, a powerful third year backs them up. Second strings usually do not get a lot of field time but the intimidating presence of the part-giant has made him often an early target of bludgers and blatching attempts. Finally, their chasers: Annie Morgan, Dawn Riley and Donnovan Perrywinkle comprise their first string. Their second string on stand by is Serena Bowen.

The second strings would of course be benched after they took a jaunt on their broom around the perimeter of the Quidditch field. The first string players would make their way onto the field. The crowd would cheer for them and wish them well.

Ravenclaw's team would fly out. The leadership of this team, like Team Hufflepuff has remained unchanged throughout the season. Emma Hill, a third year and Neculai Lazar, a Prefect and second year. Many of these intelligent, perhaps even bookish students were not as well known for causing trouble or their brawn but they were incredibly clever.

Neculai Dragos Lazar, the second year and co-captain under Emma Hill was their first-string Seeker. He had done fairly well for himself throughout the season. His back-up was another second year, River Dewlight. Their first string Keeper was Lark Flaer, a first year that did not seem to mind getting her hands dirty. Her back-up was Alan Noble, a second year. Little was known publicly about either of them as they kept to themselves, perhaps they would surprise the audience today. Their chasers consisted of Cecily Quinn, a third year and a Prefect; Ruthie "Ruthie" Iona Greer, a first year and Prefect; and new-comer David Young, a first year who brings an unknown advantage to the game. On the benches as their second string is the excitable, spunky first-year new comer (who is anxious for this post) Grace Mint. Finally, their beaters are rather well-known. Their captain, Emma Hill and fellow Ravenclaw Jorah Moussa make up their first string. Jorah is best known for nearly getting kidnapped at the Blossom Ball as a part-giant attempted to kidnap him for reason(s) unknown. Perhaps it was an act of random violence, an act of desperation and opportunity or perhaps there was something 'special' about the boy that drew them to him. In any case, those part giants were killed so they were giving no answers but the boy had been the subject of speculation (by NPCs). Their back-up, in case of the the two goes down would be a first year, Freya Thomas.

The crowd would cheer for them as they made their way onto the field. They would make a loop around the perimeter of the field and take their positions. The first strings to the field and the second strings to the benches.

Solomon Lear was not here. At the very least if he was, nobody would see him. This would be the first game of the year that the Headmaster missed. It was a well-kept secret that the Headmaster had been missing since the Masquerade Ball, his present location and status unknown. Despite his absence, the school had been running without a hitch, well no more than usual. The Professors still received their salaries, requisitions were being filed and the school chugged along. Perhaps the Headmaster was not a necessary part of the school after all. Perhaps that or someone was somehow still pulling the strings from the shadows. It did not matter of course, not here in any case. Someone did in fact show to give the opening speech, Lazarus Plott.

The Ilvermorny Headmaster had taken a sabbatical from his role in Ilvermorny for the past several months. His time was spent in London, specifically it was spent with the Ministry of Magic where he discussed something of 'upmost importance.' He had returned to the school this (as well as the other) Quidditch Game.

A long billowing cape in his wake, the wizard would use the Sonorus Charm to command the audience's attention. "Welcome everyone to the Hogwarts Game between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. This will surely prove to be an exciting game. Please let me hear it for your favorite team!"
This match will be moderated by @Rafael D'Spacito

In your narration Rafael you have permission to Godmode the actions of the NPC: Lazarus Plott. The only characteristic that is necessary to know is he is dramatic, flamboyant and a bit of a ham.

Willow had been anticipating the Quidditch game ever since it was announced. She couldn't believe she was now the first-string keeper, and also her first game. She could already hear the crowd roaring as they waited to enter the pitch. People were so excited for this, and she hoped she could do her house proud.

Finally it was time, she mounted her broom and kicked off with her team to do a lap around the field. She tried to spot her friends in the crowd but honestly they went too quick to spot, and she focused on steadying her breathing as her anxiety only increased as the pressure surrounding the success of this game dawned on her fully. But, she felt alive and exhilarated from the crowd, it was something that she had never felt before. It was such a unique experience that she was ever so grateful to have in attending Hogwarts.

After the circle she made her way to her place on the field by the rings. She stretched while the Ravenclaw team was making their rounds to try and release some anxious energy by limbering up her arms and loosening her neck by rocking it side to side. She slowly got into the zone, remembering that despite everything going on... This was her house's time to shine and she was so excited to part of it.

This was it, the third and final house to beat. Hufflepuff had beaten all odds so far this year - and Serena was absolutely thrilled to be a part of that. They had one more match to beat in order to be titled the undeniable Quidditch Champions of the year. Unfortunately that meant, they had one very tough match ahead of them. They had to win. It was not going to be easy but the yellow and black badgers do not back down from a challenge. Serena clutched her broom, wrapping her fingers around it tightly as she steadied her nerves. It was scary in a way but it was also exciting.

When she was out there, on the quidditch pitch, nothing else seemed to matter. For the first time in a long time, everything else seemed to fade away. All that mattered was the team and the snitch. At least, it did for her. She was, after all, a seeker. Her main job was finding that elusive snitch. Serena looked up to the clouds, before down towards her team mates, "You've got this, guys. You can do it." She said confidently, believing in her teammates as she held up her clutched hand for a fist bump, "We can do this.Serena added herself as an afterthough onto her words. Throughout the year, she usually started off the game, benched. It was odd to be starting out the same time as everyone as else but she knew it was now up to her to do her job and to do it properly.

Once they were ready, she mounted onto her broom and got into ready to kick off. She was in position and ready to play.

As he followed the team in the lap around the pitch, he cheered on anyone who sported the black and yellow. But he kept a tight formation with the rest of the team and worried himself with loosening the nerves in himself. As a second, he had to get benched and that was where most of his games have started ever since. He didn't hope that it would change, because that would've meant that one of the Captains had fallen to the iron wrath. Reid sat on the bench, looking up at some of their teammates as they got into position.

He knew there were some new faces in the team, which made it all the more rewarding to see them up there. The beater raised his fist to return Serena's gesture and held onto the broom he had between his legs. "You lot have this!" he shouted with a cheeky grin. He made a series of noises that probably sounded a little too beastly coming from him and sat back down.

It was nerve wrecking to even sit in the game, this was the final of the season. But it would prove something in his heart that he's been saying for a long time, Hufflepuffs were more than what the rumors held. They had two games in the bag, this could be their last one if they secured it. However, what drew him away momentarily was the voice of someone else.

This person didn't sound familiar, no, this was someone entirely different. His green eyes fell on the area where Headmaster Lear usually sat, instead it was someone he didn't recognize. He didn't spend enough time paying attention to who Headmaster Plott was, he was excited about the students who came. But seeing him here was rather peculiar and a little disheartening to not see the armor-clad Headmaster. He would've wanted the old man to at least see his old house possibly win the cup. "Aye, well -" His head turned back to the pitch. "Another time."

This year seemed to be coming to a very fast close leaving Lark feeling rather bummed that she had just gotten into the swing of things with Quidditch and felt rather confident only for this to be their last game for the year. The news of first string had been quite the shock and warranted a hastily scrawled letter home to her father who immediately replied with all sorts of praise and cheering on. The letter had made her ignore her nerves for the time being but the closer to game got the more nervous she had become not wanting to let her team down. Determined not to do so she had enlisted Ruthie's help with even more practice in hopes it would better prepare her for such a role.

She had walked side by side with her friend to the locker room and chatted away with the others around her letting out all her nervous energy, even being encouraged to eat a proper breakfast by her friend AJ. He had taken a hand in helping relieve her fears leaving her hoping he would stop in and cheer for her. She hadn't seen much of her other friends lately which only served to weigh heavily on her mind. But! After a decent breakfast in her belly and shared laughs with Ruthie and AJ, Lark felt tip top for the game against Hufflepuff.

Standing on the side of the pitch she brushed at her uniform and squinted up into the sky trying to block out the cheering that already seemed to be ringing through the air. She had to focus and that's exactly what she intended to do. Nothing more than keeping her head in the game. Her very first...first string game. A jolt of excitement zipped through her spine and straight to her fingertips that gripped the broom at her side. Like other firsts at Hogwarts, fire, half-giants, kidnapping... the usual, this would be another memorable moment in her future here.

Steadying herself on her broom, Lark waited for her teammates before taking their usual first lap, something that made her chest swell with pride and turn to flash Ruthie a large smile. It certainly was different watching from the bench and actually being in the thick of it all. Turning away from the others and towards her position, Lark placed her back to the goals and peered across the field.

Clearing her thoughts she shifted her mind into the game. She stretched her joints and straightened her back out to get any last bits of tension from her muscles. Fortunately she had also taken AJ's advice on getting a good nights rest and even sent herself to bed earlier than usual. She just hoped all of these preparations and precautions would help Ravenclaw.

Alan, following his team out to the pitch, and this is his first game of quidditch since joining the team. The young lad was already thinking about doubts as he knew a lot was riding on this match to particular aside from proving he could handle the pressure, but Alan wanted to show he can be depended on rather than the other way around. So much was rushing through his mind kicking himself wondering what impulse drove him to join the team in the first place, was it forced? Was it of his choice it didn't matter he was anxious regardless but didn't regret the decision.

Following his team in line, he was to be benched for the most part of the game until being called he was the new second-string Keeper of course. Alan felt this was a blessing in disguise being the reserve as he could further amp himself up watching his fellow teammates get into position. The new Keeper made his way towards the benches watching in anticipation as he kept muttering to himself "You can do this, just do your best Al, this is will be your chance to shine today". Despite Alans attempts to hype himself, the boy was visibly shaking in his seat thumping his right leg while gripping onto his school broom tightly as it lay across his lap, looking down as if zoning out.

Alan felt every right to be nervous as this is the finals and no mistakes were to be made, wishing he had joined the team sooner he might have had a chance to get used to pressure that was riding on him to defend those three tall hoops. Remembering back to when he was in a muggle school playing soccer, he knew he had the potential, but Alan also felt that it may have been a fluke. Regardless the Keeper looked up onto the pitch as he watched the first string of players were moving into position a rush of adrenaline from the roaring ground caused him to stand up and shout, his voice croaking towards the end "Come on Ravens this our time!" a little red-faced he sat back down thumping his leg anxiously.

Atlas could barely contain her excitement as she straightened her quidditch robes and took a deep inhale. She had very recently been made the second string keeper of the team and although she was shocked to have been picked she had not been able to shut up about it since.

She had already written her parents and talked her best friend's ear off and now her first Quidditch match was here. Atlas was one of the most competitive people she knew so it was a plus to know that Hufflepuff was currently in the lead and just a single game away from taking the cup.

Already from the tunnel, she could hear the roar of the crowd as people stomped, cheered and yelled for their teams. The energy was like nothing she had ever experienced up close and she could feel her heart matching the pounding of the footsteps. Biting down on her lip, Atlas could feel her lip shaking as she tried, to no avail, to contain her wide smile.

Hopping onto her broom, Atlas pushed off from the ground barreling out of the tunnel as she made a speedy loop around the field trying to pinpoint Ethen but everyone looked liked vibrating blurs as she shook her head and looked forward completing her circle before landing by the benches. The sun beat down directly above the players as Atlas watched her fellow Keeper, Willow make her way onto the field. Atlas couldn't believe that both Keepers were first years but she chalked it up to raw talent and determination.

Atlas cupped her hands around her mouth as she cheered for her teammates hoping to send as many good vibes as she could to them. "You all got this!! Let's gooooo HUFFLEPUFFS!!" she screamed clapping her hands as she joined in with the chants from the other Hufflepuff students. Everything inside her was telling her this was going to be a winning game and nothing would take that from them.

Sitting down on the bench next to the other teammates, Atlas watched as the game was about to begin. She needed to make sure she heard everything so she could be ready in case she needed to jump in.

Ever since the last game of quidditch, River had been anticipating this one. She was sad it would be the final game of the year, but she was excited about summer being around the corner. Her spirits had lifted since their loss during the last match and now she was ready for her team to kick this one in the butt. A part of River wished she could fly as first-string, but on the other hand she got some great views of the game, and learned a lot from her companions as they zoomed about the pitch. The young ravenclaw wasn’t usually the loud cheering type, but it didn’t mean she had any less spirit than the others.

Just like the previous games, the entrance to the pitch seemed like a blur. She could hear cheering and clapping, but everything became muffled and it almost gave the sensation of hearing someone yell underwater. Feeling her heartbeat and the butterflies in her belly she followed the rest of her team and found her place on the sidelines. River’s gaze looking over her team expectantly.

Her attention was directed away from the crowd and the teams as her it was caught by something else. A quiet muttering coming from the person next to her. She looked at him and saw the face of a boy she’d met before. Alan. “Hey” She smiled calmly as she noticed his leg tapping nervously, “Don’t worry, you’ll be great”, she said as she gave him a slight nod. Being nervous was absolutely okay, and normal too. She remembered her first time out on the pitch, she had been a wreck so there was no judgment.

The time had come for the final game of the year. Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw was highly anticipated, and Donny was ready to shine this time. He'd made his way to first string, and maybe this time he could be the spectacle of the game. With Hufflepuff winning against Slytherin, and Gryffindor, the Quidditch cup already had their name on it. It was even more nerve-racking that the visiting Ilvermorny headmaster, Lazarus Plott, was watching in the stands. He seemed quite excited, clapping even though the match hadn't even begun.

As he walked onto the field, clad in his Quidditch robes and broom, he smiled. It was a warm sunny day, quite the contrary to their match with Gryffindor.  He was ready for this. He was ready to beat some eagle butt! He saw everyone benched, but his place was this time on the field with the rest of first string. He looked down and made sure his broom was in tip-top shape before he talked to the team. Being that it was a school broom, he'd made sure to maintain it as best as he could. And it looked great! He adjusted his glasses, and walked confidently over to the team. "Let's go Huffles!"

This match was everything, and nothing could get in his way. Not even some snarky Ravenclaws...

What a difference a year makes. In the fall, she had been here on a school broom, only knowing the sport through matches she had attended with her family. A normal student she had been then, but now she was a Prefect, as much as that thought perplexed her. That first match things had been so simple before the chaos of the Ball. She had been naive then, wholesome even and an unknown. Now people recognized her--recognized her damaged soul.

But perhaps damage is what makes us whole. This is what she thought as she gripped the handle of her new Silver Arrow, still unable to believe that it was, in fact, hers. It seemed so surreal. But it was an important element that might help Ravenclaw win. Each of them brought their own strengths, and if a broom could help her increase her ability to help, she welcomed it.

As she zoomed up and into the air, she looked around at her wonderful teammates. First, she was sure to give a wave and reassuring smile to Lark, who was starting in this match as first-string Keeper. Taking over for Dymph was no easy task, but she'd been practicing with Lark throughout the term and was confident her friend would be able to make a great run in the role. She also looked across to David, who would be joining her and Cecily as Chaser. Lavinia had left quite a mark as their top-goal scorer, but Ru knew the three of them could honor her legacy.

There wasn't much time left now before the match would begin. So she also nodded across to Jorah. They'd been a bit distanced since the Ball, but Quidditch would be something they always shared. He was an excellent Beater and she was confident he'd do well. That they all would do well against Hufflepuff.
