Facing Fears
PV @Saskia Nicholson── ❋ ──𝓣he Quidditch Pitch was somewhere Amadea didn't normally frequent. When she had first arrived at Hogwarts and Amadea had learned what Quidditch was, she came to the pitch simply out of pure curiosity. There, she had met Kyden Goodlow who had been the first person to push her out of her comfort zone and teach her how to fly. Granted, Amadea was still terrified of flying. Maybe it was because she was Muggle born, but the idea of flying around on a tiny piece of wood while balls are flying through the air did not sound appealing to the girl. At all. To Amadea, it seemed like disaster waiting to happen.
For this reason, Amadea didn't often go to the Quidditch Pitch. She hadn't attended many Quidditch games as she knew she would definitely be covering her eyes in fear for most of the game; she didn't want anyone to get hurt. Amadea hadn't seen Kyden in a long time and hadn't flown, outside of her least favorite class of flying, since her first year. She always tried to keep an open mind, of course. She had plenty of friends that were interested in Quidditch and some that were even on their house Quidditch teams, and she always supported them. She just knew that she herself would never join the team. Or fly unless she was forced to.
That was why Amadea was slightly surprised as she found herself standing at the Quidditch Pitch. Most of the time on Amadea's daily walks, she just went around the grounds or ventured toward the Great Lake. Often, she tried to stay as far away from the Quidditch Pitch as possible; even just watching other people fly triggered her anxiety and she didn't like the feeling. There didn't seem to be any people though; Amadea figured they were all probably at the Training Pitch where they could practice. Amadea didn't really know that much about Quidditch now that she thought about it. She stared at the large goalposts, wondering how the game was played. From what she gathered, it was like soccer but in the air and you hold the ball with your hands. Oh and there were giant balls flying around that people tried to hit toward you to knock you off your broom. Exactly like soccer.
Amadea shivered at the thoughts of what could happen to someone during a Quidditch game and decided to linger here no longer. Her walks were supposed to be the good part of her day, where she could clear her mind and relax. Standing here was not helping to do so. Amadea turned around to leave. As she did so, she realized there was someone standing behind her. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said. "Am I in your way?"── ❋ ──
