Secret Blossom Ball
Interacting with: @May MoonstarBlake's Blossom Ball Attire:Reducio
The massive grin on Blake's face was becoming almost painful as he basked in the compliments May was giving him and he took a moment to adjust his suit jacket. The plush velvet jacket felt solid on his shoulders and he paused to watch May marvel at the decorations.
"Ya know May, you look stunning too. Couldn't have asked fur a better companion," He sighed contently, watching her pale pink skirt swish around her ankles as she moved about. His thoughts brought him back to the Owlery that one evening when they'd met and he was pulled back to the present by May asking him about his drink preference. He blinked absent mindlessly as he took in her appearance for the hundredth time that evening. The flowers braided elegantly into the updo resting at the back of her head seemed to shimmer and twinkle in the candle light.
"Oh aye yes how about I grab the drinks an you find a spot ta sit?"He offered, glancing at the lavish drink display May had been fluttering around. The rest of the guests, now arrived, seemed to be drifting in and out of the decorated area to the quiet areas of the Quidditch Pitch. Blake spotted the shimmering material of his sister's dress lazily floating around the dance floor as he selected two decanters of butterbeer. Dancing was a bit out of his league but he was willing to try. Even coming to the Blossom Ball had been a big try on his part, with credit given to his sister and mum for orchestrating the process.
"I guess I should send an owl ta my Mum and thank her fur makin me go huh?"He laughed, sliding into a seat next to May. The flowers pinned to his suit jacket rustled slightly as he produced the drinks and set back, pleased with the view and his beverage choice.
"So about that dancing..."He trailed off with a cheeky smile.

Secret Blossom Ball

-Mentioning: a lot of people lol -
As the first students started to arrive, Lydia couldn't help but smile brightly at them as they took in the different decorations that were all around them. She felt incredibly proud of the result they had achieved; after all, they were only first year students, but they still managed to create something pretty and complex as a Ball.
With the arrival of more students, Lydia decided to walk around the main area of the pitch, greeting as many people as possible, as she waited for her date to arrive.
"Hey!"Lydia said to her best friend @Aaron Jones as she walked up to him. "You look so handsome Aaron! I love the shirt, and the sunflower as well!" the red headed girl added, as she gave a big, bright smile to the boy. "Do you think they like how we have decorated everything?" she said in a question that was meant more for herself rather than for anyone else. Whenever she felt nervous or stressed, Lydia would always end up over-talking. She took a deep breath, trying to empty her mind of any kind of worry; she was at the ball now, it wasn't time to be stressed out, but to enjoy herself and have fun with her friends.
"I'm going to walk around, and see who's already here. Save me a dance, for later?" Lydia asked Aaron, before smiling at him and walking towards the edge of the dance floor.
As she wandered around, the Hufflepuff girl noticed a lot of familiar faces, like @Willow Anderson, @Anastasia Beckett and @Santario Martin, and waved at them, her face light up by a bright smile; she also saw several new faces. She was really happy that the even had reached so many students, it filled her heart with happiness; she also hoped that this way everyone had the chance of relaxing a little bit, even if just for one night. Lydia felt like one of those hosts that you see in tv programs, going around, greeting everyone and thanking them for coming; it felt nice, she loved meeting new people, and this was definitely a way to do so.
As she moved towards one of the food tables, Lydia noticed a girl with silver hair - she had definitely seen her around the castle a couple of times - dressed with an incredibly pretty blue and dusty pink gown that went together perfectly with her hair colour. She walked towards her, and once she was closed enough she took the chance to introduce herself.
"Who knew that Aaron's idea of bringing some Yoohoo to the ball would have been so successful," Lydia said as she gave the other girl a warm smile, "I don't particularly like it, but he loves it! I'm Lydia, thank you so much for coming tonight! I hope you're having a good time," she added warmly as she reached for a chalice of pumpkin juice. She had been really tempted by the food that was there, since she had skipped dinner to prepare the venue, but she was too afraid of getting something stuck in her teeth.
She started sipping on her drink, when she felt the two braids on the back of her head get loose, and a little bit of panic got to her. What was she supposed to do? She needed to fix them, before the flowers fell to the ground.
"I’m so sorry, I-I really need to go!” She apologised as she gently wrapped a hand around the flowers in her hair, before she rushed to the Changing Rooms.

The secret blossom fest day had finally arrived and fully in swing as Percy made his way to the location. Everyone was told to dress in the changing rooms, but the young Slytherin had other ideas. He was already dressed in his tailored black suit and jeans, and sported a special black lotus in his suit pocket. The plant was sent to him directly from his parents, who wished to give him something special for the occasion, a great addition to his already flawless costume. When the pitch drew closer he saw that the inside was lit up with various lights, as well as a silent chatter that also came from within. The blossom ball had been a staple of hogwarts through most of it's history, and possibly one of the few times it had been cancelled. Luckily, students were quick to think of a solution and make a secret one that would go against teachers orders all together.
Percy made it to the stairs and slowly made his way up the top, his eyes gazing down onto the ball once he had reached the peak. The whole thing was colourful as it should be, and there was also a few groups present. None of them peaked his interest though. He made his way down the stands and onto the actual pitch itself, which was now covered to protect anyone from getting muddy. From what he saw, not many people had arrived yet, which was a perfect opportunity to have a look around before things really got hectic. The history of balls at hogwarts wasn't bright by any means, fires and kidnappings almost overshadowed it from the past few years. Hopefully, another tragedy wouldn't happen tonight.
His attention was soon captured by a table that held food and drink, something of which he needed from walking all the way down to the qudditch field from the castle. Percy's eyes wondered across and rested on some cold water. Pouring it into a cup he turned back around and viewed the ball once more, keeping note of everyone that was attending tonight "If this doesn't turn into a disaster, i'll be bloody surprised..." muttered the boy as he took a sip of his cold drink.

Grace was deep into her book, but then she heard a familiar voice say “Wow, ye took the ‘blossom’ part of this ball really seriously”
Grace’s eyes widened, a smiled grew on her face, she looked up, and there she was, Savannah Griffis, Grace’s first ever friend at Hogwarts, Grace threw her book into her bag and got up quickly, she almost leaped on the Slytherin as she wrapped her in a hug.
“SAVANNAH!” she said loudly, she was so happy to finally see her here, Grace let go of her, noticing she wrapped her arms around her too tight and that it might be suffocating her.
The Ravenclaw took a look at Savannah’s outfit, it was a casual one with a plaid skirt, black shirt, blue sneakers with flowers, and a nice red floral beaded bracelet, either way, Grace loved it, it was adorable and chic, Grace smiled.
Grace’s eyes scanned the pitch, there was a dance floor, Grace’s face lit up even more “Annah! Wanna go dance?” she asked, smiling very brightly.
Grace picked her bag up “I’ll meet you there if you want to!” she ran quickly to the dance floor, her bag secure in her hand as she started dancing, not caring about if it was bad or not.
Once Grace finished dancing, she sat back on the ground and took a few breaths, her hair managed to stay nice and straight, which was good, Grace saw more people coming in, how many more will come?
Grace went to the food place now, avoiding any sweet things, but then she noticed Yoohoo, a drink Grace tasted only once in her life when she took a trip to America about 2 years ago, she remembered loving it, but that was her last day in America and she was so sad that she couldn’t have it again back in London.
Grace took two, one for herself and one for Savannah, she walked back to Savannah “It’s a chocolate drink from America, it’s really good” she told her with a smile

As jo noticed Isadora she gave her a friendly wave from the table, she looked a lot nicer than jo, and she was happy for it, she seemed to be enjoying herself too, and she had the amazement look as every younger student did. She stopped rubbing her hands for a moment as she put them down to admire the scenery of the ball, it was magnificent and magical, she just couldn't stop admiring it.
The pressing of the crowd seemed to have left her body for a while, her hair kept getting in her eyes, and she kept moving it out of her face, it annoyed her very much but the admiration for the looks of the ball never left her. She noticed some people were pacing around while others talking. Obliviously Jo didn't realize her face was red from the cold, she was never used to being outside so this was normal to her, but to others, it may not have been.
She looked at the sky, the stars were already shining brightly over the quidditch pitch, and the sky seemed to be friendly and welcoming, she never wanted to look into the sky more than now, and it was odd about the allure of it to her, she soon looked back into the crowd to look for others she might know. She sighed as she go up and headed back for the stairs.

A small break in the attendees gave her a small moment to look around and see the others starting to mingle. She noticed a few people up in the stands as well but they were too far off to really be able to tell who they were. Movement out of the corner of her eye brought her back to the entrance in time to catch Josette Rutledge *Click*. Aura Lee floated in consumed by a cloud of silvery blue. This girl must come from some serious money to look like an overly embellished Cinderella. *Click* Now enter Scott Alexander someone San knew from the Headliner. She found him aesthetically pleasing enough to know that any photo taken of him would always be amazing. What was the word other people used? Incredibly handsome and amazing? Probably the golden embroider knee-length jacket certainly helped. *Click* It was no surprise that he made his way towards Anastasia. The power couple of the night? Probably.Open to interactions
Interacting with | @Lydia Cooper from a distance
Mentioning | Everyone who has entered since my last post
Saskia Nicholson someone San had kind of bonded over healing practices with. This is probably the shortest thing San had ever seen her wear, but the light blue dress looked good on her. *Click* Adam Harrington draped in a dark blue respectable outfit found himself entering the ball. Respectable would probably help him blend into the background. *Click* Willow Anderson a girl that Santario met at her birthday party entered wearing a flowing assortment of beige, but she made beige look good. That was an impressive feat. A sensible hairstyle with a dangerous-looking hairpin. Be wary any who step on her feet tonight. *Click* Wren Caster an ice blue princess made her way in but the color went very well with her skin tone. *Click*
Illowy Madnard was a vision in silver with gold accents. Santario didn’t think she would be alone for very long. *Click* Selim Faust entered wearing a kimono in shades of blue. The last time she had seen him was also in the Slytherin common room on that night and if he was anything like she remembered he no doubt had something sharp and pointy on him somewhere. *Click* Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood looked like a rider who had misplaced its horse. She looked sleek and interesting in her outfit none the less, but a horse would have been a nice conversational piece though. Missed opportunity. Maybe next time. *Click* Lark Flaer dressed in stunning whites with undertones of blush pink would only make her golden eyes stand out more so. If Hags looked like this we would all be doomed because following her into the forest would be welcomed. Like Anastasia, ladies would need to watch their boyfriends around her. *Click*
Rosie Parker a girl San vaguely remembered from the last ball. Wasn’t she Quinn Healy’s date before? The half-giant was nowhere to be seen and if she had missed him, she would have needed to get her eyes checked. Rosie was adorned with a beautiful blush pink dress that went on beautifully with her skin tone. Hopefully this time the violet menace (Erin Ryan) wouldn’t disrupt her night by trying to fight whoever she was with. *Click* Isadora Ramone entered in an oddly formfitting choice of a dress for an 11 to 12-year-old child, but to each their own. She looked like she might be apart of the pureblood variety which would somewhat make the outfit choice make sense. *Click* May Moonstar had on a blush floor-length gown and the flowered chignon her hair was done up in was stunning… But it looked like a craft table sneezed on her face with the golden glitter around her eyes. Hopefully, that was glued on properly. Glitter shards in the eye weren’t fun and neither was scratched corneas come to think of it. *Click*
Savannah Griffis wore an interesting choice of dressed-down clothes but nothing terrible either. At least her shoes were really cool and San wondered if she painted them herself or bought them that way. *Click* Ancel Wandlow was very welled groomed in a fitted suite but it was all brown. Even his hair was brown. Now brown was not a bad color but some accent color would have really made that pop. He kind of looked like a tootsie roll. *Click* River Dewlight entered in a black lightly flowered off the shoulder dress and a gorgeous necklace. Obviously the two girls shared some taste in common as they wore the same style of shoe. *Click* Percival Gray another boy who needed to learn what accenting colors were. San understood that this ball would inevitably deform into chaos because this was Hogwarts, but we don’t need to be dressing for funerals just yet. *Click*
As a small lull in entrances hit, she saw Lydia Cooper wave to her from a distance. Santario would offer her a wave in return with a smile before bending down next to her camera bag. She would wind the film in the camera making sure that it would be completely wrapped up in its canister before popping open the back and placing the spent roll within another plastic canister to keep it safe. Slipping that into the left side of her bag before reaching into the right side and loading up another piece of film and standing back up. She worked quickly with the skill as if her fingers had been performing these actions for years. Although, she was only 12 by a week she had been working a camera since she was 8. Standing back up as quickly as she could so that she wouldn’t miss anyone.

Harper left the changing rooms and headed off to the ball. She looked around seeing all kinds of people she recognized. She waved to a few people she knew and smiled at some. She felt a little shy suddenly and a little sad that she didn't have a date. However, by the time she knew about the ball most people she knew had already had dates. So she would hopefully instead get the opportunity to meet some new people, Hufflepuff or any other house really.
Harper started by going over to where the food was. She didn't really eat much before the dance just in case there was food. She made sure to pick foods that wouldn't get on her beautiful pink dress. She looked down at her feet wondering if heels were the best idea. She was pretty good at walking in them and they matched her dress nicely but she knew her feet would be aching by the end of the night. She instead just shrugged it off and looked at the food and gathered some up and then went and sat somewhere sort of away from the party so she could scan it and see if there was anyone who she could talk to or meet.

As people filtered inside, Aaron said hello to as many friends (and strangers) as possible. His excitement was through the roof when he saw how many people were actually showing up! Maybe people really did have hope that this wouldn't turn out like the last ball - the masquerade that Aaron had not attended but heard terrible things about. He noticed the hard work @Santario Martin was putting in as she snapped pictures of every person entering, and he made a mental note. He and the others would have to thank her properly sometime.
Just as Aaron was about to make a trip around the ball to say proper hellos, he heard Lydia's voice calling for his attention. He looked at her and smiled, "Thanks, Lyd. You look amazing as well. You're definitely in a fairytale." When he said that last bit, he gestured to her whole ensemble. "I think they love it! Really!" he said, trying to reassure her of the success of the event. He hadn't seen a single unhappy face so far (except maybe the girl who had approached Pericles earlier...).
"Y-yeah, sure," Aaron said, offering a slightly nervous smile as she walked away. Dancing. That's the one part of this whole ball he was truly nervous about. How did people even dance at an event like this? Spinning? He decided not to worry about it for now since he didn't intend to dance for a while, and then he started walking around.
He saw Willow holding hands with a boy from her birthday party, but he chose not to comment on that. He just called out to her that they should talk soon. He then realized that @Sean Hearth had disappeared, and he briefly wondered where his best friend had gone. But it wasn't hard to figure out - Aaron knew him well after all. His eyes looked towards the dark Quidditch stands and offered a tiny smile, knowing that Sean was probably more comfortable away from all the guests. It made sense.
As he walked around the pitch, he made sure everything was in order and the guests were having fun. He took note of all the unfamiliar faces, hoping that he'd get to know them. Groups of people had started to gather, and there were some lone wolves out there as well. He didn't quite realize that he had started heading towards the food again (clearly being convinced by the rumble in his stomach) until he was already there. And that's when he noticed her.
There was an Asian girl - a first year, he guessed, because she seemed familiar - and she was having a grand time by the food and drinks. But her enthusiasm and collection of food isn't what caught his attention - it was her grabbing the Yoohoo. His dark eyes immediately sparkled as a grin found its way onto his face.
"Hey, you!" he called out to the girl, who had started heading for the stairs of the stands. Perhaps he sounded a bit aggressive, but he just really wanted to get her attention. He quickly made his way over to her, hoping she would've stopped.
The girl was wearing a red sweater and jeans, making Aaron wonder if she had missed the changing rooms on the way in. But then he thought about how Santario had dressed - super pretty but casual - and decided that this girl had probably just chosen to be casual as well. After all, they weren't enforcing a dress code. He had only worn his plaid button-up and suit jacket because his mother had sent it specifically for the Blossom Ball he had told her about. It certainly wasn't fancy or expensive, but it did suggest that he cared about the event (evident by the fact that he was one of the ones who planned it)!
"Do you need a hand?" he said, a friendly smile brightening his face. He had definitely noticed the funny way she was walking. They were at the edge of the pitch in slightly dimmer lighting, but he tried to make eye contact with her. "I'm Aaron. You're a first year, right? I think I've seen you in classes before... Are you a Yoohoo enthusiast as well?" Aaron was the definition of a charismatic chatterbox, but it was part of his Hufflepuff charm. If she accepted his help, he would immediately take some of the plates from her arms to help carry them wherever she needed.

After dancing for a bit Isadora found her throat a bit parched. She hadn't even noticed that she was dancing that vigorously. She turned and made her way off of the dance floor and looked around for the refreshment table. She spotted it to her left and made her way over weaving in and out between students. Her lilac dress swished a bit as she moved and she felt the nice breeze on the air cool her down a bit as she walked. She reached the drinks table and took a moment to ponder her choices. There was the obvious choice of pumpkin juice or punch, although Isadora did not think it would do well to quench her thirst. She moved a bit to see more of the table and spotted where she could get some cold water.
Relieved she moved to grab herself a glass of cold water trying her best to avoid bumping into people. She passed a boy near the water wearing a dark black suit.
"OH! Parden me," she said as she scooted by him. She poured herself a glass of water and took a large gulp, sighing with contentment. She looked at the boy again and gave him a friendly smile.
"Hello, how are you enjoying the ball so far?" She asked him kindly. She noticed Jo across the scenery of the pitch and gave a quick wave and smile to her acquaintance from Potions.

Secret Blossom Ball
Mostly things like this were second nature to him already. Social gatherings. He used to have them in his mansion all the time growing up. He quickly learned how to behave at them, since the alternative was being locked in his room with nothing to do for hours. Learning to dance didn’t sound so bad when staring at the ceiling, hearing the distance concertos vibrating the floor beneath his shoulders.
Miss Evelynn seemed perfectly prepared as well, especially after they had their talk. Flash having tossed off his coat in the dressing room, he offered his arm for Evelynn to rest her hand on and walked into the pitch. There was no time to fuss at mirrors or catch up with friends, as dearly as he wished that was the case. He would have loved to speak to any of the many people he recognized as the two of them floated past with a sense of dignity and purpose. Flash’s eyes belonged to only a select few people at the Blossom Ball: Victor Moore, Vladimir Athanatos, and Opeila.
Not that he could perfectly stop people from approaching him and saying hello. He hoped Evelynn would protect him from most of their admirers, but he did have to put effort into looking like he wasn’t watching them. He barely noticed the decorated surroundings, except to make sure none of the exits were blocked off. They had a few plans in place, but all they really had was a few Slytherins who had come to the ball wearing comfortable shoes. Why hadn’t they told everyone to wear them? Flash’s weary eyes blurred when he looked at all the large, trailing gowns and high heels worn in the crowd. They should have insisted… or would it have caused a panic?
He knew where he was headed first-- he needed to assess the current situation. Stands, dressing rooms, pitch-- there were three locations to keep track of. Opeila was directly ahead of him talking to Kara Capricorn, appearing to still be waiting for Vladimir to… implement his plan. Looking at her in her bright green dress and flowers in her hair, only yards away, Flash was struck with the immense fear that if he made one wrong move, she could very well be killed. Was it because he let her? Should he have insisted she tear this ball apart and leave everything to him?
Right. He only felt that way because it was easier. Easier to throw himself into the fire than watch his dear friend do it in front of him. All he could do now was make sure everything went perfectly. Keep his eyes open and put out fires. Metaphorically. Given that the hosts were mostly occupied greeting guests anyway, Flash simply bowed politely, leaving Opeila to her current company. If she ever looked over to him, she would likely meet his gaze. Even though Victor was his actual quarry, Opeila was important to him.
It was surprisingly easy to find him. Almost insultingly so, given his extremely loud white suit and mass of bright red roses. Marion was beside him as well as it turned out, even though he wasn’t particularly assigned to watch her. It seemed wrong. Were they trying to throw him off by being so obvious? It almost felt like he was being toyed with. It was ostentatious, screaming even. It made him want to look away. Certainly he was acting as a distraction, no one had that bad of taste in clothing.
Now that he had made visual contact with two of his targets, he looked around for his third. The stands in the distance were woefully underlit, making it impossible to recognize anyone who decided to dwell there. Horrifying. He hadn’t taken a good look around the changing rooms yet either, where he could part from Evelynn for a moment for her to check the women’s changing area. He didn’t want to be apart from her for too much of the evening, he expected to get used to the feeling of having her nearby.
It was almost effortless, even though they had barely made each other's acquaintance. She knew manners, how to walk and look and talk. She was brave and curious, ready to face danger beside him if that was what it came to. She was scanning the gathered students carefully herself, eyes darting around rapid and mechanical. Her steps were light and precise. Standing still and serious in the middle of the ballroom, one might think they were about to break into a dramatic tango.
But instead, Flash saw Opeila walking off towards the dressing rooms. No doubt she was looking for Vladimir. He supposed he knew why she might feel impatient, but she had also promised him she would stay within his sight. She had been preoccupied, so perhaps she hadn’t seen him enter.
”Miss Evelynn, the dressing rooms.” Flash spoke to her in monotone. They weren’t engaged in any other conversation, so he didn’t need to put on airs.
As he inconspicuously guided Evelynn back towards the dressing rooms, his eyes caught sight of Ruka at one of the tables with Willow. Strange to see the two of them side-by-side. It could have thrown him for a loop completely if it weren’t for the gentle tug of a woman’s arm on his, guiding him back to his true purpose. He wasn’t there to think about friends and… whatever Ruka was.
Then Flash paused, the unease of having to make a choice with very little information churning in his gut. He couldn’t write Victor off just because he felt off about him. Maybe his gut was wrong, maybe his gut was just his feelings for Opeila. Right now he needed to turn off the part of him that made emotional decisions. It would only get in his way. The most dependable person is the one making the decisions no one else wants to make.
”Wait, I’m sorry. Mingle.” Flash changed his mind. He should stay out on the floor where Victor and Marion were.
A few of his Slytherin co-conspirators were already there, namely Thora, Bridget, and Tyranni. They had dispersed themselves in the crowd. Other Slytherins of note, Santario and Alexx were there for business, it seemed. Flash wondered what Santario’s roll of film would look like by the end of the night. Would it be something dreadful?
He had to release himself from the fear as well. He was not the one he should be worried about. He needed to look calm and in control. Happy. This was supposed to be a fun event. The smiling faces all around him seemed somehow distant, like seeing them through a greased lens. All those faces, all the blissful ignorance. He had to emulate that.
