Thora stumbled along the long corridors of Hogwarts, finally reaching the third floor. The unusually strenuous walk had been accompanied by a very sore finger. The second year stopped, raising her index finger to study it. The girl's normally slender finger was tomato-red and had swollen to twice it's usual size. At least it doesn't seem broken, thought Thora.

As if on autopilot, the girl turned into a familiar classroom. Why had she come here? Obviously, she should've headed to the Hospital Wing, but, the pain not being horrible, Thora decided to try out a new charm. The redhead read ahead in her all her books--a result of her solitary nature and thirst for knowledge. Recently, she had come across the Bandaging Charm. Walking up the moving staircases, the Slytherin had decided to give it a try. After all, what was a little pain to mastering a spell ahead of her year?

Standing awkwardly inside the doorway of the Charms room, Thora greeted Professor Vernatis, the Charms Professor, awkwardly trying to hide her hurt finger behind her back. She knew she could've performed the spell anywhere, but being in the Charms classroom made her feel safer--helped boost her confidence. Naturally, she had no problem with Charms--in fact, it was her best class--but the redhead could always use some extra determination.

Making her way over to a corner lit by lanterns, she took a seat on the floor and drew her wand. Recalling the page in her spell book in which she had found the charm, Thora ran over the movements and incantation. Hopefully this would work... Taking a deep breath, she pointed her wand at her reddened, fat finger. "Ferula," Thora incanted, touching the tip of her alder wand to her index finger. Thankfully, it was her left hand's index finger--had it been her right, moving her wand in the correct direction would be hard, as she was right-handed.

Holding her finger up to the light, Thora watched in awe as clean, white bandages appeared out of nowhere and began to wrap themselves around her finger. Seconds later, the finger was encased in thick bandages. It wasn't healed--unfortunately, Episkey was a fourth year spell, even though the redhead had read about it in her Charms book--but it would do for now.

She would still have to go to the Hospital Wing, but at least she had bandaged it  up so the pain was somehow contained. She would have to explain herself... Hmmmm, it would be difficult, but somehow she would have to find a way.

Edit: Is it alright if I change the date due to another RP's date where I used the spell? (Originally, I learned the spell after I used it. I didn't realize until I looked back and saw the date for this one.)

Artemis noticed something was off with Miss Larkston the moment she walked through the door but before he could ask the girl what was wrong, she pulled out her wand and pointed it at her swollen finger, saying the spell for the Bandaging Charm. To say Artemis wasn't a bit surprised at how well the girl managed to cast the spell without his help would be a lie, as he was quite surprised about how she managed to cast the spell. Ferula was in the Standard Book of Spells 3 textbook and this child only had the Standard Book of Spells 2 textbook. She would have needed to borrow the higher level text from an upperclassman or somehow managed to get a chance to peruse the spell in a book from home. No matter how she learned the spell though, Artemis couldn't deny the fact that Thora in fact mastered the spell. It could be due to the fact that she was already hurt.

"I do hope that you didn't purposefully hurt or break your finger just to practice this spell, Miss Larkston. But if you wouldn't mind, please make your way to the Hospital Wing to have that finger looked at. You've done well at demonstrating your prowess with this spell, pronouncing the spell properly as well as casting it correctly. You can officially add this spell to whatever list you kids have these days that record such things. Now, please go and have your finger looked at."

Artemis dismissed the girl and moved behind his desk to finish grading his papers before the next student came in for extra lessons. He truly hoped that there wouldn't be many more broken fingers or bones in the process. Skele-Grow is a horrible potion.
