During Hogwarts Ceremony

"GRYFFINDOR!" The sorting hat had cried when it examined her childhood  friend and neighbor, Lisabetta. Roxanna felt a wave of confidence.
This is going to be so easy. She smiled. She was going to go to Gryffindor too, for she knew that she had the confidence and bravery in her. She had remembered the times when she would go visit her Nanna in Scotland. It was often very boring, and then, she had met her to-be friend in her Nanna's neighborhood.
"Ow!" Roxanna had cried when she had been running through the forests of Glasgow. When she had stood back up and brushed the dust off of her skirt, she had glared at the one who bumped into her.
"Watch that!" She snarled. At first, they had argued as of who had bumped into each, but eventually, they had fell into laughter all of a sudden. After that, Lisabetta and Roxanna had always played together whenever she visited her Nanna in Scotland.
"Phillips, Roxanna!" The Sorting Hat had cried.
Confidently, she'd put on the old hat, and when she came out,
"SLYTHERIN!" It was unbelievable.
Ever since then, they hadn't talked much, especially since Liz joined Quidditch. She knew, eventually, that Slytherin and Gryffindor were going to compete eventually, and now, she didn't plan on giving away anything on the Slytherin practices.
She sighed. Right, she was outside of the Forbidden Forest, petting and feeding a black horse she happened to stumble by. Then, she heard a voice behind her.

Lisabetta had been in awe of the amazing castle that she was to call her home for the next 7 years. She had been happy to see that she recognized a few people from back home, especially one of her good friends, Roxanna, during the sorting ceremony. She hoped that they ended up in the same house together, but she remembered growing up with Roxanna had always said that she would be sorted into Gryffindor, so it probably wouldn't happen.

"Medici, Lisabetta!"

When her name was called, she walked up the steps to the sorting hat very carefully, knowing exactly where she would end up. Every member of her family had been sorted into Slytherin, so she was sure that she would be no different. It took everything in her will power to not drop her jaw in astonishment when the Sorting Hat called out Gryffindor. It couldn't be, it had to be a mistake right? Lisabetta didn't let any of these emotions show on her face as she made her way to the Gryffindor table. At least she might have a chance on knowing someone in her own house and she watched with a smile as her childhood friend walked up to the Sorting Hat. She was lost in her own thoughts about where she was sorted so she must have misunderstood the Sorting Hat when it called out Slytherin. As she watched her friend walk over to the table that she was supposed to be at, Lisabetta felt her heart drop, why was this happening?

Since that day, she hadn't seen much of Roxanna, which was a little weird for her. They weren't around each other all the time, but whenever Roxanna came to visit, they were pretty much inseparable. She had seen that her friend had made the Slytherin House Team and she knew that she would be running into her again, but this time as rivals instead of friends. Lisabetta didn't like that thought, it felt weird and wrong to view Roxanna that way, but that was the way it was now.

Lisabetta had ventured out to the stables after her schoolwork was done, too much on her mind to sit around the common room, or read a new book. She needed to be around the animals and just kind of let her mind free of her thoughts. When she got there, though, she was shocked to see a familiar red head grooming one of the horses in the stables.

"Needing to relax Roxanna?" As long as Lisabetta had known the girl, it was easy to spot when the red headed girl had a lot on her mind, grooming a horse was one of those signs.

She had been paralyzed in fear as she heard a voice behind her, it must be a staff or professor. She had been caught. Sighing, she turned around and jolted in surprise to find none other then her dear friend Lisabetta, or Liz as she called her.
"Of course! It helps me from stress." She said, with a smooth smile. She played it cool, yet she felt the flurries of emotion going through her. She had no idea how to act towards her old friend. Were they acquaintances? Friends? Strangers? It felt slightly awkward talking.
"It's been so long, she remarked. "When was the last time we talked? Two months ago?" she sighed. Time seemed to run so quickly. She stilled remembered when they baked together at her Nanna's, a delicious, hot, steaming apple pie. It was nostalgia she was feeling. She continued petting the skeletal black horse. It was so beautiful, she had thought. It seemed so much like a reptile, yet it had the clear structures of a horse, and it had... wings?! The description sounded so familiar in her ears, and then, it hit her. Was that a thestral? She hadn't remembered of ever seeing anyone deaths, but then she realized. Of course, her mother, whom Roxanna had died right in her arms. She realized that it was forbidden, and quickly turning to Lisabetta, she pleaded. "Please, don't tell any of the professors or staffs, I could get expelled, Liz!"
