The weather was cold and dull today and it had greeted her from the moment she had left the castle with high winds blowing in her face and forcing her short jaggeder self-cut hair to dance freely in the air.
Huffing in annoyance from the walk she just had to endure caused the grip to tightening onto her book; 'A Beginner's Guide to Transfigurations'.

It was quite odd for Falentra to be heading towards Professor Yornikovych's classroom. It was true that she had high interests in Transfigurations from a young age. A lot of her childhood was spent forever reading over books and her fathers journals in her free time, unlike most kids that would be out playing. There were just too many notes and descriptions that didn't make sense to her, hence why she was so eager and impatient to wait for the next upcoming lesson. She wanted to ask him directly- in private, without any other screaming children there that was would just ramble on about changing into something ridiculous.
All these questions on her mind, yet she was so hesitant as to whether this was all a good idea. Falentra wasn't one for going to others for help. Being quite the loner and somewhat independent kind made this all the more harder.

When she finally arrived outside the closed door, she shook her hair jet black hair back into place, although a few pieces were seemingly stubborn and not for going down. Her free hand rose up and gave three hard, loud knocks. Instantly after, she slid her book into the old worn bag than hung low and loosely beside her waist, the strap holding onto her shoulder, barely.
Taking the hand that she knocked with into the other, she began rubbing it gently across the knuckles. Weak and soft? No. She just had sensitive skin, that was for sure and it didn't help that her complexion was so pale. It brought up every mark, even from the knock just then.
Her fingertips brushed and tapped ever so softly against the reddened knuckles whilst she waited.
This wasn't something she was good at; waiting. She was impatient but this time, and only this time, she would wait. She was in no rush, but she didn't want to forget the questions she wanted to ask. This must have been the hundredth time that it had been repeated in her head and probably would be forgotten the second he opened the door, if he was there that is.

'' 'ello? You in there or what? '' She was soft spoken, yet the mixture of her southern and northern accent mashed together made it sometimes hard for others to understand. Either way, coming across polite and nice was the best way to be, right? ...No. Her instincts told her otherwise. 'Lets try a different attempt, then.' She spoke to herself in the back of her head before clearing her throat. '' Sorry, 'av I come at a bad time? You in beast mode?.. Arrggh! ''
Snickering to herself at the last part, she thought she was yet again being cocky, but most of all, the best comedian of all. Of course, she was not, but this eleven year old had no communication skills if it wasn't so obvious already, so it was nothing serious, or seen as offensive from her point of view.

Calloused fingertips tap the surface of the ink-stained parchment, upon it was a string of notes that detailed some work in Transfiguration. He was a professor, but as much of a scholar in the field as any other. Perhaps he truly did fit the ideals of Ravenclaw more than he would have liked, but the adjustment was pleasant, to say the least. The room resounded with the screeching groan of the wooden legs against the stone floor, followed by the taps of the dress shoes.

The man spoke something under his breath along with the wave of his wand and the paper follow suit. A few taps on the board and the mentor was making headway with his notes regarding the properties of matter when it had to do with apparition and disapparition.

As he was writing, his ear caught the slightest creak of the large door and the faint voice of a female student. The tapping of the chalk making an impact with the board came to an abrupt stop and the scratching with it. The older man turned around with a more placid temperament on his otherwise grizzled features, keeping a steady gaze as the student came into view.

The joke went over the older man's head as he rolled the chalk between his fingertips, so there was no need to fear his reaction because he had none. But beast was not the worst thing he's been called; it didn't faze Sergei. By now, he had some general idea of who his student were, it's been a whole year and thus he took the liberty in knowing their last names at the least. The man stepped forward and stopped halfway to let her approach him. It had become too awkward for him to watch students walk a whole mile to get to his desk, the classroom was far too large for his liking.

"Miss Black, what question do I have the pleasure of answering? If this is about the recent results for the quiz, I have not finished grading them."

The paper floated behind him wordlessly, charmed by some unknown incantation that the wizard had spoken. The board was halfway filled with a calculation she probably would not be able to tell, though he had no reason to hide it. The tables and desks were neatly put away and the cages had been cleaned, the animals seemed content. A few squawks from the perched birds echoed through the room, usually a signal that they know a stranger was in the room. A stack of books sat on his desk, the one space that was his. The rest of the items were papers, an inkwell, a quill, and a kettle with some tea in a cup. The man clearly made his classroom his home.

⠀⠀Falentra had been in this room a few times now but never had she seen it so spacious. Her dark hues scanned around, somewhat seemingly mesmerized by the slightest of things, the birds in particular. As she took a few moments to adjust herself to the newly designed surroundings, she was distracted by the voice of the other. She always did struggle to understand him. There were just some words or even sentences that took her a long time to process and even respond to.
The thought of her answering a question incorrectly during one of his classes put her on edge. Or maybe it was just his expression. It didn't seem to change much, or from what she saw, there were no signs of annoyance or aggression, ever. Despite this though, she did just ask if he was in 'beast mode' so god knows what she was thinking.

She took her head into her hand and mumbled to herself under her breath, cursing at the fact that she went into her own little world far too much, not really thinking what the other would be thinking of this moment of her talking to herself.

⠀⠀After staring into space for however long, and getting her act together, she finally took the time to look over and gave a brief wave in one effortless motion. It was her way of saying 'hello'. Being awkward like that, she didn't really get the gist of making a greeting through conversation.
During the short period of greeting the Professor, she saw he had stopped halfway towards her, so she took it as though she had to walk the rest in return, which she didn't really mind doing.
Instead of walking, which indeed would have been awkward from her side too, she decided to pick up the pace to a slight jog.
She didn't wait once reaching Sergei. Enough time was spent with her gawking already.

'' Nah. Not really fussed 'bout that quiz, although I'm sure I'll pass it with ease. '' A cocky smirk crossed one of the corners of her lips for a split second before refocusing back on what she originally came here for. '' I'm here to ask you if you are willin' to take a look at this book of me dads. Has all sorts in it- stuff that I don't really understand much, but I do know that he had a large interest in it. '' This was by far the most Falentra had talked to someone throughout her first year at Hogwarts, or at least so with some actual form of interest.

Hesitant at first, her eyes scanned over the book as to whether or not to hand it over to him. She knew it contained stuff that no eleven-year-old should really be reading, but that was no use now. She had read over this too many times and had memorized it word for word.
A few moments past, she held out her hand with the book firmly in it. It was the right thing to do deep down. Cockiness made her seem immature but a front was what she always wanted others to see. Deep down she was quite mature for her age and knew right from wrong. '' Here. '' She gave a slight huff and her eyes narrowed. '' Just be careful with it alright? It's as fragile as it looks... '' And it really was. Its original colour could have been seen in areas; a dark red-brown which was textured with a smooth leather touch, although the majority was now patchy and faded causing the rest to become a rusty orange. On the inside, the papers were extremely thin, some ripped, some missing and some with markings from either coffee or other forms of liquids splattered over making some of the writings unreadable. Luckily, it wasn't the parts she was most interested in.
Although it now rested in his own hands, she directed him with the pages, flipping through sections about the Types of Transfigurations, Werewolves, Unicorns, Hippogriffs and all sorts of creatures, as well as Spells and Curses.
After flipping through a dozen pages it landed on one that would contain Dark Magic, specifically around 'How to Bring the Dead Back, 'How to Reverse Death' and 'Dark Curses' & Spells that her father had previously tried. In the bottom left-hand corner of the book was some writing of which he wrote down all the results of which had failed, luckily.

'' Like I said, I don't really understand it much, and I’m not sure if you will either.'' There was a pause for about a good ten seconds before she continued. '' But I remember you taught us about Life and how the Dead can't be brought back, or at least... I don't think they can. '' This made her rub her temple. It was making her get all worked up and nervous. She didn't really know how to explain all of this to him, or if she would get told off for even having a book like this. But it was hers, and she wasn't going to let any person have it.
'' I... I just know this book was important to my dad. He spent more time working on it than he did with me... so please don't take this book off me. I did the right thing by taking it with me. '' Actually, she had stolen it from her father before he sent her away to Manchester, knowing full well that it would be in better hands here than it would in his own. He had defiantly lost it after the death of his partner, most likely the reasoning for all these attempts at bringing back the dead. “ What do you think I should do with it? I know he’s doin’ wrong here..and I don’t know what he will be like now, knowing all his research has suddenly gone... at the same time as me leaving. It'd be so obvious that I took it...

She had come in here with a confident vibe and cocky attitude, but now she was a complete mess. Not knowing how he would react now, or if he even would for that matter made her even worse. How were people meant to react to and deal with emotions in these situations she did not know. It made her want to start learning how to approach and deal with feelings more now after all this fuss.
